"The cultivation methods of the Gold Civilization must have placed great emphasis on Body Refinement. That's why even as zombies, their Defensive Power is so terrifying," Phoenix shouted excitedly while attacking the zombies. "Zhang Bin, we must obtain the inheritance!"

"Phoenix, let's just focus on staying alive for now."

"Freeze the World!" Zhang Bin yelled.

At his yell, two Ice Dragons flew out from his nostrils. They expanded rapidly, opened their maws, and violently sucked in dozens of zombies. The Ice Dragons then sprawled across the space, their bellies filled with zombies that had been turned into ice sculptures, unable to move a muscle.

However, more zombies swarmed them, continuing their frenzied onslaught until they could barely hold them off.

"Inferno Engulfs the Sky!"

Phoenix, now desperate as well, let out a great shout. Blazing Flames erupted from her body, transforming into more than a dozen Fire Dragons that attacked the zombies with a frenzy. The zombies were engulfed in flames, but they continued to attack with suicidal abandon, as if the fire couldn't harm them at all.

"Zhang Bin, did you see that? Their bodies are like some kind of super-strong metal, capable of resisting my Flames! If I could obtain a Cultivation Method like that, I could really extend my life!" Phoenix shouted with excitement.

"Let's go!" Zhang Bin roared. He grabbed Phoenix's arm, and they soared into the air, flying straight toward a tall building. They had only been fighting to test the zombies' strength, and now they had a clear measure of it.

The building was tall and looked magnificent. Perhaps it held treasures, or even the Cultivation Method they sought.

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

To their shock, some of the zombies took flight. Looking closer, they saw that each wore a pair of peculiar golden shoes. It was these shoes that gave them the ability to fly. They were undoubtedly a high-tech artifact.

"My god, I've struck it rich! These shoes alone are priceless!" Zhang Bin's excitement peaked, his face alight with ecstasy.

Blood Fang appeared in his hand. He brandished it wildly, cutting down all the flying zombies that tried to intercept them. Blood Fang was extremely sharp. While it couldn't sever the zombies' necks or arms, it still left deep gashes. Just as expected of zombies, no blood flowed from their wounds.

"Quick!" Zhang Bin shouted. He seized Phoenix's arm again, pulling her from the encirclement and flying like a bird to a balcony on the building's top floor. The balcony window was open, which was one of the reasons Zhang Bin had chosen this spot.

They dove inside, and Zhang Bin slammed the window shut behind them.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Numerous flying zombies swarmed the balcony, pounding frantically on the glass. However, the window's Defense was truly formidable; it wouldn't break, no matter how hard they struck.

Relief washed over both of them.

They began to carefully survey the room. It was a chamber of gilded splendor, complete with a bed and furniture all crafted from solid gold. However, they found no Jade Scrolls or other useful treasures.

"Let's check the main hall," Zhang Bin said, bold as ever, and pulled the door open, stepping out.

Outside was a luxurious living room, furnished with a massive golden round table and numerous golden chairs. Seated in two of the chairs were a male and a female zombie.

These were different from the zombies outside. Their skin was perfectly intact, even possessing a healthy luster. Strangely, the female zombie still pulsed with a trace of vitality, making her look almost like a living person. The male zombie, in contrast, emitted no life force; his body was suffused with an aura of death. They both wore golden Armor and radiated a powerful aura and immense Oppression.

Almost simultaneously, they turned their heads, fixing their chilling gazes on the intruders. Their stare was so frightening it would make anyone's skin crawl.

"These look like high-level zombies," Zhang Bin said, his expression changing dramatically.

Phoenix, however, grew extremely excited. She shot forward with an Arrow Step and roared, "Hand over your Cultivation Method! Or die!"

This woman is insane, Zhang Bin muttered to himself. Faced with a sliver of hope, anyone can become a true warrior.

He then stepped forward to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Phoenix.

Enraged, the two zombies shot to their feet. They drew the Golden Knives from their waists and pounced, viciously chopping at Zhang Bin and Phoenix.

WHIIINE...

The sound was piercing and mournful, so powerful it seemed space itself might collapse.

"Kill!" Zhang Bin and Phoenix didn't hesitate. Zhang Bin engaged the male zombie, while Phoenix battled the female.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

The sound of their weapons clashing was as dense as a downpour. Sparks flew, and killing intent soared.

Zhang Bin and Phoenix found themselves unable to withstand the onslaught and were forced back step-by-step. The zombies possessed boundless Strength and fought with extreme ferocity, employing a kamikaze strategy of mutual destruction. After all, their Defense was so strong they were truly impenetrable. The Golden Knives in their hands were also exceptionally sharp and hard. Zhang Bin's Blood Fang couldn't cut through the knives, only managing to leave marks and small nicks. Phoenix's spear, on the other hand, was now notched from the blows of the zombies' Golden Knives. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Such formidable zombies! They must have been Nascent Soul Realm Cultivators when they were alive!" Zhang Bin shouted in shock.

"Find a way to finish them!" Phoenix shouted while retreating. She knew Zhang Bin was powerful and had many aces up his sleeve. Flames were useless against the zombies, but perhaps Ice could trap them.

Zhang Bin immediately activated his Ice Dragon Talisman, and once again, two Ice Dragons flew out. But these two zombies were simply too strong. They unleashed dozens of frenzied slashes, shredding the two Ice Dragons to powder. There was no chance to Devour them.

"So damn tough!" Zhang Bin yelled in surprise as his right ear trembled violently. Instantly, a blinding bolt of Orange Thunder shot out, striking the male zombie squarely.

BOOM!

A thunderous explosion echoed as if the heavens were splitting apart. The male zombie was thrown to the ground, his body glowing with an orange Light. His Armor disintegrated, and the terrifying Orange Thunder continued to bombard his body.

SIZZLE... SIZZLE...

A dreadful sound filled the air as the zombie was quickly reduced to charcoal, utterly destroyed.

It seems Thunder really is the best weapon against zombies and Living Ghosts, Zhang Bin thought excitedly.

Just as he was about to blast the female zombie into oblivion, Phoenix shouted, "Don't kill her! Let's capture her alive! We might be able to obtain the inheritance! She seems different from the ones outside—she might have her own consciousness!"
