Monster Integration (Web Novel)-Chapter 2075: Leaving
A day had passed by, I had only spent a day with my family and work; as for the mentees, I had only spent an hour, and so with them, I will have all the time to work with them and experiment on them after I reached my assignment which I had finally come to know after my meeting with Grand Commander.
As she had said, it is a familiar place that I had been to before, but I did not expect such a small place would become so important that they had to station a Grandmaster there permanently.
I would be directly under him, and according to the info Grand Commander has provided, I will be 3rd strongest person there, but I think I will be 2nd strongest person after the Grandmaster himself.
From the info I had read about the second strongest person, I think I can beat him with the recent improvements I have made.
I wish I could stay here for one more week but I could not. I had handed my creations to Grand Commander, and she said the preliminary test would be within a week, and if it is successful, they will be used all of them at once.
I am quite excited about them. These creations are something I had dreamed of for a long; they are not only destructive but will also produce a huge amount of resources for our forces and me, and only I know how much resources I need.
Yesterday, I had practiced my art again, progressing another 10% in the first stage. For it, not only I have exchanged all the resources I have no need for but also tapped into the resources I am getting from the Pyramid as the Grandmaster of healing.
While I was getting powerful, my storage had never been this empty; my storage had always had filled with resources; even though most of the resources I had were not used to me, I used to keep them, sell them only when I needed of something.
"Have you made all the preparations? You should not forget anything important." "It is a war you are going to fight, not the skirmish you are used to; the enemy will try to kill you at any cost seeing your power," Mom said as she asked me the tenth time about my preparations.
It is usually my father who fussed about my preparations, but this time it is my mother; the gravity of the war had made her fussy bee-like my father.
"I had made all the preparations, mom," I said for the tenth time and turned to her with a smile on my face.
"There is something I have to give you; it will be very helpful for your coming assignment," I said, "No more gifts Michael, you have given me enough, even helped me reach the leader class and provided the resources for the further the further advancement,"
"It is already enough; I do not want anything else," she said while shaking her head, "It is not a resource," I said with a smile, and beautiful purple and blue shield appeared in my hand, seeing the shield words on my mother lips have stopped and her expressions became complicated.
"This," mom said with the shaking voice, and tears well up in her eyes before one slid down from her left eye.
She looked at the shield for a couple of seconds before she took it, her shaking hands as tears began to stream down from her cheeks.
"How? I thought it would have been damaged beyond repair in holding back the curse in you," she said while gently touching the shield. "It had been a little damaged, but I was able to repair and upgrade it," I said.
This shield is strange; I had done the research and what I found is shocking; there is a core to this shield that is unlike what I had not seen before, and from what I had observed, it is extremely hard to destroy that core, you could expend its power but not destroy it.
Even if I had not been able to repair it, it would have been repaired on its own. Though, it would have taken it years and not a couple of days to do that.
"The shield would be more useful to you than me," Mom said as she tried to give back the shield to me. "I do not use shield, mom," I said and pressed the shield back to her, and it seemed like I had used too much of the force unconsciously and made her take a step back.
"You should train more; uncontrolled strength is more dangerous than you think," Mom warned. "I am working on it, mother. It is just that boost that art gives is little different and needs little more training to control the strength," I said.
"Thank you for the shield; I am sure it will help greatly," Mom said finally; I know it will and not just defensively.
Its upgrade had brought out a couple of cool abilities that will easily defend her from attacks of any master class Tyrant. She could even survive the attack of Grandmaster with it.
I spent a few hours with my family, playing with my sister till she slept. It is a good thing she had slept; if she had been awake, I would have had a harder time leaving.
"Take care of yourself out there and don't take big risks; there are people out there who are much stronger than you," My father warned as I got up leave.
"Take care of yourself, Micheal, and as your father had said, don't take the needless risks," Mom reminded the warning.
"I will not take risks," I said, lying through my teeth. It is war, and I will need to take the risk. Though I will not jump into the fire knowing it will burn me, that is just pure idiocy, and I am not an idiot.
I walked toward the teleportation formation with my father; as I did, my face and physique changed, and so is the color of my skin. My aura also started to increase, from elite, it reached a leader class before stepping into the master class and even taken half step beyond that.
