Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 89 - Eighty-Nine: Taken.
New York City.
~~~
While she slept, he was awake watching her. It was very stupid of him to do that considering what she meant to him. But here he was, keeping a guide and waiting patiently for the demon bold enough to try visiting her again.
Adrik hasn’t felt more possessive of anyone until he saw that mark on her neck. It gives him the idea that he was in for competition but he isn’t planning on losing this time around. Maybe it has to do with his ugly pass, he lost Polina and that was a stupid mistake on his part.
He should have left the country with her after escaping with her, from the prison called her home. But, rather he had choose to listen Polina panicking about leaving. The fear that her father might hurt them if he finds out, had cost him the love if his life.
But right now, he had conquered that fear and turned it into something more useful. He wasn’t afraid of what tomorrow might bring to his doorsteps, considering what Narika was. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Tagon would have been the right person to find out what Narika was, to attract an obnoxious creature like a demon to herself. But he couldn’t exactly think so, has she ever looked at herself in the mirror?
Narika was the full definition of a heavenly creature. She didn’t look human at all, and maybe whatever it is that she is was also the reason why he couldn’t stop thinking of her.
Her red hair was rare, and he couldn’t think of any creature in the underworld that she shared such features with. Does her parents have any idea what she is?
The Singh family has no connection down here, so it still baffles him why she was drawn to the underworld, when neither Alex Singh nor her dad, looked like anything other than any human being.
Natika tossed around on the bed, her feet curling upstairs into a fetal position and her hand moved up to wrap around her body. She was feeling cold.
Adrik didn’t even notice, the temperature in the room was nothing compared to when he was in hell. The thoughts of having Narina there with him bothered him.
Would Lucifer bother her if he refuses to acknowledge him as his father, and serve him?
If there’s anything he knew about the said
ruler of hell. It would be the part where he’s a heartless man, a dark creature of the night that is the main reason why there’s a soon coming war between hell and the crystal palace in heaven.
Adrik was forced to think that the war was the reason why Lucifer came for him, twenty eight good years of his life, and he lived with the knowledge that he’s human without knowing that there existed another dimension that consists of supernatural creatures.
His attention drifted towards Narika, who whimpered again and he appeared right next to her, and covered her up with the bedsheets before a snap of his hand, reducing the temperature in the room.
He sat by her side, watching her sleep. She looked so angelic and cute, that the thoughts of seeing her enchanting brown eyes filled his mind again, and he couldn’t wait for her wake up.
A smile graced his face, when he remembered her blushed face while she pecked him earlier.
"What are you doing Adrik? This girl has turned you soft, into a love sick puppy." Adrik muttered to himself, but the thoughts of having something that belonged to him that would always remain that way fancied him.
He wanted to experience that feeling once again, and he didn’t care whether he was turning soft towards Narika. Afterall, her grandfather was who he’s going to hurt, Narika was just there to serve her purpose as his plaything.
What about Polina? What if she’s still alive?
His conscience probed at him, and it did worry him that maybe there’s a slight chance that his beloved was out there waiting for him.
His demeanor changed instantly, and he felt guilty about what he was doing with Narika. He stood up from the bed, his mind deep in thought that he didn’t see the attack from an uninvited creature from the balcony, that slammed him against the wall and he fell down in pain.
"Is this the girl?" A cold voice asked, the movement coming close to where Narika was sleeping without knowing what was happening.
Adrik tried standing up, but he spat out blood. Black blood and felt a wound at his shoulder that had him delaying his attack.
It was somewhat of a spell on him, because he was stuck to the floor, that it was painful and impossibly hard for him to get up.
"Careful, Micheal wanted her alive." The second voice said, and when he felt hands moving to touch Narika. The anger surging through him was enough to break the hold over him and he attacked the creature before him.
Adrik fought for her, but he was outnumbered and hurt. They were three men. He tried using his powers to know what they are, but some force was blocking him. They were definitely not human either. He was thrown to the ground once again.
"What is he?" The third guy asked, bending down to grab Adrik’s hair as he coughed out more blood.
What made it more annoying, was the fact that Narika was still asleep in the arms of the first man. He was Silver haired.
"L..let her go." Adrik ordered, but the guy who had Narika in his arm was busy staring right at him, his eyes accessing him for something and when he didn’t find it.
He turned to leave with Narika, but not without saying to the other man who grabbed Adrik by his hair." Kill him!"
It all happened too fast, Narika was gone under his eyes and he isn’t able to do anything about it. He beat the hand of the motherfucker holding him, and used his last strength to strike at him in the guts.
"Y..you are him. Lucifer’s son." The man said, falling to his knees, as Adrik stood up with a limp before grabbing him by his jaw, his eyes turned red without him knowing, with his hand raised up it pierced right through the heart of the stranger, and dragged his beating heart out before he fell to his death.
The blood wasn’t enough to soothe the anger running through Adrik’s nerves, he needed more and he didn’t need anyone to tell him who took Narika, and where exactly to find her.
