Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return-Chapter 1164: The Little Witch’s Provocation
How could Jiang Qiling possibly withstand a sword strike that even they couldn’t confidently take? Watching Jiang Qiling opposite Zhuang Xingfeng, everyone had the same thought.
But soon, their eyes widened in disbelief again.
Jiang Qiling struck out, the bright Sword Light like a bolt of lightning, or a venomous snake shimmering with a blue aura, piercing into Zhuang Xingfeng’s graceful Sword Light.
This sword strike was so swift, so direct, as if it punctured through space and pierced the heavens and earth.
The disciples, their foreheads sweating a moment ago, suddenly felt their entire bodies turn icy cold. Although the sword was aimed at Zhuang Xingfeng, it felt as though it was targeting each person present, a stark reminder of the threat of Death.
"Ting!" With a light sound, Zhuang Xingfeng blocked Jiang Qiling’s Longsword.
The first strike, and neither side was victorious.
"Brother Zhuang, impressive Swordsmanship, take another strike from me." Jiang Qiling showed a look of appreciation. Clearly, it was the kind of appreciation that the strong have for the weak.
As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Qiling struck out again, this time quicker and more venomous. When that blue Sword Light swept past, everyone’s hearts felt pierced, a bone-chilling cold.
"Ting!" Another light sound, Zhuang Xingfeng blocked Jiang Qiling’s Longsword once more, but this time, he retreated five steps before he could barely fend off the opponent’s Sword Light.
"The third strike!" Jiang Qiling laughed aloud.
Amidst light sounds, Zhuang Xingfeng retreated again.
"The fourth strike!" Before Zhuang Xingfeng could steady his stance, Jiang Qiling thrust another sword.
Zhuang Xingfeng retreated continuously, his forehead now drenched in sweat.
"The final strike!" Jiang Qiling’s expression turned icy, becoming exceedingly cold.
As this Sword Light struck out, Zhuang Xingfeng’s face changed dramatically, and he unexpectedly retreated off the Competition Platform.
He retreated quickly, but Jiang Qiling’s sword was even quicker, the fierce murderous intent locking onto Zhuang Xingfeng tightly. It seemed that even if he retreated to the ends of the earth, this sword would still claim his life, relentless until death!
Just as it seemed Zhuang Xingfeng would perish under this sword, everyone below the platform was aghast.
"Assessment over!" Just then, a mentor suddenly spoke.
Jiang Qiling abruptly halted, her Longsword still pointing straight at Zhuang Xingfeng, less than half a foot from his Heart Meridian.
Zhuang Xingfeng’s face was deathly pale, sweat dripping down his cheeks.
"Admit defeat, Brother Zhuang." Jiang Qiling smiled slightly, speaking with arrogance.
"Congratulations, Jiang, for passing the assessment." Zhuang Xingfeng’s face flushed with shame, speaking bitterly.
Jiang Qiling not only passed the assessment, if it wasn’t for the mentor speaking up in time, he might have already perished under Jiang Qiling’s sword.
Below the platform, everyone was left speechless.
No one could have imagined Jiang Qiling’s prowess to be so terrifying, her Swordsmanship so insidious, so fierce!
If before the title of Little Witch Long Yan was merely talk, now, this Little Witch truly lives up to the name.
Previously, what people feared wasn’t Jiang Qiling herself, but Jiang Yunhe standing behind her. But now, everyone knew just how frightening Jiang Qiling really was.
Perhaps, having a father as the Dean of Tenglong Academy is the greatest relief for everyone. If not considering Jiang Yunhe’s stature and reputation, with her formidable strength and sinister Swordsmanship, offending her would mean a fate worse than Death.
"Mu Hanyan!" Just as everyone was quietly reflecting, Jiang Qiling suddenly turned her head, coldly shouting at Mu Hanyan.
The crowd instinctively looked at Mu Hanyan, recalling that Long Yan Academy had someone who had offended Jiang immensely but was yet to die.
That was Mu Hanyan, the academy’s first playboy, with accomplishments and fame not inferior to the Little Witch Long Yan.
Mu Hanyan slightly narrowed her eyes, calmly watching Jiang Qiling.
"I have passed the assessment; it should be your turn soon, right? I wonder which of us is stronger?" Jiang Qiling said arrogantly.
The dense smell of gunpowder also spread between the two.
Is this an official challenge between them? Listening to Jiang Qiling’s words, everyone pondered.
Jiang Qiling’s strength is not overnight; if not for guessing, she has been hiding her strength for a while. Although the reason is unknown, her revealing strength today should be because of Mu Hanyan, right? This is her challenge to Mu Hanyan!
"Don’t worry, I won’t let you down." Mu Hanyan said calmly. Jiang Qiling’s strength did not exceed her expectations; such provocation or unspoken challenge was anticipated.
Seeing Mu Hanyan’s calm and serene demeanor, everyone was moved.
The feud between Jiang Qiling and Mu Hanyan is well known to others, and Mu Hanyan herself would not be unaware. Yet, after witnessing Jiang Qiling’s real strength, she remained so calm, suggesting she has absolute confidence in her strength.
But how strong is her strength?
For the upcoming assessment, not only the disciples but even the mentors were filled with anticipation, hoping the assessment would proceed quickly, reducing their waiting time.
"Next match, Mu Hanyan." As Zhuang Xingfeng and Jiang Qiling left the platform, the drawing mentor excitedly announced.
"What a coincidence!" Everyone was surprised.
Jiang Qiling had just issued a challenge during the assessment to Mu Hanyan, and unexpectedly, Mu Hanyan was up next, such a coincidence!
No need to wait longer, the result would soon be visible; everyone became invigorated, but upon hearing the name announced by another drawing mentor, their expressions turned extremely strange.
"Examiner, Duan Heshan!" The mentor trembled slightly as he announced the name, not from fear but from sheer excitement.
Finally, it was time for the strongest disciple under Long Congyuan, Duan Heshan, and his opponent was none other than the rising star Mu Hanyan. Coincidentally, Mu Hanyan had just been challenged by Jiang Qiling.
If not for personally drawing the lots, he would’ve doubted any trickery involved.
But thinking carefully, he felt sorry for Mu Hanyan. Jiang Qiling had defeated Zhuang Xingfeng, whose strength was not thought inferior to Duan Heshan’s, with just five sword strikes. How could Mu Hanyan possibly surpass her?
