Mythical Three Kingdoms-Chapter 603 - 571: Total Defeat_2
"Do you also think so?" Pei Yuanshao asked with a dark expression.
"How many times have we fought and how many times have we been defeated? How could those of us who survived not understand how the defeat occurred?" Jiang Gong replied grimly.
"I feel the same way, now if Lyu Bu were to charge forward, the arrangements made by the General earlier would likely be very difficult to resist. The gap in morale is just too great," Pei Yuanshao said with a frown, "Furthermore, General Guan is now restrained, and once the enemy charges directly, we deputies can only fight on our own accord, which I’m afraid..."
"Heizi, come here," Jiang Gong barked at Zhou Cang, who stood at the front of the ranks. Zhou Cang shook his head but did not move.
"Brother Zhou, it’s really urgent!" Pei Yuanshao roared softly.

Zhou Cang hesitated for a moment, then walked over from in front of the School Sabre Bearers.
"Brother Zhou, you run fast, quickly go inform Military Advisor Guo. We’ve been defeated so many times over the years, don’t tell me you don’t understand the current situation!" Pei Yuanshao said, his face clouded with anger. The Yellow Turbans might not win battles, but by now, every surviving Yellow Turban Channel Commander had learned from countless defeats what situations meant they were going to lose, if they didn’t have the ability to escape, it meant they couldn’t survive.
"Heizi, stop dawdling. Haven’t you noticed our morale has already slipped quite a bit? Hurry, otherwise if that situation really arises, I’ll lead the School Sabre Bearers to the front!" Jiang Gong told Zhou Cang firmly, and, seeing his hesitation, Jiang Gong decisively spoke up.
"Alright, I’m going now," Zhou Cang said with a nod after looking over the situation on the battlefield. He wasn’t a fool. It was clear that the Mount Tai Army held no advantage. If they were really to be defeated, then it wouldn’t be difficult for Lyu Bu, who led his army with bursting morale, to crush the Mount Tai Army.
After Zhou Cang left, Jiang Gong took his place in front of the School Sabre Bearers, but before he could get to know the other Team Leaders, Zhang Fei had already been struck down from his horse by a blow from Lyu Bu. Jiang Gong was greatly shocked and immediately sprang into action to rescue him.
Fortunately, Guan Yu and Xuu Chu intercepted Lyu Bu in time to make Jiang Gong’s rescue a success, otherwise, with Jiang Gong’s mere Qi Refining to Gang Peak ability, he would have been no different from Miscellaneous Soldiers to Lyu Bu.
After rescuing Zhang Fei, Jiang Gong quickly ordered someone to take Zhang Fei to the rear, and upon exchanging a glance with Pei Yuanshao, both saw the unease in each other’s eyes. Zhang Fei’s fall had greatly diminished the morale of the entire Mount Tai Army.
"I’ll go check the back," Pei Yuanshao said with a dark face to Jiang Gong, "Let your brother, Jiang Yann, take command of my Private Troop."
"What are you going to do? In this situation, military officers absolutely can’t leave; if you do, it will surely collapse in no time!" Jiang Gong stared at Pei Yuanshao, thinking he was going to run away like before.
"To wake up General Zhang. Haven’t you noticed we no longer have a grand military commander sitting in the Central Army? It used to be General Guan, but now he is restrained; I doubt even he foresaw this situation. We must have someone commanding the center, and as long as someone is, even if it’s not perfect, we should be able to hold off Lyu Bu’s Army without much issue!" Pei Yuanshao stated grimly, as one of the few shrewd Yellow Turban Commanders among the majority.
"Good, go quickly; I will immediately order my brother to take over your command!" Jiang Gong was no fool. Though it hadn’t occurred to him, he understood the current situation as soon as Pei Yuanshao pointed it out. Before, they had Guan Yu commanding, but now that Lyu Bu was pulling Guan Yu along, you could see that Guan Yu had no chance to be distracted!
"This is bad!" sitting on his horse, Jiang Gong saw the thick cloud of dust kicked up by Lyu Bu’s Army in the rear, and he was startled. Turning back, he saw no commanders under the Command Banner and feared the worst!
"Damn it, I don’t care anymore. You, you, you, go to the Left Wing, Right Wing, and the Central Army, and inform them about the enemy Tugi Cavalry’s assault from both sides!" Jiang Gong yelled, "All School Sabre Bearers, get ready. At the enemy’s charge, we all attack toward Lyu Bu. Crossbowmen, ready your arrows!"
Indeed, not only had Jiang Gong noticed Zhang Liao’s Tugi Cavalry assault, but the Simas in the forward ranks had seen it too and had issued their own commands, trying to pass the message to the rear and both wings as best as possible. However, the army was involuntarily thrown into disarray.
Lyu Bu, who had been somewhat inattentive to the battle, was the first to notice the confusion in Guan Yu’s Army. With a turn of his horse, he saw the two trails of dust behind his own forces and knew from the large banners that it was his own, Zhang Liao’s command.
With a Halberd, Lyu Bu parried the attacks of Guan Yu and Xuu Chu, his two hands gripping the halberd as he suddenly unleashed a tremendous force that flung both men away. Lyu Bu, at his peak, had returned once more.
"You did quite well, but that’s about it. Among those who’ve fought me, you could rank in the top five, but sadly that’s all, you could never injure me!" Lyu Bu brandished the Sky Piercer recklessly, and with full force, he inflicted another shallow cut on Guan Yu after only a dozen moves.
After pushing back Guan Yu and Xuu Chu with a Halberd thrust, Lyu Bu raised his Sky Piercer and pointed at Guan Yu, shouting, "All troops, charge!" He then slashed at Guan Yu and Xuu Chu before they could rejoin their forces, giving them no chance at all.
In the moment Lyu Bu pushed back Guan Yu and Xuu Chu, all of the former Yellow Turban Commanders in Guan Yu’s Vanguard realized this was their last chance to turn the tide. For these men, everything was just for survival, naturally, they had no sense of playing by the rules; Sima Ju, Qu Gong, Jiang Gong, and Jiang Yann all surged forward at that moment, with their Private Troops drawing their bows, readying to shoot at Lyu Bu.
