Mobuseka:Leon's Adventure-Chapter 92: Clash with the Five Idiots(12)
Chapter 92 - Clash with the Five Idiots(12)
Leon turned around as he heard footsteps behind him. Another girl stood before him—Clarisse. She looked irritated, if not outright angry. Leon took note of her expression and decided to approach her, greeting her first.
"Hey, Clarisse. How are you?" he asked in a friendly tone, trying to ease the tense atmosphere.
Behind Leon, Angelica and Olivia exchanged curious glances as they observed Clarisse. Angelica, in particular, seemed surprised by her sudden appearance.
"Clarisse? What are you doing here?" Angelica asked, furrowing her brows.
Clarisse gritted her teeth and glared at Angelica before replying in a sharp tone,
"The same thing as you. I came to talk to Leon."
After saying that, she turned to look at Leon and stared at him for a few seconds. Slowly, her expression softened, her breathing steadied, and the tension in her shoulders eased, as if just seeing his face was enough to calm her. Then, turning back to Angelica, she bowed her head slightly in an apologetic gesture.
"Sorry, Angelica. I'm in a really bad mood right now," she admitted, making an effort to sound calmer.
Angelica studied her for a moment before giving a small nod of understanding.
"It's fine. I know why," she said softly, her voice carrying a hint of sympathy.
With that exchange settled, Clarisse straightened up, her gaze now filled with newfound determination. She looked at Leon once more, her eyes burning with restrained fury.
"Leon," she said, her voice firm but laced with barely contained anger. "Your next opponent is Jilk, right?"
Leon met her gaze and nodded.
"Yeah, I think so. There's only him left, and the prince, who will probably go last."
Hearing that, Clarisse narrowed her eyes, her hands clenching into fists.
"Good," she said, her voice carrying an icy resolve. "Don't even think about going easy on him. Do everything in your power to make him pay for all his sins! You held back with the others, but with him... with him, it has to be different. Make sure he suffers more than anyone else!"
Leon raised an eyebrow in surprise, studying Clarisse carefully. There was so much anger in her words that he couldn't help but wonder.
"I was already planning to teach him a lesson, but I didn't expect Clarisse to be this aggressive. I thought after our last talk, she had calmed down a little... But I guess seeing Jilk flirting with Marie again, right there in the arena, was just too much for her to take."
He frowned, considering her words.
"She wants me to deal with him even harsher than the others I've already beaten... I don't know. Just how brutal does she expect me to be?"

But then, memories surfaced in his mind. He recalled everything Jilk had done.
The moment that bastard forced his sister to plant a bomb in his armor.
The times he had casually threatened Leon's life as if it were some kind of joke.
And then, the scenes from the original novel—the ones that should have happened in the future...
Leon remembered how Marie, struggling with money, had forced those five idiots to start earning for themselves. They had taken it as a competition and tried to outdo each other in making money. And what did Jilk do instead of working honestly?
He started selling counterfeits.
Scamming people.
Leon let out a heavy sigh, scratching the back of his head in frustration.
"Yeah... He's hopeless. I suddenly don't feel like going easy on him anymore," he said, crossing his arms over his chest.
Upon hearing that, Clarisse's face lit up with joy. She was so delighted by his words that she practically radiated happiness, like a child who had just been promised their favorite treat.
Leon unconsciously raised an eyebrow.
"She wants me to beat him up that badly...?"
But Clarisse just kept smiling, her gaze locked onto his. Her eyes sparkled with joy, and before he even realized what he was doing, Leon's hand lifted and gently landed on her head. His fingers ran lightly through her hair, patting her with a careful touch.
For a moment, Clarisse completely froze.
Silence fell between them.
Her eyes slowly widened, and then, her face erupted in a deep red blush. Suddenly, she took a sharp step back, her voice stammering.
"Th-thank you for everything... I-I wish you the best of luck!" she blurted out before spinning around and practically sprinting toward the spectator stands.
Leon, watching her retreating figure, blinked a few times before glancing down at his hand.
"What the hell just happened?.. Oh, of course... This is all because of that second Leon."
He let out a long sigh, rolling his eyes.
"That damn second me... He's way too open with the girls."
But his train of thought was suddenly interrupted.
A cold chill ran down his spine.
Slowly—very, very slowly—he turned his head and saw... Angelica and Olivia.
Angelica stood there with her arms crossed, watching him with a long, scrutinizing stare that radiated obvious disapproval.
Olivia, on the other hand, was smiling gently. But... something about that smile felt off. Leon swallowed hard as goosebumps crawled up his back.
"Something tells me... that smile hides something dangerous..."
Tense silence filled the air.
Leon had no idea how to defuse the situation, but fortunately, the arena bells suddenly rang loudly, signaling the start of the next match.
Leon turned toward the arena at lightning speed, feeling immense relief.
"Thank you, bell... You just saved my life."
