My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 73- Change It
Chapter 73- Change It
After resting for a while longer, Elio finally stood up and stretched his limbs. He was feeling very energetic and strong, way more than ever before. His body had developed greatly after what happened yesterday. Gaining +10 in all stats is simply ridiculous. That was akin to an entire evolution step taken in one single moment.
After resting, his body had the time grow into his new strength, and he immediately noticed that.
’I’m... taller?’ He frowned as he looked down. His feet were farther away than he remembers. Not to mention that his arms were thicker, and so was his torso, shoulders, and everything else. He had gained a few pounds of muscle in one single night.
’My wingspan is also way longer. I can reach farther, and my body feels more flexible.’ He muttered. ’Nice.’
"Woaaaah, are you going to get naked in front of me, Elio? So naughty~" Melissa said as she sat casually on the bed, watching him from the side with a mischievous smile on her face.
"Why are you even still here? Fiona will come here sooner or later to check on me. You should probably head back home now." He said as he looked at her. The beauty was in her human form, so it was easier to stare at her.
He hadn’t seen her Vampire form ever since that fateful day. But, he was glad that was the case since she was simply far too gorgeous and seductive for him to handle it. Not that the current Melissa wasn’t very seductive either way.
"Ehhhh, but I really missed you."
"I will head home soon enough," Elio said. "You can’t stay here, it’s far too dangerous even if they can’t detect you. I don’t want a disaster to happen."
"Tsk, alright, alright. I will listen to you." Melissa said as she rolled her eyes with an annoyed tone. Then, she stood up. "Well, I will be waiting for you back home. Do what you need to do and be careful, ok? I will keep an eye on everything just in case."
"Yeah, thank you, Melissa." Elio smiled faintly at her before bidding her goodbye. The woman then disappeared into thin air as if it was nothing, leaving no trace behind her. Elio stared at the empty spot with a stunned expression. That kind of magical power will never not be ridiculous to him.
’If I become like that in the future, then that would be insane.’ He rubbed the back of his head as he walked to the table and picked up his phone.
"Ummm, I think I should send Fiona a message. I can’t just walk out of the room. What if her father sees me? How do I even explain myself?" He muttered.
It was wiser to just make her come to him instead. There was a lot to talk about, and she was probably waiting for him to wake up.
After thinking for a moment, he tapped a message. ’I have just woken up. Ummm, can we talk?’
Upon sending the message, it was viewed by Fiona. Elio was taken aback; it was like Fiona had the phone open, waiting for him to send her a message.. Then, she took a second to reply.
’I’m on my way, stay there.’
"That was... fast..." He muttered as he sat down on the bed. His mind wandered back to what happened earlier. He didn’t know how he was going to face her and pretend like he didn’t hear everything, but he knew he had to try, so he didn’t end up in an embarrassing situation.
A few minutes of waiting later, the door finally opened, and Fiona walked in. Elio stared at her, and she stared back at him. A weird tension immediately filled the air, and the two didn’t know what to say.
Usually, they wouldn’t have a hard time speaking or meeting; however, for some reason, at that moment, it felt rather odd. There was this different vibe between them, and Elio had a hunch why.
What happened yesterday was far from normal. The kind of situation they faced, the conversations they had, they were all quite... profound. So profound, in fact, that they have shifted their relationship quite a bit in an unrecognizable manner.
It seemed Fiona felt the same way, and she was struggling to find words to say. In the end, she spoke what she thought was appropriate.
"How are you feeling?"
"I’m... fine. Yeah, I have completely recovered." He said. "My body feels stronger."
"Good. You could’ve rested a bit more if you were still feeling a bit tired."
"No, I’m really ok. Thank you for helping me." Elio said.
"It’s the least I could do. I should be the one thanking you for... what you did yesterday." Fiona said as she looked away.
"I did what I wanted to do. I would never leave you behind just because I’m scared. I would regret it for the rest of my life if I decided to escape instead of doing what is right." Elio said as he rubbed the back of his head. "I owe you my life, and I wanted to repay you for saving me that day."
Seeing the bright light in his eyes, Fiona’s lips parted open in awe. At that moment, whether it was an epiphany or perhaps something else, she realized something.
Elio was just not a normal person. This entire time, she had thought that he was merely a regular boy blessed with the strongest talent ever seen in a human. However, this particular moment had changed that idea in her head.
Elio was just like her, if not more. He had that ’Vampire Hunter’ vibe to him. Relentless, unhinged, reckless, and always striving to do things that seemingly defy logic. That was her, and every other strong Vampire Hunter out there, except Elio, was tens of times worse than everyone in that regard.
That realization made her lips purse slightly. ’I don’t think I will ever come to understand you, Elio. Perhaps that is for the greater good.’
"Umm, so what happened while I was asleep? I’m still so confused about yesterday."
"Don’t worry, I will take care of this matter. Well, I will leave it to my father since it interests him more than me. What I am focused on right now is you. I have realized from what happened that we cannot waste time. For your safety, and for our goals, we both have to get way stronger, way faster. We can’t afford to take the normal route, and we certainly won’t make it in time if we do."
"The normal route?"
"Yes, taking slow steps, relying more on natural growth than hard work. But, we are both going to face things that we simply cannot handle in our current state."
’For someone of Fiona’s caliber to say something like this... Even though she’s so strong. That Vampire must’ve been crazy strong.’ Elio blinked. He had never seen Fiona more determined in her life.
"I know it’s a lot to ask from you. But I truly need your help, Elio. I need you in order to do it." She said as she walked to the window.
"Do what?" He asked.
Fiona took a second to think before she pointed at the outside. "To change this world... Once and for all."
