Chapter 123: Chapter One Hundred And Twenty-Three:Don’t You Feel Anything For Me?

Suncity, Mainland A.

Ivanov’s Family House.

Vanessa stirred in her sleep, she didn’t know how long she had slept. But when she opened her eyes slowly and her eyes connected to the chandelier in her room. A smile graced her face, but she was still lying down since her whole body arched when she tried to stand up.

She tried to talk, to call out Jane, who was outside the room but her voice was croaky. But to her relief, she heard her door open before Miguel walked up to her sight.

She stared at him blankly, since she couldn’t really say what exactly the face he had on, with that look on it that made her question why he was looking at her as if he cared when he didn’t.

He has saved her, only because it was his duty. But Vanessa had to stop looking at him in that light, she had to stop questioning why he didn’t want to reciprocate her feelings for him.

After what she has gone through in Adrian’s hands, she has come to understand that she had only been childish enough to pray that he comes to her rescue. When she could take laws into her hand and become a woman, a really strong woman who wouldn’t wait for her prince charming to come save her when she’s in danger.

Rather, she would fight her way out because she’s Vanessa Ivanov. The only grandchild of sergie Ivanov, the business lord who controls almost half of the legal and illegal business that runs in the city. Her grandfather practically runs the city, and it isn’t wise to hear that she died like a chicken.

She wanted to live up to her name, and not give her parents any reasons to cry over her, just like they did with Adrik’s death. Talking of Adrik, she hasn’t seen him in a while, and she’s getting bothered about it.

Was he okay?

"Are you okay?" Miguel asked, breaking her thought before she looked up at him, to acknowledge his presence. He was carrying a tray, well to be precise. He made her breakfast but he wouldn’t tell her that he made that.

"Peachy, but I’m fine." She said, touching her throat to which Miguel used that as a sign to see that she was patched, and he wasted no time but to pass a glass of water to her.

"Thanks." She said with her rough voice. She touched her neck and whimpered at the pain, only for her to remember how tightly Adrian had held her and nearly choked her to death.

"Do you want more?" Miguel said, taking the can of water up but she declined by shaking her head then handed the cup back to him. "I brought breakfast..."

"Why?" Vanessa asked, cutting him short even before he could finish his statement. It killed whatever courage he had to tell her that he prepared the meal just for her. He wasn’t the type to express his feelings by talking, but he figured out he could do that in different ways." Why are you treating me this way?"

"You are hurt, don’t stress your mind, Vanessa." He said calmly, before turning back to inhale deeply before keeping the tray back on the table.

"I would say whatever i want to say, it’s my mouth. But what i wouldn’t take is you looking at me like a weak thing." She spat, not caring that her voice was hurt. She didn’t want him to look at her that way.

"Well, that’s the point. I don’t know why you think that i am looking at you with pity. Vanessa,I... " He said, coming closer to her but she sat up and moved away from him and that made him suspect something." He touched you?" He growled, feeling his hands tightening at the thoughts of that.

"Vanessa, he touched you?" He asked again, moving closer to tug at her bedsheets but she screamed.

"No, he didn’t! You are scaring me, Miguel." She said, her breathing getting heavy before he apologized. He didn’t know how he would be able to cope knowing that he touched Vanessa. She might be lying and trying to push him away but she knew that wouldn’t change the way she feels for him.

It’s his fault that she’s angry, if he hasn’t left her without a word after that kiss. Then, they wouldn’t be this way.

"Vanessa, I want to apologize for .."

"I don’t want to hear it." She cut into his words, she didn’t want to hear him apologize and tell her how he couldn’t be with a child. Yeah, a child because that’s how he would always look at her.

Miguel didn’t know what else to do anymore, all this was still new to him. Feelings? It was all too much and he didn’t want to make her any more angry that she is right now.

She was crying looking at him. He understood what was running through her mind, but she won’t allow him to clear the misunderstanding. So he stopped like she said, her parents would soon be here and the last thing he would need to do is to explain that their child has feelings for him, and he too does the same too.

Her grandfather was coming over, and he had been sent here to tidy up for the day since the Big boss was coming. But here he was, clueless about how to help her get ready. Jane was not present at the moment.

"Your grandfather will be arriving soon. I was sent to help you get ready for the day."

"Really? My dad trusts you so much to send a man to help his daughter. Well, I don’t trust either you or my dad. So you can get out of my room now!" She said coldly, and tried to stand up from the bed but nearly fell but Miguel was fast to rush over and helped her.

"Don’t touch me." She tried to pull away from him, but he held her tight to his chest, while she beat at his chest lightly and died." I wanted an answer, but you left. You left, what if i did die yesterday? I would die a virgin and that’s not how i want to die." She said looking into his face right now.

"Don’t you feel anything for me, anything at all?" She asked him, this time looking into his eyes while searching for anything, anything at all but she found them blank.

Emotionless.

Was he even human?

"Baby,I.." Miguel tried to speak, but the door swung open before an angry voice was heard.

"What is going on here?!"
