My Childhood Bully is a Mafia Boss-Chapter 112
Giovanni
"You may stay back here," I instructed Sam, gesturing towards the luxurious Roles Royce waiting at the curb. The sleek black exterior gleamed under the lights of the city.
"Capo?" Sam looked at me questioningly.
"I will be driving them myself tonight," I announced as I opened the door.
"Va Bene. I will follow closely behind," Sam said.
I nodded. "That’s fine."
I helped Ellie put Elora and Lucas into their car seats and then opened the passenger door for her. "After you, my love," I said, offering her my hand. She took it with a smile and climbed into the car, settling into the plush leather seats.
I closed the door behind her and walked around to the driver’s side. I wanted to take the time to enjoy her and the children on our drive without my men watching.
"Oh!" Ellie suddenly gasped when we were halfway there.
I looked at her with worry. "What is it?"
"I didn’t get Ivy a gift!" she exclaimed.
"It’s alright, love," I reassured Ellie, glancing at her worried expression. "We will pick something up on the way." I reached out to gently squeeze her hand, my eyes focused on the road ahead as we made our way through the city.
As we pulled up to the elegant boutique, Ellie’s eyes lit up with excitement at the sight of the window displays filled with sparkling jewelry and luxurious accessories. I parked the car and turned to her, unable to resist a smile at her childlike enthusiasm.
I got out of the car and opened the door for her. Ellie practically skipped out of the car, her face glowing with delight.
But then she looked back and furrowed her brows. "The kids..."
"I will take care of the kids," I said, taking Elora and Lucas out of the car seat.
"Where are we going?" Lucas asked excitedly. "I thought we were going to see Uncle Aidan and Auntie Ivy!"
"We are, Piccolino," I replied, ruffling his hair gently. "But first, your mother needs to pick out a very special gift for Auntie Ivy."
Lucas clapped his hands in excitement, his eyes wide with curiosity. "Can I help pick it out, Mama?"
Ellie smiled down at him, a warm glow in her eyes. "Of course you can, my darling. Let’s find something beautiful for Auntie Ivy together."
As we walked into the boutique, the shop assistant greeted us with a polite nod and a warm smile. Ellie wandered off to a display of delicate necklaces, each one twinkling under the soft lights.
I saw her eyeing a necklace as she lingered in front of the display, but she shook her head and moved on to the next one.
Lucas pointed excitedly at a silver locket nestled among the rows of jewelry. "Mama, look! This one is shiny like the stars in the sky."
Ellie looked unsure. "It looks expensive."
"Don’t worry about the cost," I interjected.
"It’s pretty, Mommy," Lucas insisted, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
Ellie looked at me with an unsure expression. "I will pay you back...eventually."
I shook my head, a smile playing on my lips. "Consider it a gift from all of us. And besides," I paused and caressed her cheek. "You will never have to worry about paying me back, Bella. Ever."
"Thank you, Giovanni," she whispered.
Lucas beamed with pride, happy to have been a part of choosing the gift. "She’s going to love it, Mommy!"
"Take the children and go back to the car while I pay for this," I instructed, my voice firm but gentle. Ellie nodded, her long red hair falling in loose waves over her shoulders as she took Elora off my hands and headed outside.
I waited for a few moments, then finally, I made my way towards the display where Ellie had been lingering just moments ago.
My eyes fell on a magnificent emerald necklace glistening under the soft light, casting a mesmerizing glow that seemed to dance with every movement.
I could picture Ellie wearing it, the emeralds complementing her eyes, making them shine even brighter. It was as if the necklace was made for her, a perfect match for her beauty and grace. I knew at that moment that this was the gift she deserved.
With a sense of determination, I called over the jeweler, my voice steady despite the excitement bubbling inside me. "I would like to purchase that emerald necklace with this locket," I said.
The jeweler carefully lifted the necklace from its display case, I felt a rush of anticipation building within me. This was more than just a piece of jewelry; it was a promise, a symbol of everything I felt for Ellie.
With both gifts in hand, I made my way back to the car where Ellie and the children were waiting.
"Ready to go?" I asked once I settled into the driver’s seat.
Ellie nodded, and I started driving.
As we stopped in front of Aidan’s mansion, Ellie tried to get out of the car, eager to see her brother, but I grabbed her arm. "Wait," I husked.
She looked at me questioningly. "What’s wrong."
"There is something I need to do first," I said. "Close your eyes," I whispered.
Ellie looked at me suspiciously. "Why?"
"Just do it. I promise you won’t regret it," I said, smiling mischievously.
With a small laugh, Ellie indulged me and closed her eyes. I carefully fastened the beautiful emerald necklace around her neck, feeling her pulse quicken beneath my fingertips.
"You can open your eyes now," I said.
Ellie’s eyes fluttered open, and as she caught sight of the dazzling emerald necklace in the rearview mirror, her breath caught in her throat. Ellie’s hand instinctively flew to her chest, feeling the weight of the precious stones against her collarbone.
"Oh my goodness," Ellie gasped, her eyes widening in disbelief. "Giovanni, this is... It’s too much."
I could see the emotions swirling in her eyes – gratitude, astonishment, and a hint of unease. She turned to me, her expression dark.
"I can’t accept something this expensive," Ellie murmured softly, her fingers tracing the contours of the necklace.
I raised an eyebrow. "You are trying to reject my gift, Bella? I thought we were starting to become friends?"
"Y...yes...but. This necklace. It’s so beautiful and elegant. I don’t deserve something like this. It doesn’t suit me and..." she started to ramble, but I decided to shut her up by covering her mouth with mine.
The softness of her lips against mine silenced her protests as I poured all the passion and adoration I held for her into the kiss. When we finally broke apart, Ellie’s eyes were wide with surprise, her cheeks flushed with a delicate pink hue.
"You deserve the world, cara mia," I whispered, my voice filled with sincerity. "And if this necklace is what it takes to show you even a fraction of how much you mean to me, then it’s worth every gem and every penny."
Ellie’s eyes glistened with unshed tears, shimmering like the emeralds adorning her neck. Her touch on my cheek was gentle and warm, like a ray of sunlight on a cool night. "Giovanni, I...I don’t know what to say," she whispered.
"Then don’t say anything," I replied softly, bringing her delicate hand to my lips and placing a tender kiss on her knuckles. "Just know that you are cherished beyond measure."
Her voice trembled as she spoke again. "I...if you are trying to buy my affection with jewelry and pretty words, then it’s...it’s kind of working."
I couldn’t help but chuckle at her honesty and vulnerability.
