My Wife is a Hidden Big Shot-Chapter 118 - 112: Morgan! I Support You Guys
The EM Group’s Syland City headquarters was a massive campus. It was said to cover a total area of one million square meters and included residential, office, and recreational zones, making it the most lavish corporate campus in Syland City.
That was why every year, Veridia’s national qualifiers invited players from all over the country to gather here and compete in batches.
Aurora Sinclair and Zeke Quincy had registered at different times, so they were separated for the first match. Zeke’s match was tomorrow morning, while Aurora’s was in the afternoon the day after.
While they were checking out the venue, Zeke Quincy, a veteran who had been eliminated from the competition three times, took over Glenn Lockwood’s role as guide and led the group straight to the competition area.
He looked over the competition rules provided by the organizers as he explained them to the others:
"The rules for the qualifiers have changed this year. It used to be a round-robin elimination tournament, but now it’s two phases: a free-for-all and a round-robin point match. The first phase, the free-for-all, has an elimination rate as high as ninety percent..."
"Oh my god! That’s brutal, isn’t it? Zeke, do you think you can even make it to the second phase?" Jean Quincy asked, her question hitting him right where it hurt.
Zeke shot her a glare and started reading the new rules aloud. "The two phases are ranked by points. The more points a player earns, the higher their ranking..."
The first phase is the free-for-all. All players in the same batch are simultaneously teleported into an unknown map instance. Players need to earn individual points by killing monsters, killing other players, finding treasures, avoiding random dangers, and so on. The match lasts for three hours. Afterward, based on individual point rankings, the top 100 players will advance, and the rest will be eliminated.
The second phase is the round-robin point match. All advancing players will choose between two PK modes based on their overall point ranking: [Challenge] or [Be Challenged].
In [Challenge] mode, you face opponents ranked higher than you. In [Be Challenged] mode, it’s the opposite.
Players who win in [Challenge] mode earn 10% of the defeated player’s points, but in [Be Challenged] mode, you only earn 5%.
If you lose, a corresponding number of points are deducted. Once your points reach zero, you are automatically eliminated.
Jean asked curiously, "Doesn’t that mean the first-place player and the last-place player only get one mode?"
Zeke nodded. "The round-robin point match lasts five hours. The more starting points you have, the bigger your advantage, so the points from the first phase are crucial! So, Aurora, you have to get as many points as possible in the first match."
Aurora Sinclair nodded.

The competition area was located inside the EM Group tower, occupying an entire floor.
Stepping out of the elevator bay, they could see a massive, modern computer lab.
Inside, all the tables were identical long desks, each topped with an identical monitor.
Looking through the transparent glass wall, anyone with a touch of OCD would be in heaven. The desks and monitors were arranged with military precision.
"There are so many computers, you could open an internet cafe!" Jean pressed her face against the glass wall, trying to see the end of the room, but it was impossible.
Zeke tapped lightly on the glass and said with a smile, "These are way better than any internet cafe PCs! Look closely..."
"Huh? Where are the computer towers?"
"There are no mice or keyboards either..."
"Then how are you supposed to play?"
Zeke explained with a proud look, "These are cloud computers. The main system is hosted on a smart cloud. You just need to request a personal account to use one. As for the mouse and keyboard, they’re all infrared. During the match, you just turn on the infrared sensor on the monitor, and it projects a keyboard and mouse heat zone directly onto the desk. All you have to do is tap the desk to play, and the sensitivity is incredibly high!"
"That’s amazing! The person who invented this technology is a total genius!"
Glenn Lockwood, who had been ignored by the group until now, saw how much Jean liked it and immediately piped up, "Jean, we have a computer like this at my house. If you like it, I can ask my brother to get one for you through the Morgan family’s internal purchase program. My brother said these are still in the internal testing phase, so they aren’t available on the market yet."
Hearing this, Jean, for a rare change, spoke directly to Glenn. "The Morgan Family developed these computers?"
He was so excited he nodded repeatedly. "That’s right, the patent belongs to Young Lord Morgan. I heard the Morgan Group won’t be releasing them to the public until March of next year!"
Glenn Lockwood thought the Quincy siblings would ask him to get them a computer after hearing this, but instead, they grabbed Aurora Sinclair’s arms, their eyes shining, and said in unison, "Aurora, please ask Young Lord Morgan to sell us a computer!"
Glenn was dumbfounded!
Aurora nodded and, to his utter shock, calmly pulled out her phone and sent a message.
A moment later, a call came from Alvin Morgan.
The Quincy siblings huddled close to Aurora’s ear to listen in on the call.
They heard a voice on the other end say, "Aurora, the cloud computers at EM Group are custom models built just for gaming. If they want some, I’ll have Beta Morgan send a few of the latest models to the Sinclair Family..."
Jean heard this and, in her excitement, blurted out, "Thank you, Morgan! I’m a big fan of yours—mmph!"
Zeke clamped a hand over her mouth and shot her a glare.
Far away in Kingsford, Alvin Morgan paused for a second, then a smile spread across his face, clearly in a good mood. "Aurora, add them to our group chat..."
The Quincy siblings were so shocked they nearly jumped out of their skin.
After the call ended, they immediately urged Aurora to add them to the group.
When they were added to a group chat named "Arcadian University Tutoring Group," they almost couldn’t believe their eyes.
[Logistics Monitor: Welcome to the new members!]
[Homeroom Teacher: Who is this?]
[Foreign Language Rep: Aurora’s relatives.]
[Music Rep: ?]
[Study Committee Member: Welcome!]
...
"A... Aurora... Who are all these people?"
"The monitor is Mr. Beta, the homeroom teacher is Mr. Greene, the foreign language rep is Morgan..." Aurora introduced everyone in the group, pointedly skipping over the music rep.

Meanwhile, Glenn Lockwood, who had been pushed to the side, watched their lively conversation with unconcealed envy.
Jean suddenly looked up and met Glenn’s pitiful gaze. A flicker of awkwardness went through her, and she turned to Zeke beside her. "Zeke, let’s go get something to eat! Is there anything good around here?"
Glenn’s eyes lit up, and he eagerly said, "Jean, there’s an authentic Syland City crayfish place nearby. You’d definitely love it."
Without a second thought, Zeke shot it down. "Not interested—"
But Jean whispered, "Crayfish... Can we go try it?"
She really had no resistance when it came to crayfish, just like Aurora and her beloved chicken legs.
Zeke shot her an exasperated look but reluctantly gave in with a stern face.
Looking like he’d finally gotten his energy back, a delighted Glenn led them toward the elevators.
Just as their elevator doors were about to close, they heard a DING— from across the hall.
Immediately after, the doors of the opposite elevator opened, and several men in sharp suits, looking like corporate elites, stepped out.
"Mr. Miles, the qualifiers venue is this way..."
