Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 178: Let’s play
Chapter 178: Let’s play
In the world of Glory Lords X, losing troops in battle? Normally, that’s no big deal—nothing to be afraid of.
Why? Because they can be brought back to life.
Worst case? You just have to cough up a little "resurrection fee."
And money? Please. It’s just a tool. No point hoarding it.
What really matters is power—your army, your units. That’s the real deal.
If your fists are strong enough, if your forces are powerful enough, you’ll never have to worry about money or resources. That stuff comes to you.
But that’s only under normal circumstances.
Now, if we’re talking about bought units—troops you purchased from someone else—then yeah, things get dicey. If they die, you’re screwed. Because you’ve got nowhere to bring them back.
Doesn’t matter if it’s a regular unit or a hero-class one—once they fall in battle, their soul returns to the Castle Heart they’re bound to. From there, they can be resurrected through the Creature Dwellings or Hero Altars tied to that Castle Heart.
But here’s the catch: those Dwellings and Altars? They belong to the seller.
What’s that? You think the seller’s just gonna summon them again and hand them back to you?
Come on. Be serious.
Sure, anything can happen in dreams—but even in your dreams, that’s a stretch.
And in reality? Reality’s brutal. No fairy tales here.
"So basically," Ethan muttered, eyes narrowing, "every time one of those Legendary Units under Night Elf King Vaelion dies, that’s one less he’ll ever get back."
"If we hit him hard and fast, target that weakness... we might be able to knock him out before he even knows what hit him."
A plan was already forming in Ethan’s mind, sharp and clear.
Then he turned to Balthazar again. "Balthazar, all three of Vaelion’s Legendary Units—he bought them all?"
"No," Balthazar replied. "One of them is his own."
"Which one?"
"The Tier-13 Legendary Unit—Elder Chimera." freewebnøvel.coɱ
Balthazar paused for a beat before continuing. "A long time ago, there used to be a Night Elf territory in the western region—one of the Lost Realms. But it vanished from history ages ago. No one even remembers its name. Later, Vaelion stumbled upon it. Inside, he found three Tier-11 Chimeras and one Tier-13 Elder Chimera Creature Dwelling."
"The Lost Realms, huh..."
Ethan blinked, then let out a low whistle. "Another Lost Realm. Damn, Sylvanwood really is something else—land of legends and gold mines, huh?"
Two Lost Realms popping up in the same region? That’s insanely rare. Practically unheard of. And yet, here he was, witnessing it firsthand. Even he hadn’t expected that.
But then he shook his head, turning toward Cicero.
"Cicero, I’ve got a job for you."
"Yes, Master!"
"Find the lairs of the Night Elves’ Tier-13 Green Dragon and Tier-13 Emerald Dragon. And make sure no one sees you. Got it?"
The moment Ethan said those words, everyone in the room stiffened. Eyes sharpened, expressions shifted.
"Lord Ethan, what are you planning?" Balthazar couldn’t help but ask, his voice low with tension. "Don’t tell me you’re thinking of..."
"I’m not the kind of guy who lets things slide," Ethan said coolly, his tone calm but laced with steel. "Since King Vaelion of the Night Elves wants to play games, I’ll play. Isn’t that exactly what he wants?"
"But... what about the eastern front?" Balthazar hesitated. "Shouldn’t we head there soon?"
"Not for now." Ethan shook his head, then turned to Elynn. "Elynn, I want you to go to the eastern battlefield on my behalf. Tell Archmage Eldrin everything that’s happened here. And give him a message: it’s not that Emerald Castle doesn’t want to help—it’s that we can’t. We’ve got our own fire to put out."
"I understand, Master. I’ll leave right away." Elynn nodded firmly, then stood and strode out of the war hall without another word.
At the same time, Cicero also rose silently and left, his face expressionless.
Sure, he liked to slack off, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have pride. What had just happened? That was a straight-up slap in the face. And there was no way he was going to just take it.
If Vaelion wanted to play dirty?
Fine. Let’s play.
Emerald Castle wasn’t backing down.
"..."
Balthazar stood there, stunned for a moment, mouth half open as if he wanted to say something.
But in the end, he just sighed and shook his head.
He gave up.
He wasn’t the Chieftain of the Behemoth Clan in the Fury Wastelands anymore. That title was long gone. Now, he was just a regular unit under Emerald Castle—Balthazar.
So if Lord Ethan had made up his mind...
Then all he could do was follow orders.
Thinking and scheming? Yeah, that was never really his thing anyway.
...
Meanwhile, deep in the vast, unending forest along the northwestern border of Sylvanwood...
A massive, terrifying Chimera was leading a squad of Tier-11 Chimeras in an assault on a Tier-9 Earth Elemental recruitment structure—the Altar of Earth.
This Altar wasn’t unclaimed, either. Not long ago, Eldorin had captured it, making it one of Emerald Castle’s external Creature Dwellings.
But now? It had changed hands again.
That’s just how Creature Dwellings worked.
Whether they were claimed or not, any unit hero or lord had the right to attack them. But if you went after one that already had an owner, you were basically declaring war. No sugarcoating it.
And right now, that’s exactly what these Chimeras—and the monstrous one leading them—were doing.
It didn’t take long. Once the Chimera force had taken the Altar of Earth...
A Silver Pegasus Knight came flying in from the distance.
A unit hero.
"General Barak... isn’t this going a bit too far?"
"Seizing gold mines, resource points, Creature Dwellings—this kind of move is a blatant provocation to any faction. Are you sure... are you sure Emerald Castle’s just going to let this slide? That they won’t retaliate?"
He looked at the massive, savage-looking Chimera with a worried expression.
That Chimera wasn’t just any beast—it was none other than Chimera Barak, one of the two orange-tier Legendary heroes of the Kingdom of the Night Elves.
And the Silver Pegasus Knight? He was a unit hero from the same kingdom.
Just a purple-tier Epic hero, though.
His name was Vince.
