Chapter 815: [Luo Fei Side Story] We’re Out of Time (II)

As the silence settled between the two, Luo Fei’s wristwatch began to flash. A synthetic voice chimed in.

[Major General Luo, King Gabriel requests your presence.]

Luo Fei snapped back to reality and nodded. "Understood."

With the forces of the Abyssal and Sky Battlefield now united, Gabriel and the other heavenly kings had all arrived. Much like the base city of the Abyssal Battlefield, the Sky Battlefield’s base city was massive—spanning over a thousand kilometers, with a network of military installations.

At the pinnacle of the kilometer-tall center tower, Gabriel stood bathed in a gentle radiance. When Luo Fei entered, she greeted her warmly. "Luo Fei, I heard that during routine training recently, your Soul Synchronization with No.1 increased by fifteen percent. Are you holding up well?"

Luo Fei smiled calmly. "No problems at all. All readings are normal. The divine battle armor is functioning as my aunt and I envisioned, blocking the invasive backlash from the mech’s power. And with the Heart’s Domain ancient art, my consciousness is connected to the heavens themselves. I should be able to bear the soul shock if No.1 goes berserk."

"Good. That’s reassuring." Gabriel’s expression then turned serious. "You saw the earlier anomaly, didn’t you? The signs of the second mythical surge have begun. With the world’s domain power in turbulence, the Blue Planet has started to fracture with spatial rifts. Several kings, including Chen Chu, have already returned to stabilize the situation.

"At the same time, intelligence from our ranks indicates unrest among the Purgatory Clan. They appear to be preparing to sabotage our efforts in managing the surge on the Blue Planet. At present, both Purgatory Empires have fully mobilized 21 main battle legions and 115 vassal race legions. A devastating War of Civilizations is imminent.

"We don’t have much time left. The Primordial King’s last attempt to carry the world has failed. Now, we only have one shot left: the Celestial King. If he also fails, our final hope rests solely on No.1. That’s why we must accelerate its evolution.

"In the coming war, the Celestial King and the First Councilor will do everything they can to suppress the opposing demon gods and prevent them from targeting No.1. Your mission is to enter the battlefield and tear through the enemy legions. Kill as many aliens as you can. We’ve also prepared to activate the Celestial Annihilation Satellite and the Deathline Satellite—both will serve as No.1’s full escort."

Luo Fei was shocked. "You’re activating those?!"

In recent years, beyond the transcendent strength system, human progress in science and technology had also exploded. The moment material limitations had been overcome, countless fantastical weapons were realized.

Weapons like the Celestial Annihilation Satellite, capable of devastating an entire planetary surface; and the Deathline Satellite, able to kill even demon kings in one hit, were all built. However, such strategic-level weapons were rarely used.

From Gabriel’s tone, Luo Fei sensed an unprecedented urgency. She fell silent for a moment, then finally said, "Your Majesty, if the situation in this war becomes dire, I want to try releasing all of No.1’s armor restraints and entering its ancient form."

Gabriel paused. After a brief silence, she replied in a heavy tone, "Isn’t it a little too soon for that? You’ve only just begun adapting to No.1’s berserk state. Once the restraints are lifted, the soul of the creature inside No.1 will fully awaken, and a devastating wave of spiritual backlash will erupt. If your spirit can’t endure it, you’ll be instantly assimilated and erased. Not even the First Councilor would be able to save you in time."

Luo Fei gently shook her head. "Don’t worry, Your Majesty. I’m confident, and besides, we don’t have much time left."

Seeing the resolute determination in the young woman’s eyes, Gabriel neither approved nor denied her request. After a long pause, she finally said, "We’ll see when the time comes. If necessary..."

Ten minutes later, Luo Fei exited Gabriel’s office, only to find the entire Sky Battlefield City surging into motion. Super electromagnetic cannons over five thousand meters tall, with barrels hundreds of meters long, began to charge. Massive missile launchers slowly rose one by one.

Inside dozens of military bases, colossal transport aircraft took off. En route to the front lines, they flew over city walls that spanned more than three thousand kilometers and stood five kilometers tall.

Ninety-nine fortress gates also opened in unison, and legion after legion began to mobilize. In the sky above, over twenty orbital battleships, each stretching more than ten kilometers, roared into action.

Boom!

Covered in black-and-red armor, No.1 strode forward with thunderous steps, emerging through one of the giant gates. Above it, fighter jets streaked across the sky.

In just half a day, No.1 crossed more than ten thousand kilometers and reached the center of the front line, standing tall before a kilometer-tall military fortress at the heart of the battlefield.

On the vast plains, tens of thousands of unmanned mechs formed tightly coordinated phalanxes. Within each formation were high-level cultivators who served as relay points. They commanded the mechs and prevented energy interference from causing loss of control.

Dozens—even hundreds—of kilometers behind the front, artillery and rocket installations were deployed one after another. Farther back still, missile fields stretched into the distance.

Meanwhile, on the opposing side of the battlefield, over a million soldiers from Purgatory vassal races had gathered. Countless mutated demonic beasts roared, shaking the heavens.

In the sky above the front lines, dozens of human kings faced off against even more demon kings. Tension hung in the air—a massive war was about to erupt.

Suddenly, in the rear of the human forces, seven brilliant streaks of light tore through the sky like falling stars. In an instant, all of the demon kings watching from above turned grim.

"Crystalline hydrogen bombs! Intercept them!"

"Did you forget about us?"

Just as the demon kings unleashed vast torrents of demonic qi to block the incoming warheads, each with a yield of fifty million tons, the human kings moved in.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The heavens erupted with the terrifying force of law.

Hum!

Mech No.1’s eyes flared, radiating a dazzling blueish-white glow. Amid hundreds of thousands of unmanned mechs, it began to move.

Boom!

Twin beams of radiant energy shot out from its eyes, piercing through heaven and earth. The ground split open into two vast trenches, each dozens of meters wide and stretching over a hundred kilometers. The rift tore through an entire demonized legion.

Five crystalline hydrogen bombs then passed the front lines and struck deep into the rear of the Purgatory forces, each exploding into a blinding inferno.

The great war had begun.
