"Behold my magic."

A mysterious smile spread across Zhang Bin's face. At a thought, the metal ox flew out, landing on the ground with a thud.

Zhang Bin leaped onto its back and said, "Phoenix, get on. We're heading into the city."

"Giggle, giggle..." Phoenix laughed coquettishly, her laughter especially sweet and alluring, almost making Zhang Bin lose himself. After laughing for a moment, she chided playfully, "Stop joking around. Hurry up and think of a way in."

"I'm not joking, I'm serious. To enter and exit the City of Gold, one must ride the metal ox," Zhang Bin said with a wicked grin.

"If we can't get in, you'll be in for it," Phoenix warned teasingly before hopping onto the metal ox's back, seating herself in front of Zhang Bin.

Perhaps it was because Phoenix was so beautiful, but having her sit in front of him was incredibly tempting, and her fragrance drifted toward him in enticing waves. Zhang Bin's heart immediately began to pound, and he felt a strong urge to pull her into his arms. But he didn't dare. It wasn't because he feared her anger, but because he worried the terrifying flame energy within her body might erupt and incinerate him.

"What? You want to hold me? I don't mind, actually. You're the first man I've ever taken a fancy to. But you'd better be prepared to be turned to ash," Phoenix said, a teasing look on her face.

"Sooner or later, I will hold you. I might even devour you," Zhang Bin said fiercely.

"Giggle, giggle..." Instead of getting angry, Phoenix laughed again. "Stop dreaming and trying to act tough. Let's just get inside quickly."

"Get inside quickly?" Zhang Bin's heart skipped a beat. Is she deliberately trying to seduce me? Ugh, this feeling of being able to see but not touch is unbearable.

He composed himself, suppressing the lustful thoughts in his heart, and shouted, "Metal ox, knock on the door!"

No sooner had he spoken than the metal ox began to move. It took a few heavy steps to the city gate and began to rhythmically strike the doors with its two metal horns.

CLANG, CLANG, CLANG…

A series of crisp sounds echoed out. Then, something miraculous happened. The gates, which had been impossible to open, suddenly rumbled apart, revealing a dazzling and bewildering passage.

Inside lay a world of gold, illuminated by countless lights that made it as bright as day.

"My God, this is a city that never sleeps. Are there still people living in here?" Zhang Bin was utterly dumbfounded, his face a mask of shock and disbelief.

Phoenix was just as stunned, her mind reeling. She wasn't shocked by the lights of the City of Gold, but by the fact that Zhang Bin knew to ride the metal ox to get inside. This young man was far too mysterious. Incredibly so.

In truth, this was all Tutu's doing. Tutu had discovered that the metal ox possessed a brain-like device that functioned as its control system, making it a form of transport. Tutu had successfully hacked the device and obtained some of its data, giving Zhang Bin complete control over the metal ox. And so, they rode into the city.

Without waiting for a command, the metal ox stepped lightly through the gates.

They found themselves in an inconceivably vast city. Buildings were packed densely together, some soaring high enough to touch the clouds, others boasting unique designs. Everything was forged from gold. Even the ground was paved with seamless gold bricks. The city was outfitted with numerous lighthouses and street lamps, and its walls were adorned with many strange little lights, all emitting brilliant, multicolored beams. The city truly possessed spatial properties, as from inside, it appeared much taller than it had from the outside.

"Incredible, truly incredible."

"It's so beautiful."

Zhang Bin and Phoenix stared like a pair of fools, murmuring in astonishment. Soon, however, they made more discoveries. The city was eerily silent, completely devoid of sound. Here and there, stark white bones lay scattered on the ground. An aura of death permeated the air, making the scene somewhat terrifying.

Suddenly, all the lights in the city winked out, and the city gates slammed shut with a boom. Eerie laughter began to drift through the darkness.

"GAGA GAGA..."

"JIE JIE..."

Zhang Bin's hair stood on end. Phoenix was so frightened her beautiful face paled. She retreated again and again until her back was pressed against Zhang Bin's chest. Only when she felt his strong, steady heartbeat did she calm down slightly.

However, Zhang Bin was now the one feeling unsettled. The woman was too beautiful, and her unique fragrance was irresistible as it wafted into his nostrils. Even in such a terrifying environment, he found himself getting lost in the sensation. He couldn't stop himself from raising his hands and wrapping them around Phoenix's slender waist, which felt as if it could be spanned by a single hand. An electric jolt shot through him, and an unprecedented wave of affection and excitement surged through his heart.

THUD, THUD, THUD, THUD…

Heavy footsteps suddenly sounded, approaching from all directions.

"We need to get out of here! Those sound like zombies!" Phoenix screamed in horror.

Her cry jolted Zhang Bin from his reverie. His Divine Sense shot out like lightning, and he saw them: hordes of zombies swarming in from every direction. The males were over two meters tall, while the females were around 1.8 meters. There was no sign of life about them. Their faces were stiff and lifeless; some didn't even have faces, just bare skulls.

Damn, they're really zombies! All the corpses in the city have turned into zombies. My God, this is terrifying!

Zhang Bin's scalp tingled. He immediately commanded the metal ox to turn around and retreat, but the city gates wouldn't open. There was no way out.

They both leaped down from the metal ox's back, Magical Treasures appearing in their hands. Zhang Bin brandished his sharp Heavenly Axe, while Phoenix held a piercing long spear.

THUD, THUD, THUD…

The footsteps grew more rapid as the zombies closed in for the kill. Their fingernails were a foot long and radiated a terrifyingly evil aura.

"Let's fight our way into that building!" Zhang Bin shouted before charging forward, swinging his axe in a wild arc at a zombie's neck.

DANG!

Sparks flew as if he had struck solid iron. The axe failed to cut through. Though the zombie was knocked to the ground by Zhang Bin's tremendous strength, it was completely unharmed. It immediately scrambled back to its feet and resumed its pursuit.

"What kind of monster is this? How can it have such strong Defensive Power?" Zhang Bin was completely dumbfounded, his face etched with disbelief. The Heavenly Axe is a Low-grade Magical Treasure, and it's incredibly sharp! How can it not even break a zombie's skin?

DANG, DANG, DANG… 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Despite his shock, Zhang Bin didn't hesitate. He swung his axe wildly, sending zombies flying as he fought his way toward the building. Phoenix was also formidable, only a sliver weaker than Zhang Bin in terms of pure strength. She twirled her long spear until it became a spinning wheel, stabbing and knocking over any zombies that drew near.

However, not a single zombie was permanently felled. They all scrambled back to their feet and rushed at the pair once more, howling as they came.
