Modern World Warlock-Chapter 285: Dante Vs. Udras
After Dante punched Udras out of the hallway, the bandaged warlock retaliated by casting a wave of destruction before him. However, it was dispelled by Dante after traveling a few meters in front of him.
Before Udras could cast another spell, he was met by Dante's kick in the face, followed by a barrage of punches that were coated with umbra, staining the enemy warlock's bandages in blood.
"My body feels pretty light right now. Apologies if I kill you too quickly," Dante commented, hitting Udras with an uppercut that echoed in the garden.
As Udras stepped back and clapped his hands, strands of shadow whips began to appear around him, lashing the area around him.
Still, any time that a lash was directed at Dante, he simply slapped them away with the back of his hand while sauntering toward Udras.
"After all this time, who knew this would be our last encounter!?" Dante asked, his expression and tone severe.
When the warlock remembered the past, when he was just a child living in an orphanage, there was a kid who was older than him by a few years who went by the name of Udras.
Compared to Dante, Udras practiced his magic incessantly. He had an affinity for destruction and affliction, but his demonology magic wasn't impressive, which led Udras to become jealous of Dante, who was a Specialist.
Dante only began taking his training seriously after Xander, his teacher, took him out of the orphanage.
Before leaving, however, he was challenged to a duel by Udras, and after losing to Dante, the warlock's hatred for him kept growing.
During Dante's travels, he saw Udras two more times, and on both occasions, the man challenged Dante to a duel to the death. Still, Dante never killed him after defeating him.
Moreover, Udras was able to speak and didn't wear all those bandages around him back then, so Dante knew that the man had most likely lost a duel against Netherius, which turned him into a Death Knight after being killed.
"I'll make your wish come true, Udras… This time, I'll kill you," Dante said to his opponent before kicking him in the chest and pushing him back.
Udras held his gut with one hand while pointing his other palm upwards, producing a looming cloud above the garden that began raining hellfire projectiles in the vicinity.
Dante waved his hand and raised a shadow wall to protect Camille, who was holding onto the twins and Cerberus, while he avoided the flaming rain by quickly sidestepping.
Suddenly, a massive blade made of pure shadows materialized next to Dante, and when it tried to slice him in half, Dante cast "Rapture" and shattered the shadowy, giant sword.
Still, Udras wasn't done with his offense, jumping up high in the air and extending his arms widely, materializing a sizeable arcane pentagram above them, which glowed with an eerie red hue.
'Hmm? Is he that desperate to kill me?' Dante pondered, realizing that Udras' spell could destroy the entire mansion.
Dante extruded his black wings from his back and jumped to catch up to Udras, his expression seemingly unbothered by the powerful spell that was about to be cast on the residence.
Udras lowered his arms to release the spell, but as soon as he did, the arcane pentagram shattered like a glass panel, leaving him open to receive a barrage of punches from Dante.
After unleashing a fierce combo, Dante gripped Udras by the neck and threw him back to the ground with force, producing a large cloud of dust at the point of impact.
As Dante descended back down, he looked around and noticed that the encounter was absolutely destroying the mansion, so he rushed into the dust cloud and grabbed Udras once again from the collar of his jacket.
After dragging Udras on the ground for a few meters, Dante threw him with the intention of sending him out of the mansion, but Udras managed to move and alter his trajectory, crashing against a wall and landing back inside.
*Tch!* "That was my bad…" Dante muttered under his breath.
Still, when he approached the hole in the wall that was left from the impact, he felt the presence of Megan and another Death Knight fighting inside, prompting him to make haste.
"Dante!" Sophia exclaimed, standing in the back of the hallway.
Scanning his surroundings, Dante noticed that Megan had a few scratches but was still standing tall with her dagger in hand, and when he glared at the female Death Knight clad in black armor, he squinted with curiosity.
"Do I know you…?" Dante asked, confusing everyone in the room.

Before their fight was interrupted by a warlock crashing into the room, Megan and Vesnia were exchanging blows against each other without rest.
Vesnia's non-conventional way of fighting was difficult for Megan to get used to, so she received quite a few strikes from her opponent.
At times, Vesnia would spin while dragging her curved sword against the floor and disappear, only to materialize right next to Megan in less than a second.
'So disorienting…' Megan thought.
Even when she kept her eyes glued to her opponent, having her vanish and appear on her blind spot proved to be a difficult challenge for Megan to counter.
After Vesnia emerged beside the brunette and used the back of her hand to slap her away, Megan grabbed her chin and spat out some blood.
'I think I got it,' Megan thought.
As soon as Vesnia vanished from her sight again, Megan instantly turned around to her blind spot and waved her dagger. However, Vesnia could tell that the woman was getting used to her ability, so she decided to appear behind Megan.
"It's over," Vesnia muttered as she went to stab Megan from the back, only to be met by a shot in the head that bounced from her obsidian helm, halting her movement for a brief second, which was enough for Megan to avoid the attack. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
When Vesnia turned to the side, she saw Sophia holding a small revolver in her trembling hands, but before she could think of an alternative, a loud "boom" interrupted their fight as a fully bandaged man crashed inside the mansion.
