Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 98 - Ninety-Eight: He Wanted To Be There For Her.
Suncity, Mainland.
Qing’s Family House.
~~~
Hendrix hasn’t been comfortable ever since Mario has given him a rundown of what had happened. Narika was missing and he hasn’t been able to do anything since he had sent his men to search for her in Suncity.
He hasn’t gotten any reply yet, and it was obvious with his mood and everything that he wasn’t okay. Hanna noticed it likewise his mother at breakfast. But he left for his room, and locked himself in since he didn’t need anyone to question his actions.
His mother would feel really bad if she heard this, and Hanna? Well, he wouldn’t say anything about his sister yet because she rarely knew Mario talk more of his daughter.
While his men were out there working hard to find Narika, he went into deep thinking and tried to analyze what Mario had told him. He didn’t really tell him the reason why she left home, and he didn’t want to pry further but from the look of things. Mario wasn’t planning on letting him know anything yet.
This was the first girl that has ever made Hendrix feel this way, he felt less of a man. It was as if he was somehow involved in her disappearance. Maybe...just maybe, if he had pressured her to speak further about who exactly Adrik was to him. Maybe there’s a slight chance that she has run away with her boyfriend.
But no! The information he had on her stated that she has no boyfriends, and tracing back to that specific date from the way she was crying. It doesn’t really seem the way a lover would cry if they were having issues with their spouse. It looks more like she was crying because she felt helpless, and in need of someone to share her pains with.
He wanted to be that someone. He wanted to be there for her, because he was insanely attracted to her. Although, he knew that she doesn’t really see him in that way apart from him being her father’s boss. Yet, he didn’t mind. Narika has taken a place in his heart, and the thoughts of her still missing were messing up with his mind and his whole being.
He felt disoriented. The only way he could go back to being himself was if his men came back with any solid proof that she’s okay. Her parents were worried sick about her, and he was too.
So, he sat on a chair with his phone in his hand while it took a whole lot for him to not call up his personal assistant to ask him what exactly they had on her.
Anyone who sees him right now would think that he’s doing too much, yeah he’s doing too much for somebody who probably doesn’t even know that he’s thinking of her. But that didn’t change anything.
He had always wanted to bring her here, to Suncity. That town wasn’t really all that secured, and with what had happened after she was accused of murder. It wouldn’t really be a surprise nor would it be too shocking, that the victim’s family had something to do with her disappearance.
They might want to hurt her as payback, and then kidnap her, then try to ..
"Just stop it, Hendrix. You are clearly overthinking." He muttered to himself, as he stood up from his seat. He kicked the chair he was sitting on with his shoe while he layed out a whole lot of ill profanities before he losed his tie.
He wouldn’t be able to go to work today, and today he had really important things to do like finishing the contract signing with ASC. Unfortunately, Adrian, the chief executive officer of the corporation had taken a liking to Mario, and had invited him for a get together that was issued by him for the successful contract signing next week.
He wasn’t able to tell Mario that, since he had far more impotent things to do. So, he had no other option than to call his secretary and let her cancel his appointments today.
He waited.
God! He waited...
Until waiting for any news wasn’t an option anymore. He walked into his walk-in closet and took a jacket, before grabbing his phone and car keys then exiting his room.
He didn’t know why exactly he’s doing and what he’s about to do. Mario wouldn’t really say much if he saw him, and it was only right that he drove downtown to see for himself how exactly the detective’s over there were taking on Narika’s case.
If money was the problem for the detectives to work on her case, then he would gladly pay any amount. He would gladly do anything just to have Narina standing in front of him again.
God! He loved that girl. The love he has for her couldn’t exactly be explained. It’s ironic that a manwhore like him, was whipped by a girl, who didn’t have his time.
Honestly, it’s funny because he hasn’t exactly sat down with her to get to know her exactly. So much for him trying to invite them over for dinner, so that he could let her know about his plans for her to move over to Suncity, and if he’s lucky she would accept his proposal for her to work at the company.
He wanted to be closer to her all the time, but there’s no sign of Narika, neither was there any closeness.
His mom and Hanna were in the sitting room when he walked in. He was in a world of his own that he really didn’t hear his mother and sister call out to him. Until the last yelling, that had him glancing their way. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"What’s wrong with you, Hendrix? You are scaring me." Mrs. Qing asked, as Hanna said nothing but gave his brother that look that meant that she was slowly catching on to what’s wrong with him.
It’s because of a girl.
"I just have something to take care of," Hendrix said briefly, before leaving while his mother’s yelling at him was the last thing he heard before he went for his car.
His mother has asked what’s wrong with him, but unfortunately he doesn’t have any answer for that right now. All that matters was Narika, and he wanted to be there for her.
