It was the next day.

As I woke up from sleep, I saw the blue and purple coloured egg lying next to me on the bed. It wasn’t glowing anymore.

I backed away from it and got out of bed. Until I figure out what kind of creature is inside the egg, I am going to be wary of it.

"It’s a new day. I hope nothing crazy will happen today like the previous days of my life". I muttered as I stretched my hands.

After stretching my muscles, I walked towards the drawer and took out my signature saving pills. I repeated what I did yesterday evening and treated my back.

I returned to my human form later on.

There was a knock on my door. I could already guess who it was.

"Come inside, Valerie". I ordered her.

I didn’t see her two assistants, piquing my curiosity.

She lifted her head, and staring at me, she replied, "Yes. But that’s not all, my Alpha. I want to officially become your lady in waiting".

’All of a sudden?’. I thought.

It was as if Valerie noticed the doubtful look in my eyes, because she added, "I returned to the mansion because I need to fulfill your mother’s dying wish. I could vividly remember what happened on that day. I grew bored by my own party and went out of the house.

I sat on the ground and stared at the beautiful stars, only for me to turn to my side and see an old woman.

I stood up in a hurry and was ready to run away and return to my birthday party.

"Young lady, you are troubled and worried, right? Ever since you turned five, you have been able to read people’s minds. You were naturally talented, so you easily figured out that you could block your mind - reading power by meditating. The last time you read three people’s minds a day, you felt extremely weak and were scared to death because you thought you were going to die, am I right? That was what the old woman said to me. "How did you know all these things?! And can I get rid of the power?!". This was my question to her. I was desperate.

"You don’t have to go through that length to do whatever I ask you to do. You can’t get rid of the mind - reading power. This power came to you because you are a special child". She told me, shattering my heart beyond pieces.

I lowered my head in disappointment before realizing something. I lifted my head and stared at her. "How did you know what I was thinking about?!". I exclaimed.

"Because I am the first ever special child who received the mind - reading power. Though mine was different. I received my powers when I was a teenager like you". She said to me with a smile on her face.

Although she was smiling, I could see the sadness in her eyes.

I wanted to ask her questions, but she shushed me and said to me, "You are meant for greatness, child. I am lucky I struggled and came to you today. Don’t ever read more than five minds a day. If you dare do that, you will inevitably die. I am telling you this because it happened to me. I made that mistake".

I honestly couldn’t understand what the old woman meant. If she made that mistake, why was she still alive?

Everything started becoming creepy to me. I instantly stood up and backed away from her a little bit.

"Clara!". I turned to the house upon hearing my mother calling me.

When I turned to the old woman, I could not see her again.

And ever since that night, I never saw her again.
