My Mage System (BL)-Chapter 747: *The group leader*

For everyone to get through to the next floor, as their energy reserves were insufficient, Yelena deployed her energy onto them granting all of them a 5x boost to all their stats. This was enough to carry them to the last floor of this extraordinary tower, the floor everyone wished to reach the 10th floor.

Once inside the 8th floor, which resembled a huge arena, the system sent them all a notification:

[Congratulations on reaching the 8th floor of this tower. For the next challenge you need to choose to fight as a group or as individuals. If you choose to pass this challenge as a group you need to select a leader. Also be aware that your opponent or opponents will be chosen based on the number in your group and their strength will be proportional to the strongest among you.]

Since they never considered taking this challenge alone they all chose to do it as a group. Even though Julian didn’t want to be the group leader, they all insisted that he take on that role.

Yelena didn’t want to be the leader either as she still didn’t feel confident in her own strength or her ability to lead in battle. On the other hand Julian despite his limited experience in large battles was accustomed to leading them during their dungeon raids. Ultimately to please the group he accepted the responsibility of being the group leader.

Once this formality was settled their opponents appeared and they all felt an unprecedented sense of threat. Directly in front of them about 200 meters away stood three holographic men at God Level 2.

Julian frowned and muttered feeling frustrated, "How is this a fair fight The strongest among us is only level 175. How are we supposed to fight three opponents at God Level 2."

Chris then smiled and replied, "They probably detected the anomalous energy within Yelena. We’re actually quite lucky to face just three opponents at God Level 2 it could have been worse."

Suddenly a huge red countdown appeared between them and their opponents. They only had one minute to prepare before the fight began. They also received another notification from the tower’s system: 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

[To advance to the ninth floor you need to defeat your opponents within one hour and have an energy reserve of 50,000 points. The trial starts in one minute.]

As per their training and under Julian’s supervision they split into six groups. Four groups consisted of one mage and two fighters. In the last two groups Julian teamed up with Yelena while Chris partnered with a very talented fighter.

The fighters and mages in the first four groups specialized in ranged attacks. One of the fighters acted as support for the main attackers who were Yelena and Alexander while the other fighters of their groups focused solely on ranged attacks using their dual energies to maximize damage to their enemies.

Yelena and Alexander were strong enough to engage their enemies on their own. They would be supported by Julian and Chris who could create arrows or energy balls from anywhere within a 500-meter radius along with the fighter from the other groups who acted as support and ensured they weren’t caught off guard by a sneak attack. Yelena and Alexander would then infuse some of their chakra into the energy balls or arrows that appeared close to them and launch them at their targets.

As for Julian and Chris they took on the responsibility of ensuring that their team would be safe protecting everyone with their spells. They often used colored talismans in combat. With these talismans they could wield any elements they desired and their energy reserves drained more slowly than if they were relying solely on their own soul force to create spells.

Before the trial began Julian assigned everyone their tasks and asked Yelena to maintain a x3 boost for everyone at all times during the battle.

Since there were three holographic God Level 2 opponents he changed his usual strategy and instructed the four fighters of the first groups to confront one of the God Level 2 foes together. As for Yelena and Alexander they would each take on one opponent while the rest of them would strike as soon as an opportunity arose.

This was the first time they would clash with such powerful opponents and although it was a little scary they were all very excited. They had fought against Iris and Helena, but they all knew that those two hadn’t even used 1/10 of their strength in those battles leaving them feeling far from threatened.

But right now they could finally sense the real threat of death something they had only experienced against the bosses of certain dungeons.

Once the countdown reached zero the three holographic God Level 2 foes dashed toward them. Under Julian’s command they immediately launched ranged attacks while Yelena, Alexander, and the four other fighters charged directly at their designated opponent.

As the first wave of ranged attacks was about to hit the holographic God Level 2 warriors the enemies did not take these attacks seriously and simply swung their swords to counterattack.

However as soon as their weapons made contact with the arrows created by their dual energies the warriors were sent flying back several hundred meters their life bar diminished by one-third.

They all felt a surge of excitement upon seeing their attacks successfully hit their targets even though they knew it was only because the holographic God Level 2 warriors weren’t on guard against them.

Now they would have to put in much more effort if they wanted to hit them again.

Julian then cheered them on surprised at the damage their combined attacks had inflicted and before the warriors could get back on their feet Yelena, Alexander, and the four other fighters were already closing in on them.

Chris then gave Julian a wink playfully flirting and created several water balls close to Alexander.

Alexander accustomed to working with Chris quickly took one in each hand and used them to parry the sword strike of his opponent.
