Chapter 107: Chapter One Hundred And Seven:Having Him Here With Her Was Enough.

The Whitehouse.

~~~
The car ride was an expected silent one, the president’s son has sent a Lamborghini for Vanessa. She was already getting the princess treatment she deserved, but the princess wasn’t happy one bit.
She kept a sad look on her face throughout the ride, and it seemed like the closer they approached the white house, the more she felt like she was going to faint from nervousness.
Vanessa hasn’t felt like this before, helpless! She was Vanessa Ivanov, the only daughter of Jason and Marilyn Ivanov. The last thing anyone could do was leave her in a state of peril. Where was the easygoing, and Sassy princess who didn’t care about the consequences of her actions, since her parents were always there to solve everybit of her problem?
Even while she was in the midst of a bodyguard sent by Kaiden, that was his name. Kaiden smith, her future husband. Her father didn’t want to mess up with the fact that his enemy’s were out there, who would want to take her out of the picture so that their daughter would be the lucky one, to get the attention of the president’s son.
So, he has Miguel sit in the same car with her. She could swear she saw the way Miguel’s scrutinizing gaze swept upon the idiot sent by Kaiden, to act as her guard for the drive to the white house ogling at her.
The motherfucker couldn’t keep his eyes to himself, and it gave her a sense of relief that Miguel was in here with her. She wouldn’t know what to do if the bastard decided to go to extreme means like touching her.
Well, the only solution to that if he decides to do that, would be to knock the bullshit out of him with her heels, and use that excuse of what he had done to ditch the party. That would be a very good idea since neither her father, nor her mother were going to change their mind about tonight.
But for the fact that Miguel was here with her, wouldn’t make any of her imagination come through. Yeah, that was all it was, nothing but her mere imaginations. So instead of dwelling in self pity, Vanessa put on her brave girl pants on and waited with every little patience she had to meet Kaiden.
The car stopped after ten minutes, and she looked outside to see the line of car trailing the estate. It is going to be a long night tonight.
"Be good." Miguel told her, as her eyes moved away from outside over to her bodyguard. She didn’t understand if Miguel was actually talking to her, because she’s mad at him. So, he should continue being dumb for the rest of his life, because he meant nothing to her the moment he dragged her out of her father’s room, while she pleaded for him to have a rethink about tonight.
She rolled her eyes at him, ignoring his words since she didn’t want to ponder much on him. Tonight was all about the president’s son and she wanted to keep it that way.
So, with that being said. The car door was opened from outside and the moment she looked up, she met excited blue eyes that looked down at her in admiration.
"It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, beautiful. I’m Kaiden." The man in front of her said with a sincere smile on his face, as he looked Vanessa from head to toe without finding anything to change his mind about her.
She was perfection.
An epitome of beauty.
Vanessa wasn’t still understanding what was happening, until her hands touched his and he helped her out of the car to kiss her knuckles. The flashing lights of cameras went off at his shower of affection towards her.
What the hell!
This isn’t her engagement party, neither was it her wedding but the attention she was getting was top notch, and it’s because of him. Kaiden.
He came out personally to welcome her, well. He passed the first test. He wasn’t a dickhead who thinks all too mighty of themselves, and treats women like shit. But Vanessa couldn’t conclude so easily. He might be pretending
"It’s a pleasure to meet you too, I’m Vanessa Ivanov." She said with a polite smile, and before her eyes, Kaiden’s left hand that was behind his back moved out to reveal a bouquet of flower for her.
" A flower for the most beautiful woman i have ever seen,"Kaiden said, as he looked a little bit nervous that she might find him a little bit forward. Yeah, he was definitely moving fast, and Vanessa would have mind had he been he wasn’t such a gentleman. Yet why did it feel like he was pretending?
Relief swept through him when she accepted the flower from him. " Thank you." She said, turning briefly to look at Miguel as if she needed his permission to to take flowers from other men.
She loved flowers, and she would love them more if he was the one that was giving it to her. But he’s definitely not the flower type, not the relationship kind of man.
"I didn’t get to ask which one was your favorite before..." Kaiden noticed the swift eye contact with her bodyguard, but he swept everything at the back of his mind. He’s nothing but her bodyguard, and he would rather spend his night in Vanessa’s company than to bother about her bodyguard.
But he didn’t like the way he was looking at her. He would have his men search up things about him. He had a blank expression on his face and kept accessing their surroundings.
"It’s okay, I actually love them." Vanessa was quick to cut into his conversation. All she wanted was to get done with this party and go back to the comfort of her bed to sleep away the sadness in her heart, but she wanted Miguel to buy flowers for her, her favorite flowers and not the one she was holding.
She didn’t need anyone to tell her that Kaiden was practically pretending to be nice to her, she could bet with her life that he wasn’t the one that bought the flowers. He had his men do that.
But anyway, she didn’t care about him and the flowers. The man she cared about was standing behind her, not by her side holding her hand, but it’s still a relief that he’s here with her though.
Having him here with her was enough to get her through for the night.
"Walk with me, shall we?"
