Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 448 - 447: She Guessed It
Before Joel Quinn, Claire Sullivan really cared for Serena Sullivan.
She was willing to do anything to give birth to Serena, which showed how much she cared.
As Serena grew up, increasingly resembling Mr. Sterling, coupled with the instigations from Joel Quinn and his daughter, Claire unconsciously began to resent Serena, thinking Serena couldn’t stand her happiness.
That hatred wasn’t entirely directed at Serena; subconsciously, she transferred her feelings towards Mr. Sterling onto Serena.
Seeing through the true nature of Joel Quinn and his daughter, Claire could no longer remain deluded.
Her love for Serena erupted completely, no longer continuing to hate her because of Mr. Sterling.
When Joel Quinn wanted to harm Serena, Claire couldn’t accept it and was only thinking about protecting Serena with her own life.
She hoped this way she could fulfill her responsibility as a mother and, in doing so, earn some forgiveness from Serena.
Serena approached, and the three of them walked down the corridor leading to Claire’s hospital room, where they saw a man standing at the door.
The man was standing alone, quietly, without any intention of entering the room.
"Who is this?"
Finn Chandler couldn’t recognize the man’s identity and asked Serena, "He looks familiar!"
Judging from the man’s back, Finn felt like he’d seen him before.
Mr. Sterling had been seen by Finn multiple times at banquets in the Imperial Capital, hence the familiarity.
However, Serena recognized him at once.
"I don’t know who it is?"
Serena said this as she turned her body, "Let’s go."
Finn found it puzzling; Serena came to see Claire, yet she’s the one suggesting they leave.
Could it have something to do with the man at the door?
She wanted to go and take a closer look at the man’s face, but Serena’s wheelchair had already turned around, moving forward.
Finn had no choice but to give up on seeing the man’s appearance and turned around to follow Serena.
"Serena, what’s going on?"
As they left, Finn asked Serena.
"I’m a bit tired."
Serena lied, suddenly having an idea in her mind, an idea that would allow her to quietly leave Solaria.
"Okay."
Finn didn’t suspect anything and pushed Serena back to the hospital room.
After getting Serena back into bed, Finn saw her quickly close her eyes and fall asleep. Finn conveyed some instructions to Sister Ann and left first.
She planned to come back during dinner time to pick up Serena.
According to the original plan, she would take Serena away like this and then notify Ethan Grant to arrange everything that followed.
After Finn left the hospital room, Sister Ann went out for a moment, and Serena slowly opened her eyes, raising her hand to pick up the phone from the bedside.
Her previous phone had been smashed, and this one was left by Ethan Grant before he left.
With Sister Ann taking care of things, why did Ethan Grant leave her a phone? Was it to help her keep in touch with Finn?
Earlier, Finn and Ethan had come in one after the other, or maybe they came in together, only Ethan stayed outside for a while.
Both of them came in, and Finn didn’t question Ethan as she used to about not protecting her properly.
They both expressed their anger towards Joel Quinn quietly.
Then, there was the smell of cigarettes.
Finn had it, Ethan had it.
Serena was accustomed to the smell of Ethan’s cigarettes, though Finn usually smoked, if she’d really come from a banquet there should have been the smell of food and drinks on her, and the cigarette smell shouldn’t have been that strong!
This indicated they had talked before coming in and had reached an agreement on something.
