Chapter 305: Chapter 305: Causing Trouble for Miles Harrington

Ethan Sterling suddenly turned his head, and upon seeing her figure, the worry in his eyes disappeared instantly. He walked towards her with a relaxed look at the corners of his eyes, "I was just asleep for a little while, and you ran off."

The bruises on Ethan Sterling’s face had faded significantly, revealing his impeccable features once again to the crowd.

"I was just on the balcony."

As the words fell, Ethan Sterling pinched Seraphina Redgrave’s wrist and pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly.

He lowered his head, burying it in the crook of her shoulder, greedily inhaling Seraphina Redgrave’s scent.

She liked to eat sweets, and her body carried a faint scent of chocolate.

Seraphina Redgrave compliantly let him hold her.

Ever since Ethan Sterling returned from Country Z, his dependency on her had grown stronger, as if he couldn’t bear to be away from her.

Even if she left for just a little while, Ethan Sterling would wake up startled from his dreams and start looking for her everywhere.

"I’ve already told you, I will never leave this place and will stay by your side until life fades away."

"And yet you, you wander around all day. With all these injuries on your body, when will you ever recover?"

Seraphina Redgrave leaned against his chest, her voice muffled as she spoke.

Nanny Lynch, standing aside, watched the two, smiling so much her eyes curved, and quietly went into the kitchen.

"And what about you? Don’t you have injuries too?"

Ethan Sterling released her.

"I only have a major wound on my shoulder, making it difficult to lift my left arm, but everything else is fine. You, on the other hand, are covered in bruises and have two serious fractures." These can’t even compare.

"But I don’t want to lie down like this forever."

Lying down all day is really too boring.

"Besides, I have no problem walking now; I just have to walk slowly."

"Should I call Dr. Goodwin to give you a rest course?"

Seraphina Redgrave glanced at him sideways.

"He wouldn’t dare." Ethan Sterling was sure; giving him a lecture was worse than directly stabbing Dr. Goodwin.

"..."

Seraphina Redgrave was utterly speechless.

"Young Master, Miss, come have some fruit." Nanny Lynch placed a freshly cut plate of fruit on a small table facing the doorway, where, once seated, they could see the outside view.

In the light, the fruits looked fresh, juicy, and very tempting.

Seraphina Redgrave held Ethan Sterling’s hand and led him to the small table, "Come have some."

Ethan Sterling sat across from her. All he had to do was turn his head slightly to see Nathan Ayers kneeling in the courtyard.

This position and this angle...

Ethan Sterling furrowed his brows deeply, looking at Seraphina Redgrave with a very complex expression, "Are you trying to plead for this traitor?"

The small table wasn’t placed here before.

Although this small table had always been in the living room, it hadn’t been used in a long time, and Nanny Lynch wouldn’t casually put a plate of fruit on it.

Seraphina Redgrave sat there calmly, looking at the fruit in the fruit bowl. She picked the biggest grape and fed it to Ethan Sterling, then said, "I have a suggestion that might quell your anger."

Ethan Sterling leaned his head close to her, took a bite of the apple she offered, and, as he swallowed the grape, teased her fingertips as if licking them.

After swallowing the grape, Ethan Sterling finally spoke, "Since he dared to make such a decision back then, he should have expected today’s outcome. Plus, he couldn’t even catch Selena Quinn, so what’s the use of such a waste to me?"

Two days had passed.

The powerless Selena Quinn seemed to have vanished into thin air, without a trace left behind.

"If you really wanted Nathan Ayers to atone with death, you wouldn’t have let him kneel here for two days," Seraphina Redgrave’s gaze drifted outside to Nathan Ayers, noticing he was starting to sway, likely to collapse before long.

"If it were up to you, whether he lives or dies, I truly don’t care," Ethan Sterling scoffed coldly.

"But seeing him kneel here every day, I haven’t felt any less anger; instead, I feel somewhat uneasy."

Seraphina Redgrave looked at him and brought a piece of mango to her lips.

Ethan Sterling opened his mouth to bite, and Seraphina Redgrave watched his lips, lifting her slender fingers to wipe the juice from the corner of his mouth. Though the action was tempting, her face was incredibly innocent, nailing the concept of pure allure.

Ethan Sterling, stirred by her actions, looked at her with darkened eyes, then said, "Say it; let me hear if it’s feasible."

Having received the answer she wanted, Seraphina Redgrave smiled and called out to Nathan Ayers at the door, "Special Assistant Ayers, come in for a moment."

Nathan Ayers, kneeling in the yard, heard someone calling him and thought it was a hallucination.

Lifting his head, he met four eyes; Ethan Sterling and Seraphina Redgrave were both staring directly at him.

Only then did Nathan Ayers realize it wasn’t a hallucination. Startled, he quickly got up and walked towards the house.

Because he had been kneeling for too long, his legs were numb and devoid of feeling, so even these few meters of flat ground felt like a mountain road to him.

He looked extremely pitiful.

"Special Assistant Ayers, within the Sterling Group, you’re quite the figure, second only to one, above thousands, right?"

Seraphina Redgrave asked casually.

Hearing this, guilt filled Nathan Ayers’ face; his complexion turned even paler, "Yes, but I used the privileges Young Master Sterling gave me, betrayed him, and caused Miss to suffer so much torment at The Directorate."

In fact, he had long realized that Young Master Sterling had placed Seraphina Redgrave at the pinnacle of his heart, but he still did as Miles Harrington had instructed and foolishly believed everything was for Young Master Sterling’s good.

But when he saw Young Master Sterling return battered, on a refugee boat, Nathan Ayers knew he was exceedingly wrong.

"If that’s the case, then don’t kneel here anymore. It’s annoying," Seraphina Redgrave spoke gently, "From today, continue to use your rights to work, for example, put pressure on Miles Harrington, create trouble."

"!"

Nathan Ayers looked at him in shock.

Pressure on Miles Harrington?

Ethan Sterling, hearing this, glanced at her.

Interesting.

"Based on my observations these days, you seem to know him quite well, so you should know best what would cause Miles Harrington trouble and do whatever annoys him,"

Seraphina Redgrave spoke as if she were discussing what to eat tomorrow, with no hint that she was suggesting making trouble for a national president.

Though Nathan Ayers didn’t fully understand what Seraphina Redgrave meant, seeing Ethan Sterling’s lack of opposition, he could only lower his head and say, "Yes."

Having said that, Nathan Ayers turned and left, walking with difficulty.

Seraphina Redgrave watched his somewhat desolate figure, chuckling softly.

Ethan Sterling boredly poked at a piece of apple with a fork and said, "Miles Harrington and I are just about at a standoff now. Even if he knows I’m the one having Nathan Ayers trouble him, he wouldn’t dare to confront me. If he wants to vent, he’ll only take it out on Nathan Ayers."
