My Goddess is Good at Pretending-Chapter 647: Aegis Starship
"So, that merchant got a title as a rookie pirate hunter on its first day after registration. Their first stepping stone is a tier-3 pirate at that? Swashbuckler has the combat power equivalent to a Viscount. Even an Earl-level fleet needs to be wary of this kind of vermin. How can this merchant destroy this pest bunch and capture them all without casualties?" Euphemia furrowed her brows, feeling suspicious.
"According to our recent intel and the results of the interrogation of the captured pirates, the Guardian of Dream possessed formidable combat power and was said to be on par with a Duke-class fleet." Bart checked the report.
Even though it was a bit suspicious, he wouldn’t bother with it. It was most likely a particular Duke’s descendant went out to gain some experience under disguise, without involving their background and origin.
"Duke-class fleet? Who would be so crazy as to dispatch this kind of combat force to a self-pretentious brat just to let him gain some experience? Were his parents too afraid of him getting hurt?"
"Who knows? They happened to encounter the Kraken Thistle and saved them from the space monsters and pirates. Right now, they should be on their way to the capitol, the Imperial Palace."
"Hmm, what did he want to do at the Imperial Palace? He aimed for a big thing right at his first baby step, huh. I should see this self-pretentious brat in person later."
Euphemia faintly smirked as she already put the Guardian of Dream as her new target. If her possession wasn’t in the captured pirates, then it was obviously in this newly created merchant. If the mentioned self-pretentious brat wouldn’t hand it over to her, then she would let him know that a Duke-class fleet was nothing before her might.
"According to the report, the leader of the Guardian of Dream is a lady, a great beauty." Bart frowned, but he quickly shut his mouth when the imperial princess stared dagger at him. He just realized that he was digging his own grave!
"Huh? It’s no wonder the Duke-class fleet was deployed for her then! Her parents are so worried because she is a great beauty, huh? Then, who is more beautiful between me and her? You’ve met her, right?" Euphemia pressed with a cold tone, poking Bart’s chest in annoyance.
It was unpleasant for someone to call another woman a great beauty right in front of her. It was as if her beauty was lost to the said lady.
"How would I know? She only sent her fierce confidante and her maids. Nobody has yet to personally meet her in person. Even Kraken Thistle’s leader only met her in her spacesuit, never actually revealing her face." Bart took a step back, knowing that his life would be at stake if the princess was dissatisfied.
"If nobody has ever seen her face, then what about the so-called great beauty? Are you just trying to piss me off?" Euphemia put her hand on her sword’s hilt.
"Please forgive me for my misspoken words. You are one of the greatest beauties in the Aegis Empire, Princess Euphemia. Nothing can match your beauty and elegance even in a thousand years of history." Bart bowed with an apology and praise. He chose to play it safe.
He would truly mean it if the imperial princess possessed a good personality. Unfortunately, her breathtaking beauty got ruined by a shitty personality. It was like a poisonous flower...
"Good. I’ll spare you just this once." Euphemia snorted and lowered her hand from her sword’s hilt.
A few moments later, they arrived at the fourth-level prison. More than a hundred criminals had just entered, and all of them were members of Swashbuckler, including the pirate leader.
Silver Tooth Preston, a big criminal and the leader of the Swashbuckler had been on the run with a bounty of 1.1 billion Argus Credit, dead or alive.
Since the criminal was captured alive, the bounty increased by 10%, and since the entire Swashbuckler’s important members got captured as well, the bounty reward almost reached 2 billion Argus Credit. And yet, the Guardian of Dream spent more than half of it to buy a permit from the Federal Department of Correction’s connection for a visit to the Imperial Palace. They spent it like that amount was nothing but money to buy a tour ticket.
"Damn! I’m getting annoyed just reading the report. Does she think the capitol is a tourist attraction she can visit at a whim? And you even used the Federal Department of Corrections to vouch for your visit?! Good smarty pants, I’ll teach this lass a lesson today. Take me to Silver Tooth Preston now!" Euphemia clicked her tongue, feeling annoyed after seeing the report regarding the Guardian of Dream.
"Please follow me, ma’am." The warden rubbed his hands with an amicable smile, guiding the imperial princess with great respect.
Once they arrived at the elite prison where Silver Tooth Preston was held, Euphemia entered with a big stride.
The warden and Bart looked at each other as the imperial princess immediately closed the anti-magic steel door before they could enter. What followed was a series of desperate howls and demonic screams that resembled a banshee in despair.
They had no idea what the imperial princess was doing inside, but the Silver Tooth Preston obviously experienced a hell of torture.
The screams lasted for half an hour, and it became silent all of a sudden.
*Clack*
Euphemia came out of the prison chamber while wiping her hands with a blood-red handkerchief.
