Chapter 481: 467, Master Jian fell ill (2)_1

“Grandpa, we understand what we’re doing, could you please give us your blessings?” Jian Luo clenched his fists nervously, pleading softly.

“Nonsense.” The old man retorted, “Bless you? How can I bless you?”

Black Jack stepped forward, pulling Jian Luo behind him. He stood alone, facing the old man’s fiery gaze, “Grandpa Jian, I like Jian Luo, regardless of his gender. I like him for who he is, the only person I will ever choose in this lifetime, will only be him.”

Jian Luo looked up at his broad shoulders, a warm feeling spreading in his heart.

“What about your family? What about people outside? Have you ever considered how they might react, how they might see Jian Luo?” asked the old man, his eyes cold and piercing, pushing Black Jack for an answer.

“You two have always played together since childhood, perhaps you’re mistaking your feelings for love when it might just be familial love. You’re full of youthful energy, how can you make such rash commitments for a lifetime?”

Black Jack replied firmly, “Grandpa Jian, I know you’re angry right now, but let me tell you clearly, my feelings for Jian Luo are more than just friendship and family love. He means more to me than my own life, without him, my life would be meaningless.”

“You…” The old man’s expression changed subtly but he surpressed his anger, “Let me make this crystal clear, there’s no way I will allow you two to be together.”

He didn’t care about the Jian family’s reputation, but he couldn’t let his beloved grandson face the criticisms of others. How could he bear to see him hurt by others’ disdainful looks and gossip?

“Grandpa!” Jian Luo stepped out from behind Black Jack, looking anxiously at the old man.

“Jian Luo, come here,” the old man ordered, not allowing any argument.

Jian Luo hesitated for a moment, then turned to look at Black Jack.

“Jian Luo, if you still respect me as your grandfather, come here immediately.” He commanded sternly.

“Go ahead.” Black Jack gently patted his head, whispering to him.

Jian Luo sighed softly, then walked slowly over to the old man’s side.

“From today onward, Black Jack, you are not allowed to visit the Manor anymore. Unless I give my permission, you two are not allowed to meet privately,” warned the old man, pulling Jian Luo towards him.

At his words, Jian Luo’s delicate face flickered with panic, “Grandpa!”

“Grandpa Jian, I don’t agree. You can’t separate Jian Luo and me.” Black Jack watched Jian Luo intently, fearing he might agree to the old man’s demands out of soft-heartedness.

The old man scoffed, “It doesn’t matter whether you agree or not.”

“Grandpa, I know you care about me, you can’t bear to see us being discriminated against and gossiped about in the future. But as long as I’ve chosen to be with Black Jack, I’m prepared for all of that. Can you please give us your blessing?” Jian Luo held onto his arm, begging him.

The old man turned his gaze away unwillingly, not agreeing to his plea.

“Grandpa, I beg you.”

Jian Luo knelt in front of him, pleading with hope in his eyes.

“Jian Luo!” Black Jack stared at him in pain and called out.

“Jian Luo,” the old man looked down at him weakly, “Even if you keep kneeling here, I can’t grant your wish. If you insist on pushing me, don’t blame me for arranging a blind date for you.”

Obviously, this time, the old man was not joking.

“Grandpa!”

Jian Luo stared at him in astonishment, a bitter taste welling up in his heart.

“Old Qin!”

The old man called out into the hallway.

“Old Qin!”

The hurried footsteps sounded, and Uncle Qin rushed in.

“Master, what happened?”

He saw Jian Luo kneeling on the floor and Black Jack’s stern face, his heart skipped a beat.

“Young Master Luo, you are…”

“Old Qin, take Luo upstairs and lock him in his room. Without my orders, no one is to let him out,” said the old man determinedly.

Jian Luo and Black Jack exchanged a glance, their faces changing.

“Master, you…” Uncle Qin looked at him in disbelief, completely puzzled.

He had only left for a moment, what on earth had happened?

“What are you standing there for, didn’t you understand what I said?” The old man shouted angrily, “Take him…”

As he was speaking, he felt a sudden pain in his chest, causing his body to sway.

“Grandpa Jian!”

Bai Jue, who was standing nearby, was the first to notice something was wrong and rushed over immediately.

“Grandpa!”

Jian Luo stood up and supported him.

“Grandpa, sit down first.”

The old man leaned back on the sofa, breathing heavily.

Bai Jue’s face was serious as he quickly examined him.

“Uncle Qin, quickly bring Grandpa Jian’s medicine.”

Before he had even finished speaking, Uncle Qin had already rushed off to get the medicine.

“Grandpa Jian, don’t get excited, breathe slowly,” Bai Jue calmed him down.

“It’s here, it’s here, the medicine is here.” Uncle Qin rushed back with the medicine.

Bai Jue took the medicine and gave it to the old man. Jian Luo poured a cup of water to help him swallow it.

After taking the medication, the old man’s breathing returned to normal, but his face was still pale.

“Jian Luo, listen to Grandpa Jian first.”

Bai Jue, supporting the old man, spoke.

Looking at the old man’s pale face, Jian Luo finally nodded.

“Grandpa, I’ll help you upstairs first, then I’ll return to my room.”

He glanced at Black Jack and allowed Jian Luo to support him.

Jian Luo supported him all the way upstairs. As they passed Black Jack, Jian Luo gave him a complex look, but didn’t say anything more.

Bai Jue placed a hand on Black Jack’s shoulder to prevent him from following.

Watching Jian Luo’s silhouette disappear up the stairs, a hint of regret flashed in Black Jack’s eyes.

“Black Jack, don’t lose your cool. Grandpa Jian can’t handle any stress right now. Let him cool down. This matter can’t be rushed. If you push him too hard and he actually arranges a blind date for Jian Luo, it will be even harder to deal with,” Bai Jue stated calmly.

“I’m going to call Jian Qing, asking her to come back. Stay here and keep quiet. Don’t forget, Jian Luo still has a father.”

The situation with Mo Xiao was also not optimistic.

This matter could only be settled with Jian Qing’s help. Both the old man and Mo Xiao always listened to her.

Black Jack nodded, his gaze fixed on the upper floor.

Bai Jue moved to one side with his phone to call Jian Qing. Their lives, which had been calm for just a couple of days, was thrown into chaos again.

Upstairs, after taking the old man back to his room, Jian Luo returned to his own room. Uncle Qin had taken his room key.

“Did you get the key?” Still lying on the bed, the old man opened his eyes as soon as he heard footsteps. He couldn’t rest easy right now.

“Yes, and I locked his room door.” Uncle Qin placed the key on the bedside table.

The old man let out a sigh of relief, although his face was still very pale.

“Master, what happened?” Uncle Qin asked, “Young Master Luo looked very upset.”

The old man sighed, “Luo and Black Jack are together.”

Together?
