My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 25: Here
Chapter 25: Here
As they fell, Elian dropped like a brick, although Bianca no longer had a physical body she couldn't separate that far from her core. The two of them plummeted together. Outside of the tunnel the light from the mushroom and grass could no longer reach them.
Thus they raced downward in absolute darkness.
"ELIAN! ELIAN! ELIAN! WHERE ARE YOU!"

Frantically a woman shouted, devoid of her usual elegance. Elian noticed the terror in his master's voice. Unwilling to let her remain distraught, Elian replied just as loud for her to find him.
"Bianca! I'm here! Listen to my voice."
"WHERE ARE YOU?! ELIAN! DON'T LEAVE ME! ELIAN! ELIAN! PLEASE!"
Something is wrong. She sounds terrified.
Elian himself had uncomfortable memories related to absolute darkness. It was during the painfully long crawl from the tunnel to Bianca's tomb. While the memory still made his heart clench in discomfort, back then, he had Bianca's voice to support him.
Knowing that his master passed the same thing alone he immediately understood. No matter how powerful Bianca Valestra was. She died alone in darkness. Bound there, Bianca must have gone insane. The frozen garden that gave the tomb some light, must have come from years of effort.
It's my turn to reassure you.
Calming himself, the boy then spoke in the gentlest voice that he could muster.
"Bianca. Do not be afraid. Your core is in my body. We will always be together. Just follow my voice. I will get us out of here. What you are afraid of will never happen again. I will be here with you."
"...Okay."
Elian then had every inch of living metal thrum and gave it one command.
"Give me a floor to stand on. Now."
In an instant, the several snakes on his back all surged in opposite directions. They all eventually found the chasm's edges and buried themselves in it. Sensing how far the edges are, more and more snakes buried themselves along the walls, creating a lattice like a spider's web.
The many connections abruptly jerked Elian back stopping his fall. But it also caused a powerful rebound to slam into his insides, causing him to spew out molten ore. But then Elian's eyes grew wide. His 'blood', the molten ore, glowed in the darkness, granting a faint light.
As his body hung in midair because of the snakes to his back, he had the snakes unravel. Within seconds they thinned from thick trunk-like appendages into a wide sheet of metal, fashioning a floor beneath his feet.
In an instant, Elian broke off the snakes he sacrificed and leapt on it. It shook but held his weight.
"Bianca. I have created some footing. And am about to make some light. Just follow my voice. You are doing good. You are not alone. I am here right beside you."
Quickly, Elian molded his arm into a sword and chopped off his other hand. Then, commanding the severed limb to morph, it reshaped into a cup. The sting of severing his arm felt like nothing compared to the anguished screams of Bianca's voice.
Trembling from pain, Elian poured his glowing blood into the cup, to create a light source. It worked at least that was till the ore rapidly began to cool and lose its shimmer.
Tsk, then I just need some more.
Without any mercy, Elian stabbed his stomach and created a funnel to guide the blood out. His body which already shuddered from torture, went numb and lost all sensations as it protested.
But Elian didn't care.
Again and again, he injured himself all so his blood will create a beacon for Bianca to follow. Soon he felt a nostalgic chill. The boy gazed up and saw the sight of perhaps the most important woman in his life. She bit her lip, and her eyes were watering on the verge of tears.
When Elian tried to speak, molten ore spewed out of his mouth. He chuckled.
"Whoops. Welcome back Bianca, I am sorry it took so long. You used your voice to guide me before, let me return the favor with my blood. Just give me a minute, I'll find and exit so we can get out of here."
Wordlessly, the Witch of the frozen night nodded. Her eyes remained downcast, and her body quickly flew to the glowing cup. It barely lit the dark—but she stayed beside it anyway.
Trying to find the closest tunnel, Elian scanned using the living metal he was standing on. Using them like tuning forks, the boy tried to find which direction has the most vibrations. When he found a heading, he replenished the pool of molten ore using fresh wounds on his thighs.
"Bianca let's go there. You are doing great. Just hold on a little longer."
The woman nodded and followed. Elian had the living metal floor shape itself to support him and reach the edge most wall. When they finally reached it, he bashed the wall with a powerful punch. As the new passage opened, the soft radiant glow of grass and mushrooms welcomed them.
Elian quickly turned back to Bianca, only to find her already gone.
"Bianca?"
"I am fine, Elian. Thank you for staying with me. I want to be alone for a while. Just call me if you need anything."
"I understand. I offer the same thing. If you need to talk, I am always here. I will continue moving towards the Boss, so we can get out of here."
"Okay."
Sigh, I thought we would be closer after all that. Guess I was wrong.
After that Elian no longer felt her presence. When the boy entered the Ant tunnel, he was greeted by the smell of vinegar that grew stronger with every step. Desensitized to the odor, Elian ignored it and moved back to the entrance he made.
Elian retracted the Living Metal web, drawing it back into his body like taut cable being reeled in.
"Tsk, shame, I lost a lot of it, trying to stop myself from falling. Being super heavy is good for combat but absolutely sucks in speed wise. I also need to make sure we are never without a light source. I should find something flammable to make a flashlight or torch."
When that was done, he entered the tunnel and began to harvest grass and mushrooms. Surprisingly both still glowed even as they were pulled from the ground. The grass had a softer light but spread much wider, while the mushroom was brighter but only worked for short distances.
Elian shaped a metal cylinder with a handle—a makeshift lantern. He then dumped the glowing grass and mushrooms in it. With the fauna sharing their light, his new equipment was complete.
"That came out better than expected. The only question would be how long do these things keep glowing for? It would be great if I can find something I can use as fuel. I wonder if Ant entrails would work?"
Thinking such thoughts. Elian moved deeper and slaughtered everything he came across. Not in rage. Not in joy. Just necessity. The only difference between then and now was he also picked the grass and mushrooms clean.
He moved like a tide of darkness—leaving nothing behind. Not even light.
"Being able to use the snakes as material reserves works, but having it attached to my back makes it awkward. If I can command it so long as we are connected, might as well turn it into a weapon."
He grabbed one snake from behind and broke it at the base. Elian then compressed the snake's material and shaped it into a handle. The boy then pulled more and more snakes and attached them into the handle to form a blade, the metal turned onyx as it got compressed to the limit.
Soon, Elian created a gigantic greatsword as tall as himself. Just shouldering the weapon made his feet sink deeper into the ground. But as his own body fought the excess weight with Mana, he didn't fall into a sinkhole like with the marble he made earlier.
As Elian robbed the dungeon of everything, he eventually came into a large door that had a complicated pattern on the surface. "Alright, we have found the boss room. Time to end this."
