Moonquest: A Journey To The Stars-Chapter 58: Battle To The Mansion (II)
Chapter 58 - Battle To The Mansion (II)
A large electrical cloud emerged from the explosion, causing arcs of lightning to spread across the face of the beast. Under the astonished eyes of the trio, the gases continued to be vapourised, until all that was left was a ton of ash, some twitching little beasts wearing tiny skeletal helmets, and three large crystal balls filled with magical words encircling their interiors.
"What the f-"
"I knew it... These bastards are what made up the damn beast! Looks like there must be a golemancer or something or someone of that sort in the mansion. Shit! This makes life much more difficult for us!"
Cursing in anger, Duncan kicked one of the little beasts aside, making them moan in further pain. Simon protested in their defense, "Hey, don't kick them! They're so tiny and cute, why'd you wanna kick them! Come here to papa, you cutsie wutsie-"
"Those little bastards are Necrises. Little shits have almost no intelligence between them, and their bloodline makes them unable to rise beyond tier-2. But they breed like crazy, having 20 children every year or so! Although they are weak, their sheer numbers allow them to use the Human Wave tactic whenever they fight. This is bad news if they've reached here, for it means that the Demon King's reach has managed to extend to here as well..."
But what Duncan didn't tell them was that they usually only followed the command of one race only:
Succubi
Shit, having one of them here complicates this mission even further. Who actually surveys the ris of these damn quests in the first place!?

Back in the Guild, Durmast sneezed quite a few times, covering his table and papers with a considerable amount of snot. "Damn it, am I getting the Testoner Flu this early!?"

"Shit, what are we supposed to do then!?"
Punching the ground, Lewis raged in desperation. This was out of his bounds, for even he knew, through various depictions back on Earth (I, Robot, Terminator, etc.), that they were one of the most lethal creations to be ever created...
Mass Manufactured...
Consistent...
Follows Every Command...
The trio knew that they were doomed. They had no choice left but to abort the mission and tell everything to Durmast. They knew that if they were late by even a millisecond, the army-
"Hey, wait a minute, why's there only one of them?"

Lewis and Duncan turned their heads, staring at Simon. Head shrinking, Simon asked what he had done wrong. "Hey, I just said, where's the army. I mean, there's got to be a large army if they can be made so quickly, right?"
"Of course! We're such idiots, how could we not realise it! Robots can be made quickly, provided that there are enough materials for them to be made from! And since there's only one of such quality, we can assume that the current occupant does not have the necessary funds in order to build a lot of them! So we still have a chance! Simon, Lewis, let's roll out..."
Duncan raised his staff, aiming it straight towards the mansion.

Peering from the window, the purple-haired woman could not help but gawk as the trio forged straight into battle.
Bashing their way through the Aphrowers (with their weird face masks), jumping over the tentacle traps (damn-it, would've made good bedtime materials!), and breaking through the solid Durasteel doors (who fucking destroys the hinges!), they had arrived at the front of the mansion.
Realising that they had managed to pass through every obstacle, along with the fact that she was the only inhabitant of the mansion, she quickly scrambled onto her controller, activating her final creation, her magnum opus, and prepared for battle.
Underneath her, in the main hall, two bright red eyes lit up, clanking itself up, ready for battle.
