Necromancer: I Am A Disaster-Chapter 692: Seizing The Momentum
Two pairs of star rings broke out in succession, erupting into a violent storm of sword light. The devastating attack skills completely swallowed Lin Moyu.
There was no Godslaying Lightning to counter this time; the attacks seemed to vanish.
Within the sword light, even Lin Moyu’s shadow disappeared.
It looked as though he had been erased, ground into dust without leaving a trace.
Jiang Yi threw his head back and laughed wildly, “Dead! You’re finally dead!”
“No one can stop me now. I’ll restart the blood formations and use the blood of the humans to ascend to Transcendent God!”
“I will become world lord and turn truly imperishable!”
His laughter grew more manic, his voice shaking the entire fortress.
Outside the fortress, Meng Anwen’s face darkened.
From his vantage point, Lin Moyu had indeed disappeared.
It truly looked as though he had been annihilated.
And yet, Meng Anwen wasn’t convinced.
Lin Moyu had been far too calm. Even under such overwhelming assault, he had never shown panic.
From what Meng Anwen knew of him, Lin Moyu never fought battles he wasn’t sure he could win.
If he hadn’t dodged, then he hadn’t needed to.
Besides, Meng Anwen knew the undead army wasn’t so easily destroyed.
The fact that Lin Moyu had stopped summoning them could only mean one thing: this was intentional.
Jiang Yi laughed for a dozen seconds before his bloodshot gaze shifted toward Meng Anwen outside the fortress.
“Next… it’s your turn.”
“You just said you wanted to become world lord and turn truly imperishable?”
A voice suddenly rang out.
“So that means you’re not truly imperishable yet. You can still be killed, right?”
Jiang Yi’s body stiffened instantly.
He whipped his head around and saw Lin Moyu standing right in front of him.
His figure, appearance, and even his clothes were exactly the same as before.
The only difference was the healthy flush returned to his complexion.
Unique talent: Comprehensive Rebirth.
A talent so abnormal that even Antares had called it freakish.”
The moment he died, he was reborn at peak condition.
All his skill cooldowns were reset, and his soul was fully restored.
Lin Moyu knew he had gambled correctly. With this, he could practically unleash Godslaying Lightning without restraint.
In truth, he had revived less than 20 seconds ago. The process itself was instantaneous.
He had simply stayed hidden, choosing not to reveal himself right away.
Comprehensive Rebirth had a 1-minute cooldown, and he had been deliberately stalling to let time pass.
In those brief 20 seconds, a third of the cooldown was already gone.
Understanding the nature of this talent, Lin Moyu clenched his fists, “Now we can go for another round.”
Jiang Yi stared at him as if he had seen a ghost and screamed, “How are you still alive?”
His face twisted grotesquely, as though he had suffered a devastating psychological shock.
Lin Moyu sneered, “You’re not the only one who is imperishable.”
“Impossible! Impossible! Only we of the Soulkind can be imperishable!” Jiang Yi roared in fury.
Another pair of star rings erupted. Terrifying sword qi filled the air, pouring down like rain.
“Sword Massacres Heaven and Earth!”
The undead army reappeared. The Skeletal King rose from its throne.
As if everything had reset, Lin Moyu once again unleashed Focus Power, immediately followed by Absolute Defense.
The undead army was wiped out by the rain of sword qi, returning to the summon space to respawn.
But it didn’t matter. Lin Moyu only wanted to borrow the Skeletal King’s Absolute Defense.
That skill alone bought him 14 seconds of safety.
By then, two-thirds of Comprehensive Rebirth’s cooldown had already passed.
The final third would pose no problem at all.
He allowed the sword qi to crash against him while firing bolt after bolt of Godslaying Lightning at Jiang Yi.
It was the same strategy as before: trading wound for wound.
No technique required. Just a brutal clash of raw power.
Now that he fully understood the limits of Comprehensive Rebirth, Lin Moyu had no more reservations. He could unleash Godslaying Lightning without restraint.
Once his soul reached its limit, as long as a minute had passed since the last activation of his talent, he could simply die again and reset everything.
