Chapter 55 - Apology

Travis sneezed mid-bath, making him chuckle at the old saying about someone thinking of him. After finishing up, he dried off and dressed quickly, his mind wandering to where Paul had been. It was strange that his roommate hadn't shown up last night.

Reaching for his phone, he noticed a message from Katie and opened it with mild curiosity. His eyes widened slightly as he read, surprised at the content.

"Damn, all that happened when I was gone?" he thought. "Well, it doesn't matter. Makes things simpler, honestly." He tossed the phone onto the bed, deciding to shift his focus to what was in front of him.

Travis made himself some breakfast and sat on his bed as he ate. Taking his phone.

Travis scrolled to Aliyah's messages, typing out a quick text to confirm their plans for later: the time, the place, everything. Barely a second passed before his phone buzzed with her reply, almost too fast, making him pause.

'That was... quick,' he thought, feeling a little unnerved. The idea of her being overly eager or one of those *BookTok* girls—a type he'd prefer to avoid—crossed his mind. The last thing he wanted was to deal with someone obsessive over fictional romances.

Aliyah on the side felt her head hurt for some reason, but she couldn't be more bothered.

'If she ever turns out to be one, I'll have to fix that,' Travis mused, shaking his head slightly. Checking the time, he realized his first class was about to start. He grabbed his things and left the dorm.

As he made his way to campus, yesterday's events replayed in his mind. He couldn't help but wonder how Aria would act around him now. Would she be embarrassed? Nervous? Dismissive? He had already come up with responses for every possible scenario, so he felt calm and prepared. Nothing about the situation rattled him.

Travis entered Aria's class, feeling a mix of curiosity and anticipation. He quietly took his usual seat near the back, keeping his eyes on her as she prepared to start the lesson. Aria seemed composed, though he noticed a slight hesitation in her movements—perhaps only detectable to him after last night's events.

The class proceeded as normal, with Aria explaining the day's topic while writing notes on the board. Travis, while listening attentively, couldn't help but wonder how she was feeling about what happened between them. There was no visible sign of awkwardness from her, but he could sense a subtle tension lingering beneath her professional demeanor.

Throughout the class, their eyes met once or twice, and Travis observed her reaction. He could tell she was trying to keep things under control, focusing solely on the lecture. But as the minutes ticked by, he began to feel more at ease, realizing that she was likely trying to avoid any unnecessary confrontation or attention.

'Guess I'll see how she acts once class is over,' Travis thought to himself as he continued taking notes.

'Ahhh, how can I not make this awkward? I mean, I still want us to be friends since he's a good guy and all. When I tell him, I'll make sure not to be harsh,' she thought to herself, biting her lip nervously as the weight of the upcoming conversation settled on her mind.

Travis kept a steady gaze on her as she spoke, his eyes never leaving her, making Aria feel increasingly self-conscious. The intensity of his stare made her feel like he was seeing through her, straight into her soul. The weight of his gaze was suffocating, and she struggled to maintain her composure, her thoughts scattering as her embarrassment deepened.

Since the morning, guilt had settled heavily on her shoulders. The memory of her husband's love and affection earlier that day twisted painfully in her stomach, only making her feel worse about what had happened between her and Travis.

While sitting in class Travis scrolled through the many kinks he could pick for dear old Aria. He found himself staring at quite the interesting kink. He decided to go ahead and pick it for her.

' I'll give it to her after we're done talking. I want her to really ponder on this. ' he thought.

[Name : Aria Williams

Age : 29

Gender : Female

KINK : None

Corruption: 1% ]

'Haven't even done much, yet she's already up by a single percentage. That's nice. Well, that doesn't matter since it won't help me with much,' Travis thought, casually observing the subtle shift.

He rose from his seat, noticing that the classroom had emptied, leaving just him and Aria. With a calm, easy smile, he walked over to her.

"Hey," he greeted as he approached, his voice warm.

Aria looked up and smiled back at him, though there was a faint hint of nervousness beneath her expression.

"Yeah, hey. Thanks for yesterday, by the way. You were really helpful," she replied, her tone sincere.

Travis shrugged lightly, keeping the same kind smile on his face. "Oh, don't worry about it. Just doing my part as a friend. The food was great, by the way. Wish I could have more," he added with a playful tone.

Aria laughed softly, a little relieved by his casual demeanor. "Don't worry, I'll make sure to bring you some tomorrow," she promised. Then her expression shifted slightly, becoming a little more serious. "Also, Travis... could we talk in the car? I wanted to ask you something."

He nodded without hesitation, still smiling. "Sure," he said. "Lead the way."

As they walked to her car, Aria's mind raced with countless scenarios of how the conversation could go. She didn't want things to spiral like they had the first time she had tried to speak candidly with him, so she mentally prepared herself for whatever outcome might arise.

Once they reached the car, Travis slid into the passenger seat, leaning back comfortably. In contrast, Aria sat with her posture noticeably tense, her grip on the steering wheel betraying her anxiety. Travis could sense the shift in her demeanor, making him wonder what was weighing on her mind.

Aria took a deep breath and turned to face him, her expression serious as she began to speak. "Travis, about what happened yesterday... I know that I forced you down," she said, her voice tinged with regret. She held his gaze, but her eyes were filled with guilt.

Travis, unsure how to respond, kept his face neutral, his blank expression showing that he was still processing what she was saying.

"I didn't mean to violate you in any way," she continued, her voice softening. "I'm really sorry. I was drunk, and I'm terrible with alcohol. I lost control, and I... I shouldn't have acted the way I did. So, could you please forgive me?" Her eyes pleaded with him for understanding, her vulnerability laid bare.

Travis remained quiet for a moment, letting her words sink in.

' Oh she took this route. I thought she was going to play the victim and tell me I should forget about yesterday. I'm impressed ' he thought as a smile bloomed on his face.

Luckily he had a response for this.

[A/N: These are all the Chapters I've written so far. I'm currently planning future arcs and figuring out what to do next with the story, which might take a while. But don't worry—I won't take too long. Probably about a month or two. I know that's still a bit of a wait, but you can't rush perfection! I hope you all can be patient. I'll only start uploading once I've finished writing, so it's not like I'm just lazing around.

If you're interested in a Patreon where you'd get updates and early access to Chapters, let me know in the comments.
