Narika: The Ghost Bride-Chapter 97 - Ninety-Seven: The Mother.
Suncity, Tomorrow Town.
~~~
The ride to the airport was a quiet one, Marya had suggested that they drive down to the airport to welcome her mother, since she wasn’t all too familiar with the town. It was her first visit here.
Moreover, she couldn’t wait to see her mother to tell her exactly what had happened to Narika, and also for her to tell her where she was and how to go about bringing her back home.
She couldn’t help but pray that Lucifer wouldn’t get to her before they did. So here they were in the car driving to the city’s airport, with Mario trying to calm her nerves down by trying to initiate a conversation with her.
But she couldn’t do anything but stare outside the city. The city that belonged to his father. Alex Singh. Marya has stopped to think if there’s any slightest chance that his father had their daughter.
There’s no way Alex wouldn’t have found them for years, maybe.. just maybe he’s the one holding their daughter, but she has learnt her mistake about bringing this sort of conversation up with Mario.
The last thing she needed was Rosa having to come in between their conversation. She was stressed up too much and Rosa having to know about his father, and trying to give her own opinion was not what she needed.
"So, when exactly are you guys planning on leaving that scrappy town?" Rosa’s question brought her out of her thoughts, she turned back to look at her since she didn’t fully hear her.
Mario didn’t even pay her any attention. He totally ignored her as if it wasn’t a human being that was talking. They weren’t on good terms, and the reason for that she couldn’t exactly point it out.
"Okay, I get that you all are stressed out about what’s happening lately..." Rosa trailed on, when it was obvious that everyone was loving the silence.
Mario shocked everyone, by slamming his hands down on the steering wheel causing both her and Marya to jerk up in their seats." For the love of God, will you just shut the fuck up and let me breathe!"
"Mario, that’s harsh of you." Marya interceded for Rosa who scoffed at his statement.
"Really? I was harsh on her, why would she be bringing up about leaving when we haven’t even found Narika yet. Tell me Marya, what exactly is harsh in what i said?" Mario said, raising his voice at her, and as well trying as much as possible to keep his eyes on the road.
Marya has always made this as a habit to side with her sister, whenever they were having issues. It was obvious that sometimes, he wondered if she had forgotten so soon that he’s her husband.
She wouldn’t be saying all these if she knew that the so-called sister of hers, had tried seducing her way into his bed last night. Yet, here was the cunny bitch trying to act as if things between them were all that good.
All he wanted right now, was to get this over with. To get their mother to the house, and then she could do whatever it is that was special about her so that they can find his child. Then they could leave him alone!
"Seriously Mario, she didn’t mean any harm." Marya says, rolling her eyes at him which only made Mario angry that she was behaving like a brat. Like a fucking teenager who couldn’t even differentiate exactly was most important to them right now, rather she was behaving as if she’s on her period.
"It’s okay sis, I get that he’s in a foul mood. I shouldn’t have brought up this conversation up." Rosa said in a tiny voice, laced with Innocence as if she’s not glad that she’s finally getting him to argue with Marya over unnecessary issues.
Since he didn’t give in to her demand yesterday, Rosa has made up her mind that as long as she’s still here, that she’s going to make his life a living hell until he caves in to what she has to offer.
She sat back on her seat, her eyes connecting with Mario’s angry ones from the mirror. She blew him a kiss which Marya didn’t notice, as she looked away from Mario since she was angry at him for what he did.
He groaned from where he sat, before briefly looking away from her to look outside. He saw a billboard with his father on it. He was campaigning already. He prayed that whatever it is that he’s doing in Suncity, it shouldn’t come near Tomorrow town.
It’s already alarming that Adrian has seen him, but judging from his past experience with him. Adrian would be the last person to tell his father about him. He would only fear that maybe the father would take him back, which was something he wouldn’t do.
The car stopped right where the other cars were parked, and Marya was already out of the door before he could come around to open the door for her.
Rosa glanced down at her watch, before turning to Marya." I think we are ten minutes late." Her eyes moved back to the fine man, standing besides her sister, who looked at Marya but when she didn’t give him the attention he wanted. He looked away with a sigh.
"But judging that she hadn’t called yet. I’m not sure she’s..." Marya said, but her words were cut short when her phone ranged and she raised it up to Rosa.
"I’m going in first." Rosa said, over excited before leaving her sister and Mario to trail along.
"Baby look.." Mario tried grabbing her hand, but she jerked her hands off his own. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Keep your opinion to yourself. My mother is here, Mario. The last thing i would want is her to think that you hate her or her daughter." Marya told him, pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"Well, i don’t hate her."
"Then what about Rosa?" She demanded, and when she didn’t hear anything from him. She went in without him and saw Rosa with her mother, they were laughing and talking about something.
A smile graced her face when she saw her, it’s been a while since she last saw her mother, and yet she couldn’t help but confirm that she still looked as radiant as ever.
"Come here." Seline told her, her arms were opened wide and without thinking twice. She ran into her safe embrace. Her eyes soaking instantly while she patted her back.
"It’s okay, I’m here now." Seline said, her eyes moving up to look into Mario’s green ones, who bowed to her as she smiled back at him.
That’s right. She’s here now, and she’s going to fix things back the way it is while hoping that it’s not already too late for that.