"You... you didn’t kill him, did you, Your Highness?" The warden stammered with a pale face.
"What’s the difference if that vermin dies in my hands or the public execution ground? He is destined to die, to begin with." Euphemia threw the blood-stained handkerchief.
"It wouldn’t be funny if he died before the trial, even though his death sentence is certain. We need to use it to warn the others. You’ll ruin the order if he dies in your hands, princess." Bart sighed.
"He’s alive, probably. Just heal him and he will be fine. Phew, I feel a bit relieved after beating him to the brink of death. I should return to the capitol soon to teach that lass a lesson." Euphemia let out a sigh of relief and walked away leisurely.

"..." The warden scratched his head. He immediately called the healer squad to make sure Silver Tooth Preston stayed alive.
"Why do I feel a bad omen following her? Is she finally going to suffer for the first time in her life as an imperial princess?" Bart sighed.
"You were one of the important people by her side before, but why do you seem to dislike her now, Commander Bart?" The warden found it strange.
"She wasn’t as hateful, unreasonable, and rude as she is now. Her title as imperial princess ruined her. I don’t know her anymore, and she no longer sees me as an old comrade." Bart sighed, feeling a bit sad.
"Is that so? But, well... even the imperial family doesn’t really care about her. Everyone is busy fawning over the other imperial princes and princesses, especially the crown prince. I think she got taken as a pawn due to her good-looking appearance." The warden also sighed.
He recalled the time when Euphemia was still active in the Federal Department of Corrections before the Imperial Palace’s envoy came to announce that she was the imperial family’s descendant and took her away.
It might be her showing her true personality after gaining power, and Bart as one of her past comrades chose to leave for this remote domain so as not to have to deal with her anymore.
"You will be executed if anyone hears you, Warren. All imperial family members are good-looking. She was fortunate enough to be blessed with her bloodline, and the genetic enhancement raised it to a greater height. But, that’s it. Her talent is still mid. She won’t be able to get past tier-6’s bottleneck." Brat patted his old friend’s back and walked away.
"Keke, look back at you." Warren laughed. They literally badmouthed the Imperial Princess Euphemia behind her back despite knowing they would be executed once it got caught.

Elysia was oblivious to the situation beyond her prediction. Because she took a slightly different route from the divination, some unexpected variables obviously would come to follow. One of the imperial family’s descendants would soon return to the Imperial Palace to bully her.
Regardless, she already arrived at the supermassive space structure, a country-sized starship, the Imperial Palace, or also known as Aegis Starship, the center of the Aegis Empire. ES Nirvana docked at the city-sized terminal with a special permit and entered without any problems.
"Ely, I can smell trouble coming closer. The Aegis System might already be suspicious of us." Fortuna tugged the hem of Elysia’s sleeve.
"Please rest assured. I got you." Elysia patted Fortuna’s back as she replied with reassurance.
"But, should we go out too to safeguard the path?" Yuuki proposed an idea.
"We need to go in a small team to lessen the suspicion. Please stay around ES Nirvana. We will go directly to negotiate with the central command, and will be back in two hours." Elysia entrusted the escape route to everyone.
Things could go wrong at any time, and they already prepared a mass teleportation beforehand. If things went wrong, they would leave immediately. But for the one who would make contact with the Aegis System, a small team was the only way.
Xentia would obviously go with her for this. Elena, Ai, and Zera would naturally follow without having to be counted. As for the third and fourth person, Fortuna and Lyla were chosen to go with them.
"We’ll rely on your insight. We’re dealing with super advanced sentient artificial intelligence technology..." Fortuna tapped Lyla’s back and nodded to Xentia.
Xentia’s wisdom in high-tech technology was clear, and Lyla was the only one who was capable enough to rival Xentia’s high-tech wisdom.
Broadly speaking, Xentia and Lyla were the ones with the most experience in advanced high-tech technology among the other family members.
"This expectation feels so heavy, but I will do my best." Lyla clenched her fist, bracing herself because it would be her time to shine.
She might be mediocre in talent and cultivation compared to the other sisters, but she was blessed with a powerful brain. It was rare for her to be in the limelight because she spent most of her time in the background, but she wanted to stand out now, to be noticed by Elysia, her master.
"Fufu, don’t be so tense, Lyla. We won’t place a heavy burden on your cute shoulders. We’re here with you. I’ve noticed your hard work all this time, and we’ll get through this together just fine. The Aegis System might be more humane and considerate than we thought." Elysia reached out her hand, confident that the negotiation for this technology exchange would go smoothly.
"Master..." Lyla felt touched and flattered. She got a bit of tears in the corner of her eyes, not expecting her master would pay attention to her all this time.
She grabbed her master’s hand and left with the team of four to meet the Aegis central command.
