Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 180: Yes. It’s time to strike
Chapter 180: Yes. It’s time to strike
"Exactly!"
Cicero nodded, his voice calm but firm. "The Kingdom of the Night Elves has two top-tier orange-ranked Legendary heroes—Vaelion and Chimera Barak. Vaelion’s the king, so there’s no way he’d personally handle something like this. As for Chimera Barak, he’s currently wreaking havoc along the borders of our Emerald Castle—seizing creature dwellings, gold mines, and resource points wherever he goes..."
A flicker of cold light flashed in Cicero’s eyes as he turned to Ethan.
"My lord, I think this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The convoy transporting the Dragonblood Crystal might have a hero escort, but at most, it’ll be a purple-ranked Epic. That’s nothing we can’t handle."
"No doubt about it..."
Ethan nodded, his eyes gleaming with sharp intent. "The Kingdom of the Night Elves only has around eighty Legendary Units total. Even if they send twenty of them to guard the Dragonblood Crystal, that’s already pushing their limit. And if it’s just a purple Epic hero plus twenty Legendary Units? We can absolutely take them."
Originally, his plan was just to wipe out the Night Elves’ Green Dragons and Emerald Dragons.
But now? Now there was a chance to snatch the ultra-rare Dragonblood Crystal on top of that?
Talk about killing two birds with one stone.
There was no way he was letting this chance slip by.
Dragonblood Crystal?
Sorry, but that’s his now.
And those Legendary Units guarding it? They were as good as dead.
With that thought, Ethan didn’t waste another second. He turned to Cicero and said, "Cicero, head to the Kingdom of the Night Elves right now. Keep watch. The moment they make a move, report back immediately."
"Yes, my lord!"
ROAR—
Cicero gave a nod, then his body shimmered and shifted—transforming into his massive dragon form. With a powerful beat of his wings, he soared into the sky.
At the same time, Ethan left the top of the castle and made his way to where Seraphina was "training" Green Dragon Orryn.
"Seraphina, go tell Balthazar—ten days from now, I want him and all our people ready for battle."
"Battle? My lord, are we finally making our move? Got it! I’ll tell him right away!" Seraphina’s eyes lit up with excitement.
The Draconic Force surging through her body crackled like thunder, radiating a terrifying pressure.
She’d been holding herself back for far too long. If Ethan hadn’t kept her in check, she would’ve already flown off to fight Chimera Barak to the death.
"Yes. It’s time to strike."
Ethan’s gaze sharpened, a cold edge flashing in his eyes. "Emerald Castle might not be the strongest out there, but we’re not pushovers either. Anyone who dares mess with us... will pay the price."
"ROAR!"
Seraphina let out a thunderous roar, her voice full of fury and fire. "Don’t worry, my lord! I’ll crush them all into dust! I’ll kill every last one of them!"
"Honored and mighty Lord," Green Dragon Orryn bellowed, his voice booming with excitement, "I, Orryn, pledge myself to your cause! I’ll fight with everything I’ve got to expand your domain!"
"I believe in you both," Ethan said with a confident smile, nodding at Seraphina. "Now go. And don’t take too long."
"Yes, my lord!"
BOOM!
With a deafening blast, Seraphina shot into the sky, vanishing into the swirling sea of clouds above.
...
At the same time, deep within the royal palace of the Kingdom of the Elementals in the eastern region of Sylvanwood, Archmage Eldrin stood with a furrowed brow, his expression grim as he stared at Elynn.
"You’re saying you can’t send reinforcements to the eastern front? Not even temporarily? Why?"
He had only just arrived with his own forces to join the battle, but the pressure from the Dungeon army was far worse than he’d anticipated.
That’s exactly why they desperately needed backup from the Behemoth clans in the south—and from Emerald Castle.
But now Elynn had shown up with news that made his face darken.
No reinforcements?
Why the hell not?
"Respected Archmage Eldrin, and Your Majesty Thalor," Elynn said, bowing slightly, her tone steady but apologetic, "it’s not that Emerald Castle is breaking our agreement or unwilling to help. It’s just... we’re barely holding on ourselves. We don’t have a choice."
"Barely holding on?" Eldrin’s eyes narrowed.
Thalor—the king of the Kingdom of the Elementals and ruler of Sylvanwood’s eastern region—stood beside him. At Elynn’s words, both men froze for a moment, then exchanged glances, their brows tightening.
"What exactly do you mean by that?" Thalor asked, his voice low and tense. "You’ll have to explain."
Eldrin said nothing, but his gaze was locked on Elynn, clearly waiting for a real answer.
"The Kingdom of the Night Elves has sent Chimera Hero Barak and his Chimera army to our borders," Elynn said slowly. "They’re raiding everything—gold mines, resource points, creature dwellings. It’s chaos. We’re under siege."
Her words hit like a hammer.
Eldrin and Thalor both froze again, but this time their expressions twisted into something darker—teeth clenched, jaws tight, eyes burning with frustration.
Silence fell over the chamber, thick with tension.
