My Goddess is Good at Pretending-Chapter 677: Learn About Humility
The desert became an execution ground, scarred by the wrath of divine judgment.
The previous dunes, the heretic’s underground valley hideout, were destroyed by divine tribulation from the sky, leaving nothing but a large chasm of dust and scorched sand.
Amidst the ruins, the holy knights and crusaders, the Supreme Goddess’ devout worshippers, carried out their task with unwavering resolve. Donned in radiant armor etched with holy sigils, they methodically scoured the land, searching for any remnants of the hell demons who survived the purge.
Whenever they found the hell demon survivor, the grotesque creature hiding in crevices or clawing its way across the sands, the monsters were swiftly dealt with. Their holy blades gleamed, slicing through infernal flesh, leaving nothing behind.
Many experts, mages, warriors, hunters, sages, and cultivators watched from afar. They had long been gathered on the outskirts of the desert but didn’t dare to approach further. These individuals, many of whom had once been at odds with the Elysion Church, now, stood in awe and fear.
"This... this is what divine judgment looks like..." An old sage murmured with his trembling voice. "We are fools. Do you think we can stand against it?"
The purge sent a chilling message to all of them. Those who had previously mocked or offended the Elysion Church now questioned their actions. Fear and regret weighed heavily on their hearts. Since the Goddess had descended, the Elysion Church could take advantage of the situation to obliterate the opposing forces.
However, some wise people saw an opportunity amidst the devastation. With the Sacred Goddess no longer present, a handful of bold experts decided to approach the holy knights and crusaders. Dressed in their finest robes and carrying gifts, they ventured into the desolate battlefield, ready to provide their best assistance. Their intentions were clear: They should curry favor.

"So, this is the power of a divine-tier holy magic..." Mingyue observed the white flame on the ground.
Her affinity for the fire element was her greatest pride, but when compared to this holy fire, she couldn’t even be called a candle before the bonfire.
However, what attracted her was not the comparison, but the holy fire of purgatory’s essence. It could burn the evil energy and demons like nothing. It didn’t even take a minute and countless hell demons were reduced to ashes.
"Phew, our master simply wiped them out and left only some leftovers. This can’t be called a battle. And that divine lightning made the purge relatively effortless." Sylvia stabbed the crawling demon, dissolving it into dust particles.
Since the surviving hell demons mostly possessed no physical bodies, only demonic spiritual entities, they would turn into dust the moment they died.
"This is the purge with an overwhelming force on our side, and it’s only natural for it to be a one-sided extermination." Yuuki rolled her eyes as she shattered her ice field, exterminating the evil spirits.
"Those hunters should be here soon. Please block them and make things difficult for those hypocrites." Ella sent a voice transmission to the holy warriors of the Elysion Church.

