Naruto: I Have a Gravity Training Room-Chapter 472 - 470
Natsuki looked surprised when he heard that.
Looks like now that Sasuke had learned to actually think things through, he had a lot of ideas, and they were pretty solid.
After the Fourth Great Ninja War, Madara, as a member of the Uchiha, naturally had his body handed over to Sasuke, and Sasuke had kept the corpse preserved ever since.
It wasn't that he didn't want to give Madara a proper burial. It was to prevent someone like Yakushi Kabuto from showing up again.
If Madara got revived with Edo Tensei again, it would be a huge headache.
Madara's eyes had naturally been removed and stored separately. A pair of Rinnegan and a single Rinne Sharingan were, without question, overwhelmingly powerful and absolutely could not be allowed to fall into anyone else's hands.
But now, it looked like Sasuke had set his sights on those eyes.
Natsuki kept working as he asked, "Why did you suddenly think of doing this?"
Sasuke answered seriously, "Earlier, I not only sensed that other dimension, I could also tell that Ōtsutsuki won't be easy to deal with. In any case, he shouldn't be weaker than Kaguya. With my current strength, I probably can't beat that Ōtsutsuki by myself. And when the Ōtsutsuki clan invades in the future, the combat power I can provide on my own still won't be enough. So I have to become stronger. And right now, the only thing left that can still support a further boost is Madara's eyes."
For Sasuke to say that meant he'd clearly thought it through.
Right now Sasuke had one Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and one six-tomoe Rinnegan. His strength was just barely at the Six Paths level, but if he wanted to defeat an Ōtsutsuki alone, it really was nowhere near enough.
At the very least, that Mangekyō on the other side was too low-tier in comparison.
Ōtsutsuki aren't afraid of Mangekyō Sharingan at all. Susanoo can't block an Ōtsutsuki's power, and Amaterasu won't do much either. Boruto had already shown exactly that, so an upgrade was necessary.
At minimum, both eyes needed to evolve into the Rinne Sharingan.
Sasuke had already been forcibly boosted by the Sage of Six Paths back then. If he wanted to improve on his own now, it would be even harder. The only thing he could think of was Madara's eyes.
The Sharingan and the Rinnegan rely on Uchiha blood as their foundation, and those three eyes could be fused.
Back then, Obito could just slot in Madara's Rinnegan and use it, while Nagato and Yakushi Kabuto couldn't fully control the Rinnegan. That was a bloodline issue.
So Sasuke's idea had a basis.
Even if he didn't outright replace his eyes with Madara's, he could at least absorb the ocular power and ocular techniques. That would be the only way for him to take another step forward.
In the last war, Sasuke, Naruto, and Neji couldn't beat Kaguya even together. If Sasuke advanced further, he could at least match Kaguya, and might even become stronger.
At that point, he really would be able to fight Natsuki to the heavens and back.
Still, as good as the idea sounded, Natsuki couldn't actually answer the question.
He spread his hands. "Sasuke, I don't understand Uchiha eyes. If you're asking me, I can't give you any real advice."
Sasuke understood that, but he still said, "I just want you to help me analyze it, see if there are any holes."
Natsuki heard him out, thought hard for a moment, then said, "Sasuke, you've completely learned how to think calmly now. And right now, you're the one who understands the Uchiha best, the Sharingan and the Rinnegan best. If you came up with this method, you definitely did it after careful consideration. So don't doubt yourself. Try it. Just one reminder: make sure you're safe. Power matters, but your life matters more."
Sasuke nodded solemnly. "Got it. I understand. Natsuki, thanks again."
Natsuki waved him off. This time, he really hadn't given any useful advice.
He knew Sasuke wasn't fully at ease, so he'd come over for reassurance. In truth, Sasuke had probably already simulated this plan in his head countless times. And with his current Six Paths-level strength, it likely wouldn't be a problem.
So Natsuki didn't have the shamelessness to accept Sasuke's thanks too warmly.
After seeing Sasuke off, Natsuki finished cooking, packed the food into a lunch box, and headed to the hospital.
And while Konoha was busy and peaceful like this, somewhere in a certain other-dimensional base, things were anything but calm.
Victor faced Jigen with a nervous, unsettled expression, not knowing what to say. Secretly cultivating a God Tree fragment had been his mistake, and the fact that Konoha's shinobi had destroyed it only made him look even more useless.
Kara wasn't well-known in the outside world, but the members all knew Jigen's secret, and they all understood how terrifyingly powerful he was.
Victor wasn't afraid of being kicked out of Kara.
He was afraid of being silenced.
Because Kara might not need a reckless, incompetent member. Everything depended on a single thought from Jigen, the leader. Resistance was completely impossible.
Compared to Victor's anxiety, Jigen was calm and elegant as he ate steak and drank red wine, as if Victor's mess was nothing more than a trivial matter. However, the arrogance and coldness in his eyes couldn't be hidden. Beneath that composed elegance was something foul and abyssal.
"Victor," Jigen said in a mocking tone, "you spent all that effort just to cultivate a trash God Tree?"
"I… I only wanted to try," Victor argued. "It's not easy to get a piece of a God Tree fragment. It'd be a waste to throw it away. If my experiment succeeded, even fruit from a trash God Tree could still help the organization cultivate a batch of members with decent strength, right?"
Jigen let out a soft laugh. "I didn't realize you'd dare insult the God Tree like that."
Victor immediately pledged his loyalty. "I've been doing it all for the organization, boss. You can't punish me just because I didn't handle some personal matter well!"
Jigen didn't answer right away. He simply stared at Victor.
Those deep eyes made Victor's fear surge. He kept swallowing, terrified Jigen would suddenly explode and kill him.
Fortunately, Jigen withdrew his gaze and continued drinking his wine. "I won't interfere with your little 'trash God Tree' project. What members do on their own time, I don't care, as long as it doesn't harm the organization's interests. But because you exposed yourself and nearly exposed Kara's existence… you can't escape responsibility."
Kara had existed for many years without being discovered by the great nations or villages because they operated in secrecy.
No matter how chaotic the ninja world became, all Kara did was continuously gather intelligence. They never involved themselves in the ninja world's messy conflicts.
Because in Jigen's eyes, the only thing that mattered was cultivating the God Tree.
Only by successfully cultivating it, and then eating the chakra fruit, could his strength advance further. When that happened, wiping out this ninja world would be effortless.
But the time still wasn't right, so Jigen continued to keep a low profile.
And yet Victor had pulled this kind of stunt, and gotten Konoha, and even the Ninja Alliance, to take notice. He was a complete idiot.
Jigen understood the ninja world well. He also knew the current alliance's primary target was the outsider Ōtsutsuki clan, which meant a hidden infiltrator like him was also within their scope.
If Konoha's shinobi traced Victor's screwup back to him, it would be extremely bad.Glossary
