My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains-Chapter 71: Who Says We Can’t Share?
Ethan stood on a balcony, still within the Arcorys manor, staring out over the courtyard below.
At a random point, Percival suddenly stepped in behind him. "You’re still here?"
"Your father banned me from leaving, remember?" Ethan said, turning over to him.
Percival scoffed. "You know you can always leave."
Ethan nodded, then turned back to face the courtyard. Percival walked over and stood beside him.
There was silence for a moment before Ethan finally broke it. "I take it you’re not pissed anymore?"
Percival scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Nah, I got tired already." He laughed.
Ethan laughed dryly and shook his head.
Percival continued, in a tone a slightly different tone. "You should’ve told me a lot earlier about you and Isabella. Would’ve stung, but I’d be happy for you, man."
Ethan sighed. "That was my bad, man. And I would apologize again, but I already did that once. I’m not doing that again."
"Ugh, yeah, please don’t. That would be too weird," Percival said, making a disgusted face.
They both laughed, then fist-bumped.
"So we cool now?" Ethan asked.
Percival held up a hand. "Hold on. Not yet. One more thing."
Ethan looked at him, waiting. "What is it?"
Percival grinned. "You’re covering my allowances until my father stops punishing me. Then we’re cool."
Ethan scoffed. "I’ll speak to Eduardo."
"Now that’s what I’m talking about," Percival said with a satisfied nod.
Right then, system notification screens materialized before Ethan.

Ethan smiled, then dismissed the screens with a thought.

Down the corridor, Hayley walked past, now carrying Phoebe in her arms. She glanced toward the balcony and saw the two boys chatting and grinning together.
She turned toward Phoebe and whispered, "See, Phebs? Boys will be boys."
Little phebs nods as Hayley walked past, shaking her head amusingly.
-
Back on the balcony, Ethan turned to Percival with a curious expression. "But man, when did you get that strong?"
Percival chuckled. "You know what’s funny? Seeing you and Isabella sitting together in the cafeteria today got me so mad that my fourth meridian opened on the spot."
Then he laughed.
Ethan’s eyes widened in surprise. He hadn’t known Percival had seen them. Then he laughed too. "So I guess this meridian thing is what made you stronger?"
Percival nodded. "Yeah. I broke through an upper limit or something. I don’t really know how to explain it, but everything just felt... different."
Ethan nodded in understanding.
Percival turned toward Ethan with a more serious expression. "And what about you? You’ve been hiding a lot. What was that transformation? I’ve known you all my life, and I’ve never seen that."
Ethan sighed, then gave him a brief explanation without going into too much detail.
They chatted a bit more before Ethan eventually decided it was time to head out.
-
Not long after, Ethan was walking through the courtyard toward the gates, and Percival watched from the balcony.
Hayley walked in behind him. She had just put Phoebe to bed.
Percival frowned and said, "Hayley, you’re the worst."
Hayley grinned and said, "I already said I’m sorry. What more do you want?"
Her eyes moved toward Ethan in the courtyard below, and she added thoughtfully, "Is it me, or did that boy grow up hot?"
Percival turned to her with a weird look on his face.
Hayley shrugged. "Come on, like you didn’t know I had a crush on him when we were kids."
Percival shook his head. "Ethan belongs to the princess now."
At that point, Ethan had walked all the way to the middle of the courtyard. There was a brief glow of magic beneath his feet, and suddenly his body floated upward.
He flew into the sky with a sonic boom, then shot out of the Arcorys compound.
Hayley had a sly grin as she watched with her head raised. Then she said, "Oh, please. This is Gritnia. Who says we can’t share?"
Percival turned to her with an even weirder look.
——
The next morning began with Eduardo and Ethan standing in the open expanse of land at the back of the manor.
Both were dressed in plain shirts and trousers, each holding a wooden sword.
Today had been granted to the students of Belsorth as a free day because management needed the time and all hands on deck, to prepare ahead for the camping exercise involving the final years and their counterparts from Mallory High.
Ethan then decided to use this morning as his beginner lesson for the Saber class. At least get it going before he and Eduardo had to leave for the office.
Eduardo began. "Before I start, I’d like to speak on the most fundamental thing about the Saber class."
He paused, then said, "It’s called battle aura."
Ethan listened intently.
Eduardo continued, "Once one awakens as a Saber, they also awaken the innate ability to convert their mana into battle aura."
He gestured with one hand. "This battle aura enhances a Saber’s speed, reflexes, and perception. Coupled with the right skills, this makes Sabers the fastest-moving class of all seven classes."
He raised one finger. "But Sabers lack in one thing. Raw power output. This is what puts them behind the Warrior and Guardian classes."
"Hm," Ethan muttered as he continued to listen.
Eduardo nodded. "However, Sabers make up for it by channeling their battle aura into weapons. Specifically, ones with cutting edges."
He added, "This is further amplified when you learn to take even more advantage of the momentum your speed is able to create as a Saber."
He looked directly at Ethan. "Kindly observe, Master Ethan."
Then he turned his gaze to the side, where a long, massive tree trunk stood. It was one of many lining the corner of the property.
Without warning, Eduardo disappeared in a burst of speed that raised a violent gust of wind. Without breaking stride, he swung the wooden sword in one clean motion, slicing straight through the thick trunk.
And the tree fell over with a heavy crash.
Ethan’s gaze widened just a bit as Eduardo returned to his original position.
"I’m surprised you were able to cut that tree with a wooden sword," Ethan said. "I’d probably only be able to do that using Ragnarok."
Eduardo smiled. "This part owes mostly to talent level."
He continued, "Talent level determines how much of our mana is converted into battle aura."
There was a pause before he added, "The more Battle Aura a Saber can generate, the greater their speed and momentum. It also determines how much cutting power they can channel through a sharp-edged weapon."
He glanced back toward the fallen tree. "I am certain one with only E-level talent would never be able to muster enough battle aura to do what I just did with a wooden sword."
He turned back to Ethan. "Additionally, the type and level of skills a Saber can learn are, in some cases, limited by how much Battle Aura they can muster..
...For example, some skills require a higher level of innate speed to execute properly. If a Saber cannot generate enough Battle Aura to reach that speed, they simply cannot perform the skill."
Ethan nodded in understanding.
