My Borderline Supervillain-Slash-Hero System-Chapter 64 The Indomitable Spirit
Chapter 64: Chapter 64 The Indomitable Spirit
Just as Zane stepped outside of the circle of web of the Blazing magic, somehow the trap got disengage and the flame disappeared revealing the blackened ambers and ground.
Zane continued forward and he swung the blade cutting the grassy ground and thereby triggering the next magical trap.
Next, he saw a black mist of storm growing slowly.
The trap of dark storm.
This time he felt that he was brought into a world of storm as the surrounding darken.
This time he knew exactly what he should do.
He sheathed the blade in the lathery strap on his back and moved forward casually.
His eyes could see through the mana. And the turbulent wind was useless to him as he was now carrying a load of over 15 tons.
To him the wind that he felt on his body back when riding the Corrupted Phoenix was many fold better than this speed of wind.
Minutes later he came through the storm of mist and stepped out the circle of that trap and the wind storm ceased to exist.
He could now see the place without any mana. In between there was only one trap left here.
He moved forward.
Stepping inside the web of trap, the concentrated mana at the core of this trap activated and reacted quickly. This time, it didn’t release anything.
Nothing changed inside that place.
Zane wondered what kind of trap this was. After waiting for minutes nothing happened.
He shook his head continued moving forward. Just as his left leg lifted in the air within the range of that trap, he quickly understood the nature of this trap. He activated Luminous Step and quickly pulled out
"Earth elemental mana trap— the Gravity law!" he mused in excitement.
If others faced this trap, they would be disheartened as the gravity was too high that within the trap the normal weight outside was magnified almost twenty fold.
He registered in his head doing the mathematics. If one kg was outside then here it would weight 20 kg. So his weight is over 15 tone that makes his weight inside the trap, 300 ton.
This weight was too much even for Zane here.
The System Chimed and a new notification unfolded in his vision.
Ding!

[Endure 30 Minutes = +450 points will be granted to all stats]
[Endure 1 Hour = +560 points will be granted to all stats]
Zane reading the notification was totally overjoy, The system was becoming more and more reliable.
Bearing the weight of 300 ton/ 300k Kilogram was a tough challenge. However, after all those training and thinking that his mentor Shelby was bearing over 13 million Kg / 13,ooo ton of weight, he had a strong believe that he could do it.
He must do it.
With unwavering resolve, Zane activated Luminous Step and stepped into the heart of the gravity trap.
The moment his foot crossed the invisible boundary, it was as if an invisible mountain slammed into him from above.
BOOM!
A monstrous suction force pulled him straight down, slamming his body face-first into the dirt. A harsh timer appeared in his vision, ticking mercilessly. He tried to push himself up—but couldn’t. His limbs wouldn’t budge. Even twitching a finger felt like trying to lift a collapsed building.
A crushing weight—300 tons—pressed on him, merciless and absolute.
Zane groaned, his teeth grinding as pain surged like molten lava through his bones. Every part of his body screamed. Muscles tore, bones cracked, blood vessels burst. His entire system was on the verge of collapse.
His health bar nosedived.
His ribs felt like they were grinding into powder. A cough escaped his lips—blood splattered across the ground.
Every instinct, every shred of ego inside him howled for surrender.
"Just remove the Arcane Rings!"
"End this agony!"
"This isn’t training anymore, this is suicide!"
And yet...
Zane’s mind roared louder than those voices.
No.
If he gave up here, he’d never surpass his so-called father. He’d never uncover the truth about his mother’s disappearance. He’d never reach the peak.
His resolve turned steel. He clenched his bloodied fists and held on.
Then came the System’s warning—
Ding!
[WARNING!]
[Host’s body is continuously breaking down!]
[You have 30 seconds to remove the Arcane Rings before permanent damage occurs.]
30...29...28...
Zane’s eyes flickered. His health bar flashed like a dying flame.
But still—he resisted. He grit his teeth and let out a mental snarl:
"I’m not giving up... Screw your countdown, screw your warnings!"
Every passing second was pure torture.
His HP continued its suicidal descent.
[Health Bar: 9 / 1200]
Danger! Health at critical threshold!
[Permission to remove Arcane Rings automatically? Y/N]
He couldn’t even speak aloud anymore. His jaw barely moved. So he shouted inside his mind with everything he had left:
"NO MEANS NO, SHITHEAD!"
Just as his HP dropped to 5, Zane finally caved.
"System... Expel the Arcane Rings!" he screamed mentally.
But something unexpected happened.
[Failure to Expel Arcane Rings!]
"What!?" his thoughts exploded in panic.
Then he heard a familiar voice, echoing sharply in his mind.
"This stupid seed is just reacting now?! At this time!? Curse you!"
Zane’s eyes widened faintly. He knew that voice.
Heron.
He gasped internally—then everything went dark.
His consciousness slipped.
He accepted death without regret...
...until suddenly, he felt it.
A warmth—deep inside his gut.
It grew hotter... and hotter... spreading like a healing fire.
Zane’s eyes snapped open.
He was still in the gravity trap. Still beneath 300 tons of crushing pressure. But now—something had changed.
Ding!
[Analyzing Host’s Body Completed.]
[The Strange Seed hibernating within your body has activated.]
[It detected critical condition and is now reconstructing bones, muscles, organs, and vessels.]
[Healing Progress: 57% Completed]
A wave of relief flooded his mind.
He lay still for a moment, breathing harshly, feeling the bones in his limbs stitch back together, his muscles tighten and repair, and the burst vessels re-knit like mending threads.
"The seed... it’s healing me."
Mentally, he asked the System:
"What is this seed?"
[You are not yet ready to know.]
Typical, Zane thought.
Still—he was alive. The pain was ebbing. The weight was still immense, but... bearable.
He moved his fingers. Then his arm. Then—his torso.
With gritted teeth, he crawled upright, each motion slow, precise, and painful.
Eventually, he forced himself into a sitting position, crossed his legs, and exhaled sharply.
He breathed in.
Breathed out.
His HP was climbing again.
In his vision, the timer glowed faintly—still ticking.
13 minutes.
