My Mage System (BL)-Chapter 748: Should they stop there or continue to the last floor ?
When the two water balls, filled with his chakra energy, made contact with the sword, it broke, and the force of the impact sent the warrior he was fighting against flying once again.
Meanwhile, a small tornado appeared beside Yelena. She smiled upon seeing it and infused her chakra into it; then she halted as she knew it was Julian who was controlling the tornado.
The sight was magnificent. The yellow tornado transformed into a larger one, and the silver light from Yelena’s chakra, mixed with the yellow particles of wind, was so bright that it temporarily blinded them all.
The God-level 2 warrior immediately protected himself with a powerful force field, but when he tried to escape from the tornado, Yelena and Alexander cut off his retreat. As he clashed with them, he ultimately found himself caught inside the tornado.
If it had been a normal tornado, he could have deflected it easily, but he was utterly powerless against this kind of attack. The warrior’s life bar fell rapidly until it reached zero.
Just like that, their first opponent was defeated.
They were all exhilarated, and Alexander, who had resumed his fight with his opponent, defeated him after only a few more moves, thanks to Chris’s water balls always appearing right where he needed them.
Both Yelena and Alexander then stepped aside and watched their friends deal with their last foe.
Their control over their energy reserves was not as smooth as Yelena and Alexander’s, so it took them more time to defeat a God-level 2 warrior. However, after 10 minutes of intense fighting, they finally killed him without any casualties on their side.
After the disappearance of the last foe, they all received a message from the system’s tower.
[Congratulations on passing the trial of the eighth floor. All your basic stats increase permanently by 30 points, and your energy reserve increases by 3,000 points.]
Julian also congratulated them, admitting that he would have never thought they could hold their ground against creatures of God level; they had all grown much stronger over the past few days.
Chris then said, passion burning in his eyes, "It was a little bit too easy. Let’s hope that the ninth floor will be more challenging. Today, we will finally discover where our limit lies!"
Julian just shook his head helplessly after hearing that, and after everyone drank a legendary healing potion, he gave some pointers to the four support fighters on their team.
They all listened to his advice, even those who weren’t particularly concerned about it. They had all understood since day one that Julian was an amazing master and that under his guidance, their strength would skyrocket. The most surprising thing was that Julian wasn’t even aware that he was exceptional.
After a 30-minute break during which everyone exchanged ideas about their last battle to find ways to improve themselves, they finally went through the door leading to the ninth floor.
There, they received the same system notification as on the eighth floor, and they still chose to fight as a group, with Julian as their group leader.
As they all received the same rewards, they didn’t know why they had to choose a leader, but without choosing one, they couldn’t proceed, so they didn’t think too much about it and followed the tower’s rules.
This time, they had to fight against three holographic God-level 3 warriors and five holographic God-level 2 warriors.
They had three minutes to prepare, and during this time, Julian gave his orders. Yelena would keep the 3x boost active on everyone as she had during the last fight, but this time, along with Chris, he would keep the three holographic God-level 3 warriors occupied while Yelena, Alexander, and the four other fighters took care of the five God-level 2 foes.
The ranged attack team would support everyone as soon as an opportunity presented itself.
Just before the end of the countdown, Julian and Chris sent numerous colored talismans straight to the more powerful holographic warriors, and as soon as the battle started, they released the particles inside those talismans.
Chris chose to imprison one of the holographic God-level 3 warriors inside a huge water ball that he lifted into the air, and then he made the lightning particles cause havoc inside the prison to paralyze this foe for a time.
Meanwhile, Julian used only the lightning particles to create a huge cage that imprisoned the other two holographic God-level 3 warriors.
The power of those spells depended a lot on the caster. The stronger the caster, the more powerful the spell would be. Undoubtedly, both Julian and Chris were powerful mages. Moreover, they were both under Yelena’s buff, which boosted their overall strength by 3.
The God-level 3 warriors couldn’t escape their predicament, allowing the other members of their group to deal with the God-level 2 warriors without interference—this helped them significantly.
Once they had taken care of the weaker ones, Chris released the one he had imprisoned because he was simply not strong enough to kill him by himself.
As Julian focused on maintaining the lightning cage, Chris was the one helping the others by creating water balls for them to use against this God-level 3 foe.
It took them one hour to kill one God-level 3 warrior. During this time, they had all been hit by him a few times, and each time they had to withdraw to drink legendary-grade healing potions, as most of their HP was depleted.
Only Julian hadn’t been hit because Chris was protecting him with all his might.
With only one hour left to kill their remaining two opponents, Julian hesitated. Should they stop there or continue to the last floor? This floor was already much harder than the eighth floor, and they had all had to drink healing potions; otherwise, they wouldn’t have made it. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
While he was lost in thought, Chris said to him, as the rest of them were resting before the last hurdles of their trial, "Why hesitate? We are still far from reaching our limit."
