Chapter 1176: Chapter 1176: Alliance of the Little Witch and the Big Playboy

The gap between a First Rank Sword Master and a Fourth Rank Sword Master is still quite large.

"Little Senior Sister, you’re on the brink of death and still trying to intimidate us. Do you really think a few words will scare us off?" Qiu Yuan said with contempt, feeling reassured.

Jiang Qiling’s expression was somber, but her eyes were filled with anxiety. She had clearly explained everything to Han Yan, so why hadn’t he taken the opportunity to escape? Was he still doubting her?

"Little Senior Sister, stop wasting your efforts. Just accept your fate. Considering the years we’ve been together, I’ll give you a swift end." Qiu Yuan approached Jiang Qiling again.

"Qiu Yuan, you ungrateful and despicable person, I will fight you to the end." Jiang Qiling stood up full of fury, launching an all-out attack on Qiu Yuan with her sword.

Even though her meridian clearing and marrow washing was not complete, and her strength was suppressed, in her rage, she managed to tap into her potential and barely exert the power of a Second-level Sword Master.

Although still far from the level of a Fourth Rank Sword Master, her sudden surge in power made Qiu Yuan wary, and he responded with full concentration, slashing back with his sword.

"Watch out!" At this moment, a startled shout came from behind, it was Qiu Ye’s voice.

Before Qiu Yuan could react to what was happening, the sound of the wind whipped up behind him, and a chilling killing intent locked onto him.

The hair on Qiu Yuan’s back stood on end as he quickly turned around. Just as he caught sight of Han Yan’s ethereal silhouette and cold gaze, a searing pain struck his back, and he was heavily struck away.

"Han Yan, it’s you!" Qiu Yuan spat out fresh blood as he struggled to get up, looking at Han Yan with anger and surprise.

"Sorry, I ruined your plan." Han Yan flicked the blood from her sword, feeling a bit regretful.

Against the Holy Court’s people, she would show no mercy. But like Jiang Qiling, she could only muster nearly the strength of a Second-level Sword Master, so even with a sneak attack, she couldn’t kill Qiu Yuan.

Fortunately, Qiu Yuan was severely injured, which greatly eased her pressure.

With a cold glance at Qiu Yuan, Han Yan casually tossed a bottle of elixir to Jiang Qiling.

"Han Yan, Jiang Qiling is your enemy. Why would you save her? Have you lost your mind?" Qiu Ye frowned, questioning.

"If I didn’t save her, that would truly be losing my mind." Han Yan replied with a cold smile.

"Oh, I understand now. You’re worried that after we kill Jiang Qiling, we might turn against you, right? You’re overthinking it. Our target is only Jiang Qiling. If you leave now, we won’t trouble you." Qiu Ye thought for a moment, then suddenly understood.

"Do you really think I’d believe you? When did the Holy Court’s people become so compassionate?" Han Yan retorted disdainfully. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

This Qiu Ye, despite his words, was much more cunning and hard to deal with than Qiu Yuan.

"You know our origins?" Qiu Ye was slightly surprised, looking at Han Yan with a serious expression.

"You truly know nothing about me? Even if I didn’t make a move today, you’d still come after me eventually." Han Yan countered.

She wouldn’t believe that Qiu Yuan and Qiu Ye knew nothing of her true identity. If even Jiang Qiling could guess she was a descendant of the Guardian of the Gods, how could the Holy Court’s people, the biggest enemies on the Holy Court Continent, not know? It was only because the timing wasn’t right, and their attention was primarily on Jiang Qiling.

Once Jiang Qiling was dead, it would be her turn. Today, as long as she revealed herself, they wouldn’t let her go.

"You’re right. Even if you hadn’t intervened today, we would eventually come for you." Since Han Yan had seen through them, and both sides were aware, Qiu Ye saw no need to hide and gave a sinister smile, drawing his longsword.

Amidst the singing of the sword, a wave of Sword Light enveloped Han Yan, sharp and filled with killing intent.

As a Fourth Rank Sword Master, Qiu Ye was clearly stronger than Qiu Yuan, just a step away from the Fifth Rank. His understanding of Sword Dao was well above Qiu Yuan’s as well.

"Attack!" Han Yan didn’t hesitate, slicing out with her sword while shouting to Jiang Qiling.

Jiang Qiling, having been injured in her earlier fight with Qiu Yuan but now feeling much better after taking the elixir, heard this and immediately moved forward to fight alongside Han Yan.

Two streaks of Sword Light headed directly towards Qiu Ye.

Sparks flew, and the sound of metal clashing resounded almost simultaneously. Han Yan and Jiang Qiling retreated five or six steps before barely stabilizing themselves, while Qiu Ye only slightly swayed.

Clearly, Qiu Ye had the upper hand with that strike, but Han Yan and Jiang Qiling were still energized. Despite the vast difference between their ranks, not as fundamental as the gap between a Swordsman and a Sword Master or a Sword Master and a Sword Saint, the two of them together still had a fighting chance.

"Why didn’t you leave?" Jiang Qiling asked Han Yan, after a brief recovery.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend, haven’t you heard?" Han Yan replied.

Jiang Qiling tilted her head, glancing at Han Yan with the corner of her eye, trying to discern another meaning, but found none.

"Again." Han Yan didn’t let her continue daydreaming, giving a quiet shout and attacking Qiu Ye.

During their earlier combined attack, Han Yan felt something strange, or perhaps an astonishing realization.

"Okay." Without hesitation, Jiang Qiling once again merged swords with Han Yan, attacking Qiu Ye.

Two streaks of Sword Light flew past, their qi energies pulling at each other, repelling yet attracting, their intangible energies vaguely merging, resembling the rules of Heaven and Earth.

This time, Han Yan confirmed the strange sensation from earlier—when they combined swords, the restrictions imposed by the rules of Heaven and Earth weakened significantly.

This was also why, even as they attacked, their meridian clearing and marrow washing did not cease.

The Sword Light clashed, Qiu Ye only swayed slightly before steadying himself again, while Han Yan and Jiang Qiling once again retreated a few steps. But counting carefully, one would notice they retreated six steps last time, but this time only five.

"Kill!" Jiang Qiling, despite her intelligence, was simply unlucky to meet Han Yan, always being slightly outmatched. Compared to others, though, she was still keenly perceptive, soon noticing this as well.

Not giving Qiu Ye time to think, she immediately charged forward with her sword after barely stopping.
