After sitting cross-legged and making a peculiar hand symbol, Xiao Fang began to feel familiar Qi brewing up from within the hairpin. The Qi itself moved around Xiao Fang as if it was alive.

Xiao Fang slowly but surely recognized the same feeling his soul gave him now coming from the beast as well. After a couple more minutes, he was not only able to feel the feeling it gave him, but sensed the flame burning inside of the beast as well.

'It's so small, I can barely detect it. Could it be because I brought it down to such a weakened state?' Xiao Fang thought.

Grabbing some of the beast meat left over, Xiao Fang force fed the cannibal beast till it was nearly completely recovered. This wasn't the first time the beast was being force fed by Xiao Fang, so it didn't resist whatever Xiao Fang was trying to do.

Watching the beast recover half its strength, Xiao Fang was disappointed to see that its soul didn't grow by very much.

'Perhaps it's small because it's a beast,' Xiao Fang thought.

So Xiao Fang decided to change targets. Using the clone that was in the carriage with Supreme Elder Song, he used the technique again, but this time on her.

But to Xiao Fang's surprise nothing happened. In the same moment, he realized that he couldn't even feel his own soul in his [ Solid Clone ].

'Perhaps it's because my clone isn't living,' Xiao Fang thought. 'Does that mean my clones can't perform any [ Soul Devouring ] techniques?'

The [ Soul Devouring ] method was already fairly unimpressive to begin with, but the fact that he couldn't use any of its techniques with his clone just made him want to continue learning it even less.

Although there was still a lot of room to improve with the [ Soul Search ] technique, Xiao Fang decided to move on to the next technique.

Suddenly remembering what they were supposed to do, Xun Wei quickly sat up.

"Lian! We overslept!"

Hearing Xun Wei's voice, she chose to ignore it as she hugged Xiao Fang a bit more snuggly with a smile on her face.

"Li~ Lian~ We need to go!" Xun Wei finally rocked Li Lian's warm naked body back and forth.

"Just 5 more minutes," Li Lian finally said, but then Xun Wei got up and started pulling her by her feet.

"Let go, I want to stay!" Li Lian said reluctantly.

Finally Xiao Fang opened his eyes and sat up.

"Careful Lian'er, if you hold onto me too hard I might break," Xiao Fang said.

"You're a clone?" she asked, but paying closer attention to him she could sense the Illusory Qi.

"Yes, there was something I needed to do, but I'll be back soon."

"Fang, Li Lian and I were supposed to be going on a mission together. We need to leave."

"I see, in that case you two better get going then. I think I'll tag along. I still haven't gotten a chance to see how much stronger you two have gotten."
