My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World-Chapter 71: New weapon’s choice
In the morning, Claire woke up with a slight headache.
But just as she was raising her left hand to massage it, someone else did it for her.
Her lips curled in contentment and she slumped lazily as Aaron’s firm hand massaged her forehead.
"Good morning." he said in a gentle voice, and Claire mewled softly in response, resembling a cute little kitten that just woke up from her nap.
After a sweet greeting, Aaron walked into the kitchen and prepared some coffee for the two of them as they decided to order the breakfast online.
By the time the breakfast came, both Aaron and Claire had finished their morning routine as along with the food, last night’s unfinished topic was opened.
Claire picked up a piece of toast, chomping on it while washing it down with some juice.
"For starters, you need a new weapon that you can call your own." She wiped her lips with her tongue, "Your short sword isn’t good enough."
Aaron nodded, understanding it perfectly.
The range for the falcata was too short for his comfort, and it wasn’t swift either. It served well for the beginning, but not anymore.
"What do you suggest then?" he asked.
"Hmm, probably something swift that can go along with your stats, can you tell me those?"
"Sure." Aaron nodded, intoning the status screen.
But before narrating them to her, he swiftly deposited his remaining 7 excess points into magic.
[ User: Aaron Cross ]

[ Title: Otherworldly Soul (Legendary) ]
[ Class: Boy Toy (Common) ]
[ Race: Human (Male) ]
[ ~Stats~ ]
[ Strength: 60 (+34) ]
[ Agility: 58 (+34) ]
[ Stamina: 66 (6) (+34) ]
[ Intelligence: 52 (+34) ]
[ Magic: 170 ]
[ Additional Points: 0 ]
[ Skills: 2 / 5 ]
[ Inventory: 1/1 (Golden Coohen’s Head) ]
Aaron swept a casual glance over the screen, before pausing at the end.
He was quite high and distracted when it happened, but he did remember seeing a notification that he had unlocked some new self skill, and now seeing it on the status screen, he was reminded of it.
"Strength 60, Agility 58, Stamina 66, Intelligence 52 and Magic 170."
While narrating the stats, he also opened the skill screen.
[ Skills ( 2 / 5 ) ]
[ Skill – Reverse Senses (Active) ]
// Decreases the user’s sensitivity while increasing the target’s sensitivity for 30 seconds. Mana cost: 5 mana. Cooldown: 10 m. //
[ Self-Skill – AMCC ( Passive ) ]
// Automatic Mana Controlled Circulation. Circulates a controlled amount of mana through the host’s body, supporting the physical and mental stats proportionally to the magic. Conversion rate: 20%. Proficiency: Beginner. //
[ Self-Skill – Mana Active Channeling ( Active ) ]
// The user can manually activate and channel mana internally, infusing the energy in their own body to enhance them. Also produces a faint tangible barrier of energy that provides a negligible defence against physical attacks but high defence against mental attacks.
Mana cost: Undetermined.
Cooldown: None. //
// Note: Continuous use can cause cell damage, which can also be irreparable. Repeated use permanently improves the cell quality. //
’Continuous is harmful but repeated is good...?’ Aaron glanced at the screen in confusion, before connecting the dots together.
Continuous usage entailed that it would be harmful for him if he activated the skill for a long duration without giving them any time to rest or heal.
But the repeated usage simply meant that the more times he used the skill, his cells would enhance passively.
And although untested yet, Aaron knew that this skill would probably use a lot of mana as it wasn’t simple to make the energy a tangible force.
"Wait wait wait–" Claire coughed on her food, "All your stats are already above 50?! ALSO 170 MAGIC? Wasn’t it 100?!"
"I added 7 extra stats into it." Aaron smiled sweetly, fully knowing that he was going to come off as a smug bastard by doing so.
"..." Claire speechlessly grabbed her juice glass and took a huge swig out of it, "Makes sense." she said sagely.
She stayed silent for a long while before nodding.
And acting as if nothing was off, she continued, "Your stamina is the highest stat after magic, and your strength and agility both are quite similar. For you I can only suggest something light, flexible and all rounded. Something like a sword should suit you quite well."
She took a pause to eat, "But your magic is very high. A weapon similar to a staff would suit it quite nicely. So maybe a swordstaff?"
Aaron hummed, "A swordstaff?" He imagined one, a long, deadly weapon that could serve as both melee and also ranged for magic.
(A/N: A reference image of swordstaff in the paragraph comments. )
He quickly nodded, "That sounds good. I need to try one though."
Hearing his excited voice, Claire’s smile faltered.
Her smile lowered into a frown, head dipping as she stared at her own injured, battered legs.
"Ah, try. Yeah." she mumbled, nibbling on the toast to hide her frown, "I can ask Jaq for it. She knows a weaponsmith. She is quite good at her job. We can commission one for you."
"Oh, that’s quite good." Aaron nodded with a wide smile, winking at Claire’s frowned, saddened face, "When are we going?"
"We?" Claire asked in surprise, "I am injured, you can go, it’s fine. You already know how to drive as well, so it will be easy."
"I carried you when my stats were low, do you think I can’t carry you again?"
Claire visibly blushed at Aaron’s claim, coughing, "It’s embarrassing. I would rather not go." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"We can get you some crutches, though I doubt they are as comfortable as my arms." Aaron proclaimed with a grin.
"Cheeky much?" Claire giggled, her rosy cheeks getting redder, "But okay. I will go with you so that you don’t get scammed."
Aaron scoffed, "Yeah yeah, sure."
Just like that, the chatter died out and Claire swiftly called Jaq, explaining her the request for a swordstaff and if her weaponsmith can procure one.
Jaq told her that she will text her once she asks the weaponsmith, so the breakfast was resumed once again as the couple ate while teasing each other and chatting playfully.
And as if the god was watching over the timing himself, as soon as the breakfast finished and dishes were dumped into the sink, Claire’s phone rang.
"Jaq said she will meet us at the shop. Let’s go."
