My Vampire Prince..-Chapter 128: Fie, fye, fo, fum
Severin lifted a brow at Elder Zephyr. In no time, Zephyr was already in front of him and fired a ball of fire at him. Severin easily dodged the unexpected fire ball heading his way. The ball collided with the wooden door as it burned out completely.
"That is one hell of a door." Elyria commented, eyeing the door that didn’t show even a dent in it’s frame.
"I’ll say." Lio chipped in.
"I see you’ve improved Jesse." Zephyr commented with a smile. Though the signs of ageing was prominent on his body, he had the agility of a young steed.
"Get me out of here." Severin demanded again. His expressionless face seemed to darken the more even though there wasn’t even a twitch made.
"Geez calm down dude. No one wants you here either." Lio said in a low, annoyed voice. Severin turned to him.
Damn his blank face annoyed Lio even more.
"Deception."
Lio sarcastically chuckled, raising a brow. "What?"
"Oook. Let’s go before you two tear each other necks." Elyria walked towards the door with her back facing them.
"...or before one of you gets his neck torn out."
"What was that?!" Lio yelled.
"Nothing!" Elyria smiled.
Severin quietly turned around and followed Elyria out of the house, ignoring the death glares Lio shot at him. He never cared. He didn’t have to.
Once they were out the door, Lioren turned to Elder Zephyr.
"What was that all about?" he demanded. His folded arms unraveled themselves from his chest as he walked to where the elder stood.
Zephyr on the other hand still had a smile lit up on his face. There was something about that young boy that always piques his interest.
"Jesse..." Zephyr drawled thoughtfully, a distant look appearing on his face. He could still remember a shrivelled, young version of the stone cold man that had stood before him just seconds ago.
"His tiny hands had wanted to strangle the life out of me." Zephyr said with a laugh.
"What?" Lio responded. His fists tightened beside him.
"I knew that Jose was bad news." he said through gritted teeth. The moment he had walked through those doors, Lio had found it difficult to guess the kind of person he was. The man had carried himself with such a mysterious, thick air that it was almost like an invisible, thick fog was following him.
Zephyr turned to Lio. He lifted his hand then placed it on Lio’s shoulders then squinted at the muscular man.
"If you had been him, you’d be worse."
Lio frowned.
"What do you mean, elder?"
But Zephyr only patted his broad shoulder twice before turning around and walking towards the room where Medderath was.
Lio stood there in silence even after Zephyr had already left. His muscles twitched and throbbed under his long sleeved casual.
A sudden curiosity charged his being and he wanted to find out more about the boy named Jesse. He placed a finger under his chin, thinking hard. Lio stood there for a few minutes more deep in thoughts when Elyria burst through the door.
"I can’t fuvking stand that damned man!" she yelled exasperatedly.
Her shout knocked Lio out of his mountain of thoughts. He turned to Elyria.
"El."
"Ughh what now?" she replied in annoyance.
"What do you know about that man?"
"Who? Severin?"
"Is that what he’s called?"
"That’s what Damien called him one time."
Lio fell quiet once more. That name sounded so familiar.
"Anyway. What do you know about him?"
Elyria scoffed.
"Only that he’s a big jerk and an abuser that’s all."
Lio’s frown returned immediately. "I’m serious, El."
"And so am I! That man tried to do things to me! He spanked my ass, tried to choke me and whatnot!"
Elyria’s confession reignited the already burning fire in him.
"Bastard..." he cursed under his breath. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
A minute of silence passed between them, each one engulfed in different thoughts.
"Why do you want to know about him all of a sudden? I thought you hated him."
"I just find him...strange that’s all. Plus, it seems Elder Zephyr has some sort of history with him that he’s not willing to share. Maybe it’s linked to what’s going on with Elena?"
Elyria remained quiet as she digested Lio’s words. It did make sense to some level considering the fact that Jesse wanted to leave immediately. Even though it could just be his normal dislike towards company, the possibility couldn’t be ruled out.
"I don’t know much about him but when elder sent me to bring him here, I found him in some abandones house."
Lio sat up and turned to her interested.
"What country was it?"
"I didn’t bother to find out. The compass was the one leading me."
"Shit Elyria." Lio groaned falling back into the sofa. A disappointed look crossed his face but he refused to accept defeat. That man was no ordinary being. To him, Severin was nothing short of a threat, a mysterious, unknown threat. His impeccably calm, cool and collected nature made it hard to believe someone like that went through a rough patch in life.
Aren’t those people the ones who end us as maniacal dummies subject to their pain?
It didn’t make sense...he didn’t make sense.
"Where’s the compass then?" Lio asked again.
"Here." Elyria handed him the rusty, wornout device.
Lio stood up and strode towards the entrance of the room.
"Are you going to meet him?"
"What else am I gonna do? Sit back and do nothing?"
"What if elder finds out? That Jesse guy isn’t a normal vampire. I suffocate at his mere presence."
Elyria’s words only pushed Lio’s decision to uncover more about this ’Jesse.’
"What if he does something to you huh? Can you handle him? You saw how quickly he could dodge the elder’s attack."
Lio smirked, feeling challenged. "Guess we’ll just have to find out." With that, he shut the door behind him.
Elyria stood up with a start twitching back and forth. Seeing that man again was the last thing she ever wanted to do in her lifetime.
"Ugh! Damn you Lio!" she yelled before rushing to the door, slamming it shut behind her.

"My Queen...is that you?"
