My First Love Died, Now My Step Uncle Wants Me-Chapter 135: Dirty, and I Must Wash Again
Caleb Rhodes gripped his phone tightly and said to the driver, "Faster! Floor it!"
Just then, the traffic light suddenly turned red.
Caleb Rhodes’s expression darkened. "Run it," he said coldly.
Fortunately, there were few people or cars on the road at that moment. The car shot forward at maximum horsepower and quickly arrived at the hotel.
As soon as Caleb Rhodes entered the hotel lobby, he saw Willson Lawson and the manager. The manager was smiling obsequiously. "Miss Wynn is in the hot spring room..."
Caleb Rhodes’s face was exceptionally grim. He grabbed the manager’s wrist. "Which room? Take me there now!"
The moment he pushed the door open, Caleb Rhodes understood everything.
Nina Wynn was curled up by the edge of the hot spring pool, her clothes in disarray. Her forehead and face were smeared with blood. Her bathrobe had been torn open, revealing large patches of skin covered in red marks.
A man lay a meter or two away from her with a knife sticking out of his back. It was impossible to tell if he was alive or dead; all that could be seen was the blood pooling beneath him into a small stream.
Veins bulged on Caleb Rhodes’s forehead and neck. The murderous intent in his eyes swirled into a black storm. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
He took off his jacket, went to Nina Wynn, and wrapped her in it. He pulled her forcefully into his arms. "Don’t be afraid. I’m here."
His heart twisted into a knot. He had never imagined that something like this would happen on his own turf, right under his nose.
A flicker of light seemed to return to Nina Wynn’s vacant eyes. She opened her mouth and finally made a sound. "I killed someone..."
"He bit me, tore my clothes, and stuck his tongue in my mouth..."
"I couldn’t take it, so I stabbed him with a knife. He’s bleeding so much. Is he going to die?"
Caleb Rhodes pressed her forcefully into his embrace, kissing her delicate cheeks again and again. "It’s okay. If he dies, he dies. Don’t be afraid."
"My sweet girl, don’t be afraid. It’s my fault. I didn’t protect you. Don’t be afraid. I’m here now. Everything will be okay."
He could feel Nina Wynn trembling, her teeth chattering uncontrollably. He swept her up into his arms, holding her tightly against him.
He patted her back gently, soothing her like a baby. "There, there, don’t be afraid. You just killed a piece of scum, that’s all. It’s okay. Just get some sleep, and everything will be fine tomorrow."
Just then, Willson Lawson went over and turned the man on the ground over. He held a hand to the man’s nose to check for breath and asked in a low voice, "Third Lord Master, he’s not dead yet. What should we do?"
Caleb Rhodes didn’t speak. He readjusted the jacket wrapped around Nina Wynn, covering her completely. Then he pressed her head into his chest and covered her ears with one hand.
Then, he held his hand out to Willson Lawson, as if asking for something.
Willson Lawson hesitated for a moment before saying in a low voice, "No, you can’t kill him here. This is a public place!"
Caleb Rhodes’s voice was as cold as a block of ice. "Then find a place to skin him alive and throw him in the river to feed the fish!"
At that moment, the manager, who had been too terrified to even breathe, said tremblingly, "President Rhodes, I know this man. His name is Felix Walsh. He’s Quentin Walsh’s son. Quentin Walsh is the biggest real estate developer around here. He’s very influential. I’m afraid there will be trouble if you kill his son!"
A vicious glint flashed in Caleb Rhodes’s eyes. The manager felt a chill run down his spine and quickly lowered his head.
Just then, Nina Wynn stirred in Caleb Rhodes’s arms. Her voice sounded fragile. "Caleb, I feel sick... I want to throw up..."
Caleb Rhodes’s arms around her tightened. He glanced at the man on the floor, his voice practically radiating cold air. "Keep him alive. A death like this would be letting him off too easy!"
With that, he carried Nina Wynn and walked out.
He paused at the doorway, his voice chilling to the bone. "Dig up all the information on the Walsh Family. I want the results within a day."
"And, Manager Landon, this happened in your hotel. I’m displeased with every single person who attended the banquet today."
The manager didn’t come to his senses until long after Caleb Rhodes had left. He asked, trembling, "Nancy, what did the Third Lord Master mean? I don’t understand."
Willson Lawson said, "Just seal off the top floor. Everyone who attended today is going to be in trouble. Their good days are over."
The manager’s face turned even paler. He looked at the man on the floor and stammered, "What about him?"
Willson Lawson walked over, kicked the man, and tutted sympathetically. "Poor guy. It would’ve been better if he’d just died now. The Third Lord Master plans to deal with him personally."
"Call an ambulance. Don’t let him die. I can’t complete my task if he’s dead!"
In just a short while, a large number of police cars had gathered at the hotel entrance.
Many of Aethelburg’s prominent figures were escorted away from the banquet hall. No one knew what had happened, only that someone had offended a hidden, powerful figure. Anyone connected to that person was rounded up.
Inside the presidential suite, Caleb Rhodes carefully placed Nina Wynn into the bathtub.
When he took off her bathrobe, his eyes instantly turned red.
He saw that Nina Wynn’s arms, chest, neck, and legs were covered in red marks and fingerprints.
Her lips were also split, and blood was still trickling down from her forehead.
The skin on her back was also scraped raw in many places, a clear sign of a fierce struggle.
Caleb Rhodes closed his eyes and took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing the bloodthirsty beast that raged within him.
He took a soft towel and gently began to wash Nina Wynn’s body.
Nina Wynn’s eyes were unfocused. Her hands gripped his clothes tightly, not letting go, as she allowed him to clean her.
After Caleb Rhodes had washed her entire body once, she said softly, "So dirty. Wash it again."
Caleb Rhodes kissed her delicate face and said in a low voice, "You’re not dirty. My Nina is the cleanest."
Nina Wynn’s voice was hollow. "Dirty. I need to wash again."
With that, she snatched the towel from Caleb Rhodes’s hand and began scrubbing the red marks on her skin.
With some unknown strength, she scrubbed the marks until the skin broke.
Only when they started to bleed did she seem satisfied, and then she moved on to the next red mark.
Caleb watched her, the storm in his eyes growing terrifyingly intense.
As Nina Wynn started to scrub the third red mark raw, he calmly took the towel from her, refilled the tub with fresh water, and washed her once more.
This time, he washed her for a long time, only stopping when her entire body had turned red from the friction.
When he lifted Nina Wynn out of the bathtub, she suddenly said, "I need to brush my teeth. It’s dirty!"
Caleb Rhodes wrapped her in a large towel, set her down in front of the vanity, and handed her a toothbrush with toothpaste already on it.
She took the toothbrush mechanically and began to brush her teeth.
After a moment, Caleb Rhodes saw a large amount of blood-red foam spilling from her mouth. He stepped forward and snatched the toothbrush from her hand.
He then gave her a cup of water to rinse her mouth.
When he gently opened her mouth to check, Caleb Rhodes saw that she had scraped the inside of her cheeks raw. The tender red flesh was still bleeding.
His chest heaved violently a few times, and he closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, the murderous aura around him had been forcibly suppressed. He let go of Nina Wynn’s chin and moved to carry her out.
Nina Wynn stared fixedly at her reflection in the mirror, her hands gripping the edge of the vanity. "Dirty. I need to wash more. Brush my teeth more."
Caleb Rhodes lifted her up, set her on the counter, tilted her chin up, and began to kiss her.
His kiss was rough and forceful, so powerful it seemed he wanted to merge her into his very bones and blood.
