Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 88 - Eighty-Eight: He Would Only Be A Fool To Commit Adultery.
Suncity, Tomorrow Town.
~~~
"You know, I have always dreamed of a normal life for Narika. Where it’s just the three of us without having to worry about your father, Adrik and of course the stupid prophecy with Lucifer."
It was night time already, and Maria was all cuddled up with Mario who tried his best to be there for her, as she’s passing through her nervous breakdown.
Earlier, she stayed by the telephone and also held her phone in case Narika suddenly decided to call. It didn’t occur to the man that Narika could be this adamant, on keeping her distance away from them until Marya explained what had gone down yesterday night.
He didn’t judge her anymore, if anything he was happy that she chose to leave. He wouldn’t want the part where he comes here to see Marya crying, that Lucifer or whatever she thinks was after their child had taken her.
Mario tried to believe what had been said about his daughter, but he chose to look at the brighter side of life where everyone has a choice. If it’s really true that Narika had something going on with her, it’s only right that she makes the decision to give in or fight for her freedom.
If his dad knew about this, Maria would be a dead woman and he would take Narika away from them. That’s more reason, he has stood alert checking the compound incase if any signs of any strange looking men. He didn’t trust Adrian, the motherfucker has always been one corny fellow, so it’s only right that it’s just about time his dad gets here.
This is more reason why he’s happy that Narina isn’t here, unlike Maria who was worried that something had happened to her. Mario was strong in his beliefs that she’s okay, and keeping her distance for a while would save him the emotional trauma of having Marya’s mother over.
Seline, Marya’s mother is coming over tomorrow. Rosa, his sister in-law has somehow convinced Marya to bring their mother here. Mario didn’t hate her, of course there’s no way he would hate the woman who gave birth to the love of his life.
But maybe his father was right afterall?
Maybe his father saw this coming, when he tried to talk him out of marrying Marya? who was from India. Mario isn’t a racist nor a narcissist, like his dad judging the way of life of his wife’s family. But when it comes down to having his only child being involved with some ancestral bullshits and stuff about being a witch. He isn’t up for it.
So, just like Marya has said. He also wanted a normal life for their child, but maybe this was just destiny playing its own game and trying to prove to him that no matter how hard he tries to deny it, that it wouldn’t certainly change the fact that there exists another world out there, that there exists the witches, ghosts and a lot more out there that the mere eyes of a human can’t see.
Without having any other reasons, to prohibit her mother from coming down here. Mario would only have to bear the fear that was curling his heart about Selines arrival tomorrow. Anytime she visits, it doesn’t end well.
Narika almost killed her when she was little, as obnoxious as it sounds he saw it with his two eyes. That was the first step to him believing in the spiritual realm. So, there’s nothing much for him to deny and pray that after everything that his daughter would be fine.
That’s what is important to him, nothing else. Marya and Narika were his only priority. Then coming down to his father, he hasn’t thought about what to do if the man comes for his child.
Polina is dead. Natina is the only grandchild he has, and the last thing he would do was allow someone as corrupt as him to be near his child. Well, he didn’t need much to say anyway, Narika already despised him for disowning him.
Mario looked down at Marya, to finally confirm that she was asleep. She was still holding her cellphone in her hand, and when he tried to take it away carefully. She noticed and held it tightly to her chest.
"I’m sorry for not protecting her, huni."Mario said, and with that kissed her temple and covered her with the bedsheets before he left the room. He didn’t felt like sleeping tonight, not when there’s a whole lot going through his mind.
He went directly to the kitchen, and took out a drink before settling down on a chair. His mind spiraled in thoughts of what were his next actions, as Narika wasn’t being reported as missing until twenty four hours. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
But it was obvious that she left, but his main problem was the stupid prophecy hanging over her head. What if Lucifer really comes for her?
"Can’t sleep?" Rosa’s voice had him coming out of his thoughts, to see her standing by the door. He ignored her comment because there was no use talking to her, she’s trouble.
She smiled before coming closer to stage the glass of wine from his hands, and sipped from it. Mario wondered what exactly was her problem, from the look of things it’s obvious that she was happy seeing him this way.
He was forced to think that Rosa was happy, that Narika was finally getting close to fulfilling their stupid prophecy.
"I get it that we didn’t start on good terms, but suck it up Mario. You are not getting rid of me so easily, we are family right?" She teased, standing up to come over to where he sat before her hands trailed up to stay on his chest.
"What are you doing?" Mario asked, with widened eyes, he has always known that Rosa was stupid but right now confirmed it totally.
"What does it look like i am doing? Relax and enjoy it." She smiled, her hands moving down but halfway to feeling what belonged to her sister. Mario grabbed her hand.
"You are nothing but a disgrace to your sister." He said standing up, and dropping the glass ontop of the table while looking at Rosa in disappointment.
"Oh! Please, we both know Marya wouldn’t give you half of what i would give you if you allow me to." Rosa whined, coming closer to touch his face but he slapped her hands off before leaving but not without warning her.
"Stay away from me!" He warned, leaving the temptation that had come to destroy his happy marriage. But he would only be a fool to commit adultery, especially with the likes of her.
