My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World-Chapter 63: Why Are You Showing Me This?
Chapter 63: Why Are You Showing Me This?
Feng Xiyan placed the bronze mirror back on the altar and said, "Go to the Great General’s Mansion and tell Uncle Huang to prepare two boxes of valuables and bring them here."
"Yes, Master." Feng Yi replied, then disappeared.
Looking at the bronze mirror, Feng Xiyan sighed and muttered, "I don’t know if I will ever be able to repay her kindness in this lifetime."
Meanwhile, Bai Hanyun and Hua Yuyu had just arrived home. After splitting the breakfast, Bai Hanyun returned to her house while Hua Yuyu went back to his capsule home.
Although Hua Yuyu was Bai Hanyun’s personal bodyguard, they rarely interacted unless something happened. Other than accompanying her when she went out, Hua Yuyu usually stayed out of sight. Sometimes, Bai Hanyun even forgot that he lived in her front yard.
Just as Bai Hanyun returned to her bedroom and took the antique mirror out of her backpack, it began to glow brightly.
"Ouch!"
Stung by the sudden light, she instinctively closed her eyes and scolded the antique mirror. "Do you want to blind me? How many times have I told you not to light up without warning?"
As if displeased by her complaint, the antique mirror glowed even brighter.
"Heaven! Tone it down!" Bai Hanyun exclaimed, shielding her eyes with her hands.
Eventually, the light dimmed, and Bai Hanyun opened her eyes. Glaring at the antique mirror, she poked its surface and asked, "What is wrong with you? Are you sick again?"
Just as she was glaring at it, the antique mirror’s surface suddenly changed. Seeing this, Bai Hanyun leaned in curiously.
The moment her eyes fell on the image reflected in the antique mirror, they widened in surprise.
Staring at the black fog hovering above the camp below, Bai Hanyun curiously asked the antique mirror, "Why are you showing me this? Where is this?"
In response to her question, the image slowly zoomed in until Bai Hanyun saw people wearing clothes made from animal skins and coarse cloth.
She observed them closely and noticed that most had braided hair and beards, tanned skin, and thick brows.
Rubbing her chin, Bai Hanyun muttered, "They look very different from Feng Xiyan and the others. Could it be... these people are from the Yuezhi Tribe?"
While she was still observing, the image changed again. This time, it showed a tent with dozens of soldiers guarding it from the outside.
Unable to understand why the antique mirror was showing her this, Bai Hanyun asked, "What do you want me to do by showing me this?"
After her question, the image zoomed in once more.
As the antique mirror revealed the inside of the tent, Bai Hanyun saw two men wearing clothes in the same style as Feng Xiyan, sitting among the Yuezhi Tribe people.
"Hmm? Why are people from the Yu Empire dining with these people?"
Just as she was pondering this, the antique mirror briefly flashed, and voices echoed through her bedroom.
"Second Young Master Wen, it is our honor to have you visit us personally," said the man sitting at the main seat, addressing the young man in red sitting below him.
Picking up a bronze wine cup, Wen Yirui took a calm sip. After setting it down, he said, "I’m here on behalf of my father and paternal aunt to ask when you plan to fulfill your promise."
Hearing this, Kai Mu’s expression darkened. He sneered inwardly and thought, ’How dare he question me after failing to hold up their end of the agreement!’
Though angry, Kai Mu masked his feelings with a chuckle. "Second Young Master Wen is joking. We haven’t received anything from Prime Minister Wen or Empress Dowager Wen. How can you expect us to act without compensation?"
Wen Yirui’s face darkened at his words. He grabbed the bronze wine cup and threw it to the ground.
Thud!
The moment the bronze wine cup hit the floor, the Yuezhi Tribe generals and the Wen Clan’s guards drew their swords simultaneously.
Watching this unfold through the antique mirror’s surface, Bai Hanyun exclaimed, "Oh my! This is more exciting than a scene from the costume drama I recently followed! No, this is too exciting! I need to get some snacks!"
Clutching the antique mirror, she hurried downstairs toward the kitchen. Meanwhile, inside the tent, the atmosphere grew increasingly tense.
Staring at Wen Yirui, Kai Mu sneered. "Second Young Master Wen, what do you mean by this?"
Wen Yirui flicked his sleeves arrogantly and said, "Presumptuous! How dare you question me? One word from me, and the Wen Army will crush your Yuezhi Tribe to dust!"
Hearing this, not only Kai Mu but also the Yuezhi Tribe generals were enraged.
One of the generals spat on the ground and said, "Bah! Just a weak chicken! Do you think I wouldn’t dare kill you?!"
Wen Yirui snorted and raised his chin proudly at the general’s words. "This young master will stand right here. Let’s see if you truly dare to touch me."
Wen Yirui’s arrogant words break the last string of the general’s patience. The general charged forward as he shouted, "Let me see if you can still talk after I chop off your head!"
Just when his sword was an inch away from Wen Yirui’s neck, Kai Mu slapped the table and shouted, "Enough!"
The general halted and turned to him in frustration. "Supreme General, we can’t let this arrogant brat humiliate us like this!"
The moment his words fell, Kai Mu silenced him with a cold glance.
Knowing there was no point in continuing negotiations with Wen Yirui in this situation, Kai Mu clapped twice. Soon, three beautiful women entered the tent. freewёbnoνel.com
As soon as Wen Yirui saw them, his eyes locked on their half-naked bodies and veiled faces.
Seeing his reaction, Kai Mu sneered inwardly. ’What an idiot. One day, he will die under a woman’s skirt.’
Though he was sneering at Wen Yirui’s lustful expression, Kai Mu laughed and said, "Second Young Master Wen, I have heard of your fondness for beauties. These are the finest women of my tribe, prepared especially to entertain you."
