Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss-Chapter 157 | Changes in the New World
"Then, I will be relying on all of you to become my avengers." A subtle smile marked his handsome face. He stood like a towering man, looming over the ghostly lady.
His sable-tinted gaze was soothing, resembling the calm ocean. It was quiet, yet wrath stirred from deep within its abyss.
Several flashes of light gleamed from behind him, blinding the desolate landscape with brilliance. In mere moments, gargantuan monsters materialized in the New World.
All of their attention was pointed towards their master, who had summoned them once again as an army.
"The Clan has taken something special from me."
"I want it back."
"March into the stormy lands of the New World's lower half. Destroy every military stronghold you find along the way. Trample them, leave nothing but destruction."
His words echoed through the desolate landscape crowded with monsters of different sizes. It sounded gentle, but it was a command for devastation regardless.
"It shall be done, Lord Oberon."
"Your inferiors will not disappoint your commands or disgrace them."
A cold glint escaped Yuki's ghostly eyes as they narrowed together into a crescent shape. "The Clan shall lose their fangs and be in the mercy of the great one."
Hearing her words, Damien sighed to himself and nodded. He was satisfied since it was a more troublesome command than before.
Most of them wouldn't be fighting together. Scattered throughout the lower half of the New World. An opportunity for the Clan to handle them one by one.
But he was confident in their capabilities.
Besides, it was not like they truly died. As long as Command Seals existed, they could be revived without much of a problem.
With this in mind, doubts that had flooded his mind were cleared away. The only thing he could do was trust them and cause as much trouble as possible.
It would be best if the military power of the Clan were entirely annihilated. At the very least, the only thing humanity needed to worry about would be the progenitor himself.
"Go on... I will be hearing of your exploits on the battlefield." Damien's lips curled into a smirk as his sable-tinted gaze narrowed. "Make them pay for what they had done."
Without hesitation or delay, the monster army started marching. Every one of them was heading towards a different direction.
But most of the strongest monsters under his command were marching to the center of the Clan. It was where the capital of the vampires dwelled.
"Once the Clan has been devastated by the monstrous tide. I should start upgrading every single one of them. It's time to make them much stronger."
Damien muttered to herself, staring at the back of his summoned monsters. Quite a long time has passed since he awakened from the intersection, ignorant of the world.
"To think that I would become someone who could usher destruction through words." He sighed, recalling his first thoughts about the Monster Gacha System.
It wanted him to become the villain, the final boss of the New World.
He was standing between the lines of his humanity and the other side.
Damien didn't favor any side. However, he hoped to maintain a balance, as extremism rarely yielded good results. There was a reason why the world was gray.
The most stable color.
Neither too white nor too dark. Not too controlling, yet not too liberating.
A perfect balance, as all things should be.
"I should be careful. The Clan might target me to halt the march of the monsters." He remarked, understanding the thought process very well. It wasn't an impossibility.
Days soon passed.
The news about the disappearance of the strongest shook the entirety of the Federation. Some cities near the southern frontier even collapsed. A mass exodus of people escaping to nearby safer settlements.
It was so severe that the Federal Government declared a temporary state of emergency in those states that bordered the southern frontier.
An official assembly between the Federation and SIGIL was about to commence, discussing problems and solutions that came with the loss of the strongest.
Military bases were being built in the southern frontier, preparing for the inevitable invasion of the Clan. After all, no one could stand against the progenitor anymore.
It was only a matter of time.
Hecate and Francine became the representatives of the Seventh Division. The SIGIL broke apart into two factions. One led by them, the other led by the Fourth Division Paragon.
Replacement of the Sixth Paragon hadn't even been decided yet.
With the Seventh Paragon gone, someone must hold the mantle.
Of course, greedy snakes existed within the Federation and SIGIL. Some wanted to become a Paragon, directing their desire to lead Block 7.
The Fourth Paragon even expressed his desire to combine Block 4 and Block 7. Fortunately, Francine blocked their advances and wanted to be promoted as a new Paragon.
The title of Paragon didn't exist without reason.
Obviously, many people wanted to deny her the right to be promoted. Their reasons were simple. They didn't wish to have the murderer of the Sixth Paragon to be a pillar of humanity.
But the actual reason was much more complex than that.
They didn't deny her power since she was the one who killed the best swordmaster in the New World. However, it was for that reason that they wanted to reject her.
She was too strong.
Now that the strongest of humanity was gone, an opportunity has arisen for them. It would be dumb not to take it.
Having another strong individual stand amongst the Paragons would hinder their plan.
Fortunately, many supported the promotion of the Rogue Blade to become the next Seventh Paragon. These were the Fifth Division, Third Division, and, surprisingly, the Sixth Division.
Having the support of half of SIGIL, there was nothing those against it could do. As such, Francine was promptly promoted as a Paragon.
Amongst those of SIGIL, she was probably the strongest. After all, she was the only one after Alastair to have learned the layered domain.
Microcosms would be useless against her.
On the other hand, the Clan wasn't left untouched during the chaotic week. Monsters emerged throughout the lower half of the New World, destroying military strongholds one after another.
Even the Main Army of the invasion force was catastrophically defeated when a single half-kilometer mechanical dragon bombarded the entire encampment, flattening mountains along the way.
Because of this, the central region of the Clan was consolidated. Regions beyond the center were abandoned. Cities become desolate, empty of anything or anyone.
Terror spread throughout the lower half of the New World. Even the last remaining True Bloods had to be mobilized to handle these monsters.
But no matter how much they exterminated, these monsters would pop up a day later as though nothing happened. It was as though nothing happened at all.
The Vampires within the Clan have been terrorized by the monstrous tide. Hunkered within the fortress cities in the central region as though waiting for the storm to weather away.
However, this was merely the beginning for them.
More was about to come.
Until the strongest of humanity was released, the monstrous tide would continue to torment the Clan.
Damien stood within an empty city that was supposed to be crowded by vampires. It was filled with gothic architecture, but there was nothing other than the eerie silence of desolation.
Beside him was a ghostly lady draped in a pale yukata. Beauty radiated from her, yet she kept her head bowed. A reverent loyalty.
He glanced at his status display, understanding one thing.
It was time to start evolving every monster under his command.