His earlier refusal to summon the army had, in fact, been a deliberate attempt to die.
Lin Moyu calmly fired bolt after bolt of Godslaying Lightning. Jiang Yi’s Sword Qi Wall weakened with each strike, teetering on the brink of collapse.
At the same time, a particular term Jiang Yi had uttered caught Lin Moyu’s attention—Soulkind.
He had no idea what kind of race the Soulkind were, but they seemed to possess the ability to be imperishable.
Whether Jiang Yi could truly be killed remained uncertain, but Lin Moyu fully intended to try.
As the battle continued, the momentum had completely shifted. Lin Moyu knew the victory was already within his grasp.
He shot Meng Anwen a glance.
Meng Anwen understood instantly and immediately tightened control over the Eternal Great Wall.
As long as Jiang Yi was prevented from escaping, Lin Moyu was certain he could kill him.
Unless Jiang Yi produced a Transcendent God-level weapon like the Dragon Emperor.
Jiang Yi’s Sword Qi Wall finally shattered. Once again, Godslaying Lightning struck him, and he screamed as his injuries worsened.
Driven into madness, Jiang Yi unleashed all his remaining power, detonating the final two pairs of star rings at once.
These last pairs contained his most powerful skills, never used under normal circumstances, reserved only for a life-or-death struggle.
“Go to hell!”
Blood burst from every pore of Jiang Yi’s body. In a final frenzy, he transformed into a blood-red sword, streaking toward Lin Moyu like lightning.
Lin Moyu’s expression tightened. The attack carried terrifying power; Jiang Yi was staking everything on this.
Even if Lin Moyu did nothing, Jiang Yi would likely be half-crippled after unleashing this.
“He looks insane… but his eyes are calm.”
“There’s another killing move hidden behind this strike.”
Lin Moyu caught the clue from Jiang Yi’s gaze.
His Comprehensive Rebirth talent still had 20 seconds of cooldown remaining. He had no idea how many times this attack might kill him.
If the strike was too powerful or continuous, he could burn through several lives in an instant.
More than five deaths meant true death.
With a thought, the undead army descended to shield him.
He had no confidence in blocking the attack personally.
A level 98 half-step Transcendent God-level powerhouse was not someone to underestimate.
The Demon-Slaying Sword surged forward with terrifying momentum, smashing through everything in its path. Massive sword qi erupted as the undead troops were obliterated on contact, unable to halt its advance.
Lin Moyu rapidly shot into the air, hurling bolt after bolt of Godslaying Lightning at the Demon-Slaying Sword.
If the undead army couldn’t stop it, he still had his Godslaying Lightning.
And if even that failed, he could rely on the Thunderclap Tower’s outer tower.
He refused to believe the Demon-Slaying Sword could pierce through that.
“You can’t escape!” Jiang Yi roared.
His body suddenly exploded, turning into a mist of blood that fused with the sword.
The Demon-Slaying Sword accelerated instantly, becoming even more lethal.
Jiang Yi had abandoned his physical form to truly become the sword.
Lin Moyu recalled the records from more than 600 years ago. Jiang Yi had once used this very strike to break through an encirclement.
Though his body had perished, his soul had attached itself to the Demon-Slaying Sword and escaped.
At the time, Lin Moyu had wondered how a soul could exist without a body, something unheard of for other class users.
Back then he had been too weak to understand, assuming it was simply a privilege of being a half-step Transcendent God.
Now he knew better.
The reason Jiang Yi could preserve his soul and survive by creating a secret realm was because he belonged to the Soulkind.
“He’s trying to escape!” Lin Moyu assumed Jiang Yi was repeating his old trick.
But in the next instant, a flash of light appeared. A tiny light sword, no larger than a finger, shot out from the Demon-Slaying Sword and pierced directly into Lin Moyu’s glabella like lightning.
It was far too fast to dodge.
The moment the light sword entered his glabella, Lin Moyu froze, his eyes snapping shut.
At the same time, the Demon-Slaying Sword lost all its power and fell from the air.