A moment later, Thalor slammed his palm down hard on the table in front of him.
The massive, expensive wooden table exploded on impact—splintering into pieces!
At the same time, Thalor shot to his feet, glaring at Elynn as he spoke in a low, deliberate voice.
"Do me a favor and tell your master this isn’t your fault. Once Eldrin and I deal with the mess we’ve got on our hands, I’ll pay him a visit myself."
"Thank you for your understanding," Elynn replied with a nod, then turned and left. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
As soon as she was gone, Thalor dropped back into his seat, seething with rage. He clenched his fists and growled through gritted teeth,
"Eldrin, I swear to the gods, I’m this close to ditching the fight against the Dungeon army and going straight for that bastard Vaelion instead! Pulling this kind of underhanded crap right now—does he think resurrecting my soldiers doesn’t cost anything? Like I’ve got infinite gold and resources to throw around?"
Unlike the Kingdom of the Night Elves, Thalor’s troops were all his own.
In his territory, he had a 13-Tier Legendary Creature Dwelling that produced phoenixes—true Legendary Units. It had taken years of effort to build up his forces to this level.
But now, in the brutal clashes with the Dungeon army, his Legendary Units were taking massive losses.
Sure, regular troops could be resurrected...
But resurrection wasn’t free.
It cost money. It cost resources.
No exaggeration—this war had already drained his treasury to the brink of collapse.
If things kept going like this, there was only one outcome: total ruin.
And yet, while he was out here playing meat shield, taking the brunt of the assault, the Kingdom of the Night Elves was pulling shady moves behind the scenes? Of course he was pissed.
"We definitely need to settle the score with Vaelion..." Archmage Eldrin muttered, his eyes narrowing. "But I think that kid from Emerald Castle did it on purpose too. Compared to the Dungeon army, Vaelion’s a much smaller threat to them. Less dangerous, less pressure."
"So what the hell do we do?" Thalor snapped, his temper flaring. "Just the two of us? There’s no way we can hold off the Dungeon army alone! And I’ve got a bad feeling their King is about to make a move too!"
The Dungeon King...
At the mention of that name, Eldrin fell silent.
After a long pause, he finally spoke, voice low.
"We have to drag the others into this. If we don’t, we’ll have no choice but to abandon this place."
They weren’t completely out of options. If things got truly hopeless, they could always extract the Castle Heart and evacuate—leave the fortress behind.
But the cost? The Castle Heart would drop a level. And that kind of loss was catastrophic. Upgrading a Castle Heart took an astronomical amount of resources—no one would take that hit unless they absolutely had to.
"Abandon it?" Thalor’s whole body tensed. Then his expression twisted into something fierce and dangerous.
"If I’m forced to give this place up and my Castle Heart drops a level, I swear—I’ll make them pay for it. Every last one of them."
...
Ten days later, Cicero appeared at Emerald Castle and reported to Ethan, who had been waiting, fully prepared.
"Master, they’ve made their move. The convoy includes fifteen 13-Tier Emerald Dragons, ten 13-Tier Green Dragons, fifty 11-Tier Unicorns and 12-Tier War Unicorns. Plus, two Epic-grade Pegasus Knight heroes and a Bladedancer Elf hero."
"Two Epic-grade heroes, twenty-five 13-Tier Legendary Units, and fifty Royal Units at Tier 11 and 12?" Ethan’s eyes gleamed, and a satisfied smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
Perfect.
That was just the kind of force they could take down—big enough to be worth the effort, but not so overwhelming it’d crush them. And more importantly, it was the kind of loss that would make the Kingdom of the Night Elves bleed—financially, strategically, and emotionally.
Which meant this was the perfect opportunity. One they couldn’t afford to waste.
"Seraphina, is everyone in position?" Ethan asked, turning to her.
"Yes, Master. Everyone’s here," Seraphina replied with a nod. "Five Green Dragons—not counting Orryn. Seventeen Behemoths—fifteen from the Behemoth clan, and two recruited from the Behemoth Lair. Two Ancient Behemoths—not counting Balthazar. And then there’s me, Cicero, Elyra, Balthazar, Orryn, and Auremax. All accounted for."
For a high-stakes operation like this—ambushing a Dragonblood Crystal convoy and taking down Legendary Units—low-tier troops were useless. At minimum, you needed Royal Units just to qualify for the fight.
But Emerald Castle didn’t have many Royal Units to begin with.
So screw it—go big or go home. They were bringing out the heavy hitters: 13-Tier Legendary Units and even 14-Tier Mythic Units.
Twenty-two 13-Tier Legendary Units.
Two Mythic Units.
Plus the three unique powerhouse units—Balthazar, Orryn, and Auremax.
And on top of that, Seraphina and Cicero, both Crimson Ultimate-tier heroes, and Elyra, a Legendary-grade hero with an orange rank.
This force? More than enough to wipe out the Night Elves’ Dragonblood Crystal escort.
With that thought, Ethan didn’t waste another second. He raised his hand and gave the order, voice sharp and decisive.
"Let’s move out."