It was still vivid in her mind. Those people made things difficult for the Elysion Church in the past five years and it became even worse as time went on. Although all things were pioneered by the heretics, they were still the involved ones who were not much different from the hypocrites. Their coming here with a certain intention became clear evidence of their disgusting natures.
Since it had come down to this, she as the Elysion Church’s high priestess, had to make sure to make those hypocrites understand that the Elysion Church was not only backed up by just two Deities, but an authentic Supreme Goddess!
"What do you plan to do with them?" Evelyn asked curiously.
"Our holy warriors shall welcome their help with open arms, but it won’t be easy to get away." Ella made a steeple of her fingers, responding with an innocent smile.
"Do you need help? I’m not sure the holy warriors of the Elysion Church are enough to intercept the approaching people." Kirara didn’t know what Ella was planning, but she felt like helping.
"Oh my, we won’t intercept them. They may do as they please. But some of our knights may have some old displeasure. I wonder if those lost sheep will repent or cause trouble." Ella shifted her claim to something more pleasing to the ear.
"Oh, for goodness sake. Would you like to humiliate and face-slap them? I know they tried to weaken and swallow the Elysion Church. So, since we’re all here, let’s let them know the Elysion Church isn’t something they can mess with." Sylvia grabbed Ella’s shoulder from behind, interested in what her human sisters were planning.
"Erm, then let’s see who will push their luck here. We need to remain aloof and humble." Ella pointed to the small fries who couldn’t proceed deeper into the desolate desert as the holy warriors and crusaders intercepted the uninvited guests.
However, several high-ranking figures bypassed the formation and flew directly into the heart of the desert, where the Elysium members and other high-rankings were.
"Hail, holy warriors of the Elysion Chruch." One elder greeted, bowing deeply. "We come not as adversaries, but as admirers of your noble cause. We wish to express our respect and offer our humble support to your holy mission."
The nearby holy knights responded with silence, and some of them offered little more than curt nods in response. Holy Knight Deity Myra served as an acting leader, accompanied by Saint Daemyx and Saintess Bhaenera by her sides, and spoke with measured authority.
"It’s been a while, Great Sage Olin. What brings you all the way here?" Myra confronted the old man before her.
"Haha, we are old friends, why so cold? Wouldn’t it be impolite on my part if I didn’t attend your big event? We’re here to help, so can you please order your holy warriors to let those volunteers enter the site? They’re here to help you with the cleanup?" Olin stroked his long beard, pointing at the people blocked by the holy warriors.
"We were never friends. If you seek peace, ensure your actions align with the will of the Supreme Goddess. Flattery alone will not cleanse your past offenses." Myra stated her stern reminder.
The message within her words was clear as only genuine repentance and alignment with the Elysion Church’s teachings would be tolerated. Those who approached with empty gestures or hidden agendas would find no mercy or forgiveness.

Meanwhile, the captured heretics, bound and stripped of their rights, were marched in chains through the desert. Their faces were gaunt, and their eyes hollow with despair.
There were still many heretics scattered throughout the world, but the Silver Heretic’s higher-ups were all here. Some were executed on the spot because they were too dangerous to be left alive, and the rest got spared with slave seal marks on their necks imposed by the world law, shackling them of all.
"These sinners will face divine punishment." Ella declared with a resolute voice. "Their vile schemes, treacheries, and defilements of the world cannot go unanswered."
A few moments later, she received the reports that some hunters and adventurers requested a negotiation about the slaves, including the Guild Association and Slave Market.
However, she had other ideas because those people were nothing more than hypocrites who could never be trusted. Broadly speaking, those people were not clean and indirectly had involvement with the Silver Heretic.
"Hmm..." Ella pondered about it.
The other sinners would receive their punishment for sure, but the follow-up clean-ups would wait for the future as they shouldn’t punish people everywhere. Therefore, she sent a mandate to oppose the interference of a third party because the Elysion Church would be the one who would decide the fates and punishments of the captured heretics.
The heretics would be subjected to the harshest of fates, public trials, penance through suffering, and, for the worst among them, public execution by holy fire. Their punishment served as both justice and a warning to those who might dare to follow in their footsteps.
The holy warriors beat the arrogant and troublemakers as if they never cared about the world and any consequences. Despite using frontal violence to control the ignorant masses, no one dared to fight back.
The arrogant and troublemakers could only swallow the humiliation because the Elysion Church did not give any face. However, considering their past actions, and the Elysion Goddess’ descent, they could only humble themselves. No one could rival with the faction directly protected by the divine. Their current primary aim was to rebuild good relations, even though they used to eye the Elysion Church like a big piece of delicious cake.
As the desert fell silent once more, the Elysion Church solidified its position as an unassailable force in the world. The Sacred Goddess’ descent and her divine judgment had not only purged the heretics and demons but also reshaped the balance of power. Nobody wouldn’t even dare to offend and mess with the Elysion Chruch because of this.
Those who once opposed the church now scrambled to align themselves with it. They swallowed their pride with fear and respect. Yet, the holy warriors remained vigilant. They knew while the immediate threat had been dealt with, the world would always harbor darkness, and their duty was far from over.
