Chapter 508: Chapter 405: Alice’s Snowfield Adventure (6K)

In the Northern Lands’ Snow Realm, once battle begins, there are only two outcomes: you die, or I perish.

"That’s just perfect," said Shen Sui, "It’s better for her to experience some brutal fights."

If Alice had always been active on the Dawn Continent, Shen Sui wouldn’t care much about Alice’s combat skills, because he’s familiar with the Dawn Continent and knows if there’s any real danger.

But now, with the opening of the Dream World, Alice officially set foot in World No. 8.

Unlike the Spiritual World, World No. 8 is truly a dangerous realm. Shen Sui can protect Alice’s life, but he’s unsure if his abilities can handle the unknown forces present there. Hence, Alice’s combat prowess must be raised.

This is a process Alice must undergo.

Qishala naturally understood the reasoning behind this.

But understanding is one thing; feeling distressed is indeed another. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

In this aspect, Isabella rarely came to terms with Qishala; otherwise, she wouldn’t have come to ask Shen Sui about Alice’s situation.

Isabella pleaded, and Qishala watched.

Shen Sui suddenly felt like a strict father wanting to firmly educate his child but being stopped by the two doting mothers.

There was no other way, Shen Sui activated the Dueling Device.

By now, Alice had already been in the Snowfield for several days.

The Northern Lands’ Snow Realm, covered with snow year-round, is constantly shrouded by blizzards.

The Northern Lands’ Snow Realm is divided into Snowfield, Ice Lake, and White Mountain Ridge.

Among them, White Mountain Ridge is the region where the Giant Race resides, mainly composed of towering, continuous snow-capped mountains, extremely treacherous.

The Ice Lake, as its name implies, is a frozen body of water, also known as the Ice and Snow Goddess Lake.

Legend says it’s the transformed remains of the Ice and Snow Goddess post-mortem, existing even before the Twilight of the Gods.

However, the truth is, there aren’t any gods in the Northern Lands’ Snow Realm.

And if the Ice Lake were the transformed body of the Ice and Snow Goddess, then which part of the Ice and Snow Goddess is the Thousand-Year Mine beside it? It’s quite subtle, causing reluctance to delve deeper into thought.

Yes, Alice’s destination, the Thousand-Year Mine, is right beside the Ice Lake.

Both having a lake and mine, it shows how much Shen Sui loved this place back then.

When wanting to fish, breaking the ice surface allows for ice fishing.

When needing to mine, the Thousand-Year Mine is right beside, ready to enter.

Since the Northern Lands’ Snow Realm is a map only unlocked in the late-game stages, the fish and ore found here are of very high quality, so Shen Sui left numerous storage boxes here.

One by the Ice Lake, used to store consumables like baits and treasures fished up from the lake.

Inside the Thousand-Year Mine are countless treasure boxes, Shen Sui doesn’t even know how many storage boxes he crafted in there; only two are clearly remembered:

One at the mine entrance for storing excess items from backpacks, clearing space to store more ores and materials.

One at the one-hundredth level of the mine, where, in the game, a Dwarf Miner sells some tools and supplies. Next to the Dwarf Miner is a bucket, and the storage box is placed beside the bucket, used to store treasures fished up from it—yes, even then the bucket was suitable for fishing.

Water is present, rods can be cast, and you claim it can’t be fished?

The rest of the treasure boxes are spread across different layers of the mine.

The Thousand-Year Mine has a total of three hundred levels; with each level descended, the quality of the ore produced and materials found advances a tier. Shen Sui, being notorious as a hoarder, would never miss any drop, and thus during mining ventures, barely a few layers are passed before his backpack is completely full, prompting him to craft storage boxes on-site to clear out relatively lower-grade materials from the backpack, then continue mining.

Over time, aside from the initial few layers, almost every layer has Shen Sui’s crafted storage box for keeping surplus materials.

After emerging from the Dream World, Alice once asked Shen Sui about the treasure boxes.

Unfortunately, the making of treasure boxes is part of the game’s mechanism, something Shen Sui didn’t inherit, but luckily the number of treasure boxes he left on the Dawn Continent was adequate, with the primary clusters located in various mines throughout the continent, with the Thousand-Year Mine being the ultimate mining site.

This further solidified Alice’s resolve to head to the Thousand-Year Mine.

Aside from White Mountain Ridge and Ice Lake, the vast area occupied by the Snowfield makes it the most expansive region of the Northern Lands’ Snow Realm.

The Snowfield is a large flat plain, eternally buried under snow and ice, hence the name.

Due to its plain nature, without natural barriers for obstruction, the storms coming from White Mountain Ridge can rampage through the Snowfield unchecked, stripping away layer upon layer of vitality.

Thus, it became the most renowned place of exile on the Dawn Continent.

When your enemy holds a high status, making direct execution unfeasible, they are often directly banished to the Snowfield.

Many strong individuals, defeated and coerced by their enemies, are also forced into the Snowfield.

Yet life is tough and persistent; even in such an environment, tribes formed by exiles and losers survive on the Snowfield, clinging to life through hunting Magical Beasts found there.

Till this day, these tribes on the Snowfield stubbornly persist, but owing to various historical reasons, no nation or power dares to accept them.
