“Anton, I feel like I’m now ready to memorize my second novice spell!” Kirk said excitedly. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

Anton just nodded and told Kirk that he could start memorizing the mage armor spell. He expected that after an hour or two of memorization and casting spells, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul would soon follow Kirk.

The speed at which they increased their magical capacity was expected since they were in range of Anton’s Meditation Aura, and the suite was saturated with what the other wizards called “Tamed” mana because of the mana that was being released from the Mirror Mana Power Bank that Anton had made especially for the four.

The time was just around six in the evening. Anton planned to watch movies at around eight, so the four novice wizards had a couple more hours of spell memorization. In the meantime, Anton went outside to look for Ishmael.

Anton found the innkeeper manning the counter on the first floor.

“Anton! Are we still going to watch your magical theater tonight?” The fat innkeeper.

“They’re called movies. I will start at around eight in the evening. Can you send dinner to us at seven?” Anton asked, and the innkeeper nodded enthusiastically, promising that he did not need to pay as long as he continued to allow him and his family to watch movies with him and his apprentices.

After securing their dinner for tonight, Anton returned to his suite and headed to his room. He then wasted his time watching short videos from the most famous short video platform and only stopped when he heard Kirk’s voice saying that the innkeeper sent their dinner.

Anton joined everyone, and while they were eating, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul informed Anton that they were now also ready to start memorizing their second novice spell.

“You’re sure that you’re all ready? It’s not a competition, so make sure that you’re truly ready because if you’re not, you’ll receive a backlash that would cause damage to your mana capacity. If that happens, you will need to rest for several days before you can start memorizing spells again. That will truly let you fall behind. Remember that kind of impact was only for novice spells. If the backlash was caused by higher-level spells, the impact would be bigger,” Anton told the three, but they assured him that they were ready.

After that, they talked about the magical sea creatures that they had seen in the aquarium. They basically talked about how magical the world truly was. Kirk and the others then declared that once they had become truly powerful wizards, they would explore the world.

Once the food was all gone, Ishmael returned with his family and a couple of helpers who cleaned everything, then everyone went to sit in the chairs before the white blanket that was pinned to one of the walls.

Anton had already decided that he would watch the live-action Disney’s Little Mermaid since he still wanted to continue the ocean vibe that they had going on. Since he had seen The Little Mermaid animated films several times, he wanted to check out the difference between it and the live-action film. After that, he planned to watch the Disney animated film Moana since he had not seen it before.

Even though he warned Ishmael that some of the movies that he would show might not be suitable for children, Anton still took into account that the innkeeper’s children were too young and he did not want to traumatize them. They were already living in a world where the undead were attacking one of their kingdom’s gates; he did not want to add to their fears.

Previously, he had thought of watching the horror film Jaws, since he had not seen it before, and the science fiction film The Abyss, as it was always included in the lists of the best movies set in the ocean that people submitted when he searched the internet, but because of the innkeeper asking for his children to watch the films as well, he had decided to watch a more kid-friendly films. Besides, he had not seen the live-action Little Mermaid or the film Moana either.

Everyone knew that the films would still be sea-related since Anton had already informed everyone about them the night before.

When the movies started, everyone, including Anton, was hooked. Once the live-action Little Mermaid had concluded, Anton had to admit that the black girl they had chosen to play Ariel had a good singing voice, but he still liked the animated film better. The animated film had the magic in full that the Disney movies had. Thankfully, the others had not seen the animated movie, so they were all enamored by the live-action Little Mermaid movie.

After the film had ended, Anton was still in the mood to watch another movie, so he told everyone that he would play the second film. Even though everyone had questions about the films, like how they were made, where they were made, and more, Anton did not want to entertain them, so he just kept telling everyone that they were magic and just played the second film he had chosen to watch that night.

After the Disney film Moana had ended, everyone clapped, including Anton. He liked the film and was glad of his decision to watch movies that he had not seen before during this vacation.

“Tomorrow, I will still be watching ocean-related films, but they will be horror films. Meaning they’re not suited for children because they’re scary,” Anton announced, looking at the innkeeper specifically since he was the only one who brought children.

Anton almost laughed out loud when he saw the innkeeper’s kids looking at their father with begging eyes. They knew that Anton did not forbid anyone from watching and threw the responsibility to their father.

Ishmael capitulated when he saw his children’s eyes.

“There’s nothing scarier than the undead attacking our kingdom anyway,” Ishmael whispered, and Anton finally laughed.

“Another rule. Please don’t ask me questions about the movie’s setting. Just remember that they came from another dimension and that meant that they had a different culture and technology,” Anton reminded everyone.

He remembered the time when Anton was enthusiastic about explaining movie-making to everyone, but now, he just felt lazy doing so. Thankfully, Kirk, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul were focused more on their magic, so they did not bother him about the films and treated them as entertaining pastimes that they were.

Everyone spent another hour talking about the two movies, and everyone was enthusiastically doing so, including Anton. It was a nice end to the day they had. After that, the innkeeper left with his family while Kirk, Mesono, Omar, and Abdul continued memorizing their spell. They told Anton that they would stop when they got tired and would sleep in their suite once they felt that it was time for them to rest.

In the meantime, Anton went to his room and used a town portal scroll to return to the Rose Manor. Once he was back, he immediately cast the Blizzard spell that was converted into Mana Rain. After a minute, Raymond arrived.

The butler brought some pastries and tea. While Anton was eating, Raymond told him that Anders was in the dungeon. The butler also told him that Luna and Alfred were clamoring for the next episodes of Avatar, so he gave the next three to Raymond to give to the kids.

Anton then remembered that he only had seven high-level mana stones with him, so he asked Raymond to get ten from the treasure room, and after the butler handed the stones to him, he immediately returned to New Drennor.