Isolde rushes towards the door immediately grabbing Elena’s hand. As her hands grabbed hers, Isolde’s eyes widened at Elena before swiftly landing on Damien. Damien gave her a tired look as he walked past her.
The lean, bony hand covered with flesh made the queen mother’s heart break. She looked up at Elena like a mother would to her daughter who has just begun her journey in motherhood. Slowly, she patted Elena’s hand softly before pulling her closer for a hug.
Elena’s lean body gave way to the woman’s embrace and she hugged her back. But their reunion was quickly interrupted as soon as it began.
"Mommy? Mommy!!!"
A tiny voice squealed excitedly in front of her and in the next second, Edna had jumped on her mother.
The little girl nuzzled her face deep into the crook of her mother’s neck and her arms rested around her shoulders.
Isolde, who had sensed the incoming intrusion, had pulled away just a second before Edna hurled herself in the air. The girl had the calmness of a summer breeze but the instinct of a jaguar.
Elena felt a wave of emotions wash over her.
This girl...this small, fragile girl in her arms...
"My gurl..." Elena muttered, squeezing her eyes shut as her hands cradled the girl.
"Mommy I missed you!" Edna cried out.
"Mummy missed you too darling. So,so much."
Edna pulled away, placed both hands on either sides of Elena’s cheeks and planted a quick peck on her lips.
"You look so tired mommy. Where did you go?" the little girl asked with a streak of worry in her big, brown eyes.
Elena struggled to compose herself. She had always wondered who Edna took after between herself and Damien. Long answer short, it was definitely her.
Seeing that her mother didn’t answer, Edna shrugged her small shoulders and pulled her in for another hug.
Damien, who had been watching the mother-daughter reunion, walked over to them with Eden in his arms. The little boy was fast asleep when he picked him up.
"Don’t forget about our little prince, dear." Damien said, trying to sound as normal as possible. He had already made up his mind to never let Elena know that Eden had tried to suck his own sister dry. That’d break her heart in so many ways.
Damien took Edna from Elena’s arms and Elena picked Eden from his. Sbe stared at the little boy who had almost been the death of her twice. Her hands mindlessly reached out to caress his cheeks. He looked so much like his father.
She placed a finger under his neck to check his pulse then kissed him on the forehead.
Edna swung her legs back and forth in Damien’s arms, resting her head on his shoulder with her other hand crossed over his chest to his left shoulder. Damien could feel her soft and steady breathing occasionally coming out sometimes in sighs.
Eventually , Damien pulled Elena in closer and the family shared a hug for the first time in a while.
The tears she had fought so hard to hide since Edna burst out of her eyes. Damien followed her gaze down to the scratches marked on her daughters thigh.
"It’s ok dear. It’s alright."
Damien’s deep, husky voice woke the sleeping Eden almost immediately.
"Mommy?" he said in a daze, rubbing his eyes.
"Mommy!" he screamed out once his eyes cleared.
Eden’s arms wrapped around her frail neck. Elena could feel the pressure exerted by him. Edna’s had been so different from the way he hugged her now. Elena twitched from the strength the small boy loaded on her convalescent body.
Damien sensed it immediately and was quick to pull him away.
"Mommy needs some rest ok kids?" he looked at the time. It was five-nineteen am.
"You should go to bed now. You have school tomorrow."
The twins on either sides of his arms hung their heads in disappointment. It was evident that they wanted to spend more time with their mother. Elena could see it to and felt her heart rip itself in half because she couldn’t fulfill their wishes.
Her heart wanted to...so bad but her body could barely support itself. She looked weak, felt weak, was weak. Elena figured it was better to leave than to stay just for her children to see her pass out in front of them.
"Ok daddy." Edna sniffed. Her large eyes looked straight into Elena’s.
Those eyes...those big, innocent, gentle orbs.
"Take care of yourself mommy. We can wait."
Isolde’s mouth hung open as she watched Edna take Eden’s hand and jump out of their father’s arms. The girl was mature. Too matured for her age in fact.
For the time she spent with her, Isolde had instantly picked the brave, leader like behavior in the little girl.
"She’s every inch like you." she said knowingly once Luan had come to lead them back to their room.
"I’d love it if she had whined a bit more." Elena confessed.
Damien pulled her into a side hug and placed a kiss on her head.
"So how are you feeling now, dear?" Isolde finally asked, looking straight at Elena.
Elena gave a wry smile. There was no point in lying to her. Her judgmental, probing eyes had never failed in extracting the truth from a lying tongue.
"I still feel so weak, Isolde." Elena said tiredly. Damien led her to the bed, helped her lay down before tucking her under the sheets.
"How did it start?"
Elena mindlessly reached for her neck where the diamond shaped mark was.
"This...all I remembered was getting an insane amount of pain from my neck before I blacked out."
"The dragons said—"
"Dragons?" Isolde asked with her eyebrows raised.
Damien stretched out his palm with the back facing himself. "Long story."
He them turned to Elena.
"Continue, dear."
"I saw them flying around in some sort of trance...like they were chanting a spell or something but...but they weren’t the ones we know."
Damien moved closer to her and sat down beside her. He took her hand. "What else my love? What else did you see?"
"Well...well... that’s about it, I guess..." she trailed off.
Damien heaved a sigh and began to stroke her hand when Elena’s voice snapped into his senses.
"Wait!"
Damien’s eyes shot up.
"Severin...I saw him . And—an—and...Lio?"
