My Cold and Ruthless CEO Wife-Chapter 29: Assassination (3): A Bounty Target
Long Tian stepped out of the smoke, his clothes riddled with holes, yet there was no scratch on his skin.
The power of the Nine Dragon Art impressed him. His body was protected under the Draconic Runes.
The stronger he gets, the stronger the runes.
His cold gaze fell upon the eight men; he was ready to slaughter them.
"Impossible!"
One of the eight men roared out in fear.
They could all see the holes in his clothes, yet they couldn’t see or smell blood.
Fear gripped their hearts when one opened fire on Long Tian.
CLANG!
They froze at the sound, watching as the bullet dropped harmlessly to the ground before Long Tian.
This was only something they watched on TV, but now they were seeing the real version of it.
The seven men apart from the leader took steps backward, their horrified gaze on Long Tian.
The smoke cleared, and they saw the dead body of their comrade. Their eyes were wide open even after their death.
Long Tian stepped forward, and the fear of death made them open fire, but no harm was done to Long Tian.
Their leader was frozen in fear for seconds, watching as Long Tian slowly approached him with cold, menacing eyes.
"Were you sent, or are you trying to claim the bounty for my head?" Long Tian asked coldly.
Even though the middle-aged man said those words, he didn’t believe him. He preferred to find out the truth of a matter by himself.
Their leader replied shakily, "We are here to claim the bounty."
Long Tian nodded, and the leader heaved a sigh of relief.
Suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his forehead. He wanted to touch it, but all strength left him.
His eyes widened as he looked at Long Tian. He collapsed dead.
The broken shard of glass pierced through his forehead.
The others watched as their leader was killed by Long Tian.
"I didn’t say I wouldn’t kill you." Long Tian muttered when he saw the disbelief and unwillingness in the leader’s eyes.
He glanced at the other seven, and before they could react, they were already lying on the ground dead.
All had glass shards pierced through their foreheads. Their eyes remained wide open even in death.
Long Tian brushed the dust off his clothes; he knew that with the commotion, the police team and a lot of people would be alarmed.
This was why he didn’t make use of a gun to kill them but glass shards. This was to erase all traces of him.
And he also needed to leave before anyone arrived.
But he had to settle something first.
Long Tian ran into the forest.
The sniper, who was on a distant hill, watched all of this in shock. He wanted to shoot at first, but when he saw that even with the open fire, no harm was done to Long Tian.
He didn’t dare shoot in order not to expose his location.
Without hesitation, he turned and ran into the forest for his life after seeing that everyone else had died. He didn’t dare look back.
He hadn’t run far when he saw a shadow standing in front of him.
The sniper froze.
A figure stood silently between the trees.
Long Tian.
He immediately stopped, trying to turn back, but everywhere began to turn black.
His eyes widened as he realized he had been caught in the jaws of death.
Long Tian’s eyes remained emotionless as the sniper collapsed lifelessly to the ground.
Without another glance, Long Tian disappeared into the depths of the forest.
The night fell silent once again.
A few minutes later, the distant wail of police sirens shattered the quiet forest.
The police car stopped when they reached the scene. They saw nine dead bodies and the burnt car, and the exploded part was all over the scene.
Reporters came in not long after, trying to record this; even the police tried to stop them as some teams began investigating what happened.
The police had barely begun securing the area when the roar of heavy engines echoed from the road.
VROOM! VROOM! VROOM!
Three armored vehicles rolled into the scene.
Everyone paused, surprised at their arrival.
They watched as twenty men stepped out, wearing bulletproof vests with the words "Huaxia Special Police" imprinted on the back.
"We would take it from here." A young Chinese man came forward and told the policemen.
The policemen nodded and drove away from the scene.
News of the mysterious massacre quickly spread through the underground world.
In a dimly lit office located in a deserted building, a burly man burst through the door holding
"Boss, that young man has become a hot deal in the underworld."
The tattooed young man’s expression furrowed. "Which young man?"
Since the lady encountered Long Tian, the boss had dropped all the shady business he was doing and turned a new leaf.
He feared Long Tian might return.
The burly man brought his phone before the boss. When the tattooed young man saw Long Tian’s picture on the screen, he was shocked.
Seeing there was a bounty on his head with the reward of 1 billion dollars, his shock grew as he opened his mouth wide.
He then shook his head. "We can’t participate in such things."
Going for Long Tian’s head was akin to death.
While the underworld buzzed with excitement over the bounty, another man was quietly observing the situation.
Inside a luxurious villa, Huang Yin sat in his private study when the butler entered.
He raised his head, removing his glasses.
"So how are things going?" He asked the butler.
"Master, nine dead bodies were discovered, and with machinery and weapons found as evidence, they are from the underground forces. But the body of the young man couldn’t be found. From what I can deduce, I am ninety percent certain that the young man is an ancient martial artist but I am not sure of the depth of his strength."
The butler passed the news to him.
"Hmmm, really?" Huang Yin wasn’t shocked; he just chuckled.
"Let the underworld forces help us find the depth of his strength before we make our move." He said, his eyes burned in hatred and killing intent.
