"BREAKING NEWS: Authorities have discovered ten bodies and a burnt taxi riddled with bullet holes on a deserted road in Shanghai late last night..."

Long Tian walked out of an antique store in a new set of clothes when the report appeared on the massive city screen.

Images of the burnt taxi flashed across the screen. The faces of the dead men had been blurred to conceal their identities.

Long Tian watched silently before shaking his head at how fast the police had reacted.

At that moment, everyone was watching the news—whether at work or at home—as it was broadcast on every television channel.

He could hear the murmurs and the gasps of shock of the crowd in the bustling streets.

"Is this an action film or what? Look at the bullets littering the ground like stones."

"I wonder what caused this action."

"Wait, does it mean that we aren’t safe anymore."

The crowd’s discussion quickly turned chaotic, everyone fearing for their life.

Using the chaos, he quietly slipped away.

His plans for the day had already been disrupted by the bounty placed on his head.

Worse still, the people close to him could easily become targets.

In this world, people had no limits. They would not hesitate to use others as leverage to achieve their goals.

This meant Meng Lingxue and Aunt Anna were now in extreme danger.

He boarded a taxi, immediately heading back to the villa.

But when he saw the three armoured vehicles that blocked their road, he was surprised.

The door of the special car opened and a young chinese man came out followed by five more men. They were wearing bulletproof vests with the words "Huaxia Special Police" imprinted on the back.

Long Tian shook his head bitterly. He knew they had come for him.

He hadn’t expected it to be this fast, just a few hours after the scene and they had found out his location.

He might have underestimated China’s police team.

This caused commotion and hold-up. No one could complain because they couldn’t offend them but it didn’t stop them from discussing what was happening.

The young Chinese man walked towards the taxi while the five men followed him with their guns.

He walked to the windscreen of where Long Tian was sitting.

Long Tian sized up this young man, he had an attractive face and he could tell the young man was no ordinary person.

The young man also sized Long Tian up.

"Mr. Long Tian. It’s nice meeting you. I would like you to follow me to the station as a prime suspect." He said, his voice beheld no mercy.

Long Tian chuckled, "Officer, may I know my offense? This is an infringement of my rights. No evidence has been presented."

The young man grinned, he drew his face closer to Long Tian.

"You and I should know why you are arrested as the prime suspect and it’s for your benefit. As for evidence...."

He waved his hand and one of the men stepped forward to meet him and passed the evidence bag to the young man.

"If this isn’t enough, I’m sure one word will explain everything."

"Bounty."

Long Tian smiled with an unchanged expression but inwardly, he realised he had underestimated the Chinese authorities.

The young man signaled the man beside him to open the door.

Long Tian stepped out when he saw they had opened the taxi door, the taxi driver was already sweating on what passenger he carried.

As Long Tian walked out, the man tried to handcuff him but with a cold glare from Long Tian, he flinched back.

The young man’s lips slowly curled up into a smile when he saw this. It seems their thoughts were spot on.

The man looked at him but the young man waved his hands off.

The man allowed Long Tian to walk, the five of them surrounded him like an escaped prisoner.

Long Tian stopped and turned to the young man, "Officer, you guys didn’t arrest me but I willingly follow you. There’s no need to keep things strict, I am not running."

"I hope so.." The young man chuckled.

He ordered them to give him space as they walked towards the armoured vehicle.

Within seconds, the videos became the hot topic, news carrying it and everyone discussing about it.

Meng Lingxue was in charge of the meeting, listening as teams gave their feedback. Murong Chen was also among them.

Suddenly, her phone rang and saw the caller ID, "Aunt Anna."

She was surprised as she knew Aunt Anna doesn’t call at this time and she was aware of his set rules and regulations.

She paused the meeting , then proceeded to pick the call.

Everyone in the meeting was surprised because it was rare for their CEO to pick calls during meetings.

"Young miss, check the news." Aunt Anna’s panicked voice came through the phone.

Murong Chen turned to Wen Xin who was at her right, "Put on the television."

Wen Xin did so, everyone was surprised by her words. Did something bad happen?

"BREAKING NEWS: A young man has been arrested by the special police force. We verified this through an informant that the armoured vehicle appeared at the scene where ten men died with a burnt car riddled with holes..."

They all watched this, each starting their discussion as they were aware of what happened this morning.
