Nightmare Assault-Chapter 486: I Was Wrong
Wang Changguo annoyed them. He contributed nothing, refused to take any risk, yet demanded that the rest share their information. Even the women could no longer tolerate him. Yu Yu glared at him with puffy cheeks. Weiwei knew Wang Changguo in real life, so she didn’t show it too clearly. However, it was clear that she was ashamed of him.
Cao Yang’s temper flared up. He pointed at the man’s nose. “Who gave you the right to stay behind? Last time, you stayed behind. Shouldn’t it be someone else this time?”
Wang Changguo narrowed his eyes. “I wasn’t the only one who stayed back last time. She and she also stayed with me.” She pointed at Weiwei and Yu Yu.
“Why are you comparing yourself to the girls?” Cao Yang was in disbelief.
Wang Changguo was arrogant. He scoffed and leaned on the wall. He looked like he was above arguing with Cao Yang. He was not scared. He didn’t think the rest would stay back to reason with him, and waste more time. After all, they all wanted to live. It didn’t matter if they didn’t want to share the information with him. It was about time. He would stick to the rest. He would go wherever they go. If they found a way to leave, he would follow them.
Cao Yang couldn’t understand Wang Changguo. He believed the man needed to be taught a lesson. Before Cao Yang could explode, Jiang Cheng announced softly, “That’s enough.”
Cao Yang was stunned. He looked at Jiang Cheng with disbelief. The young man had rallied them earlier to rescue the others, so why…
“This time, you’ll all stay.” Jiang Cheng said, “Only the two of us will go.”
“I’ll teach you a lesson when I return!” Cao Yang growled at Wang Changguo. Cao Yang was young but not reckless. He knew the most critical task was to go to the morgue and find out the former director’s cause of death.
However, Jiang Cheng stopped him. “I wasn’t talking about you.” Jiang Cheng turned to Wang Changguo. “Him.” Jiang Cheng added, “You’ll go with me.” Wang Changguo frowned. He was about to protest when Jiang Cheng grabbed his arm and yanked him out. Then, the door closed with a bang.
Wang Changguo’s expression dropped when Jiang Cheng grabbed his arm. He didn’t think the young man was so strong. His hand was like a vice. His arm was about to snap.
After the two left, Cao Yang finally reacted. His initial response was to pursue them. After all, Wang Changguo was too unreliable. He’d only create trouble.
“Stay.” Lin Wan ‘Er’s voice came from behind him. Cao Yang’s hand froze.
Yu Yu turned to see the woman’s side profile. The latter glanced at the corridor. She looked surreal. The next second, she saw Lin Wan ‘Er touch her own cheek and sighed, “I know how capable my man is.”
For a moment, Yu Yu felt like she was in a romance novelbuddy, the kind that would make people blush.
As for whether Lin Wan ‘Er was serious, it was hard to tell. At least, Yu Yu believed she was serious. She knew there was something between Lin Wan ‘Er and the young man, and their relationship was not normal. It was like love, but… more exciting. She had read a military-themed web novel featuring a love story between the general’s wife and the guard assigned to protect her. That felt like their relationship. It was hard to describe.
Yu Yu’s gossip nature was awakened. She would be so joyful when the nature of their relationship was revealed. The next second, a pair of eyes fell on her face. Lin Wan ‘Er glanced at her. It was not one of disgust, but…
You only guessed part of it right. The truth… is more exciting than what you can imagine.
That’s right. Yu Yu caught the message from Lin Wan ‘Er’s gaze. Her eyes burned.
…
The corridor's atmosphere was not as peaceful as the room's. Jiang Cheng pulled Wang Changguo down the right corridor. Wang Changguo tried to resist, but Jiang Cheng easily disarmed his attempts.
“You… Let me go!” Wang Changguo hissed. He didn’t dare to raise his voice because he was afraid of attracting the ghost, and he was also genuinely fearful of Jiang Cheng. The man… Wang Changguo looked at Jiang Cheng. The latter was extremely polite, but his action was swift and accurate. Wang Changguo regretted having offended this man, for his mind was unstable.
Jiang Cheng released his grip when he dragged Wang Changguo to the second-floor elevator. This place was secluded. Wang Changguo stared at the elevator, and his face paled. “Why did you bring me here?” He had a bad feeling. He remembered Du Feng… dying before their eyes, horribly. Du Feng… was inside this elevator. However, they were on the sixth floor then.
Jiang Cheng ignored Wang Changguo and pressed the elevator button. The latter watched as the elevator was summoned from the first floor.
DING!
The elevator opened. There was no one inside. The booth looked spotless in the warm light. It was as if someone had cleaned it. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Jiang Cheng addressed Wang Changguo, “Get in.”
Blood drained from his face. Why would he enter the elevator? Wasn’t that courting death…
Wang Changguo turned to run, but Jiang Cheng grabbed him and shoved him in…
“Don’t! Stop!” Wang Changguo was about to cry. He struggled hard, but he still didn’t dare to scream, afraid of waking the thing inside the elevator. He believed there was a ghost inside the elevator, the one that murdered Du Feng!
“Please let me go!” Wang Changguo collapsed to the ground. He hugged Jiang Cheng’s left leg. “I was wrong. Please forgive me!”
Jiang Cheng didn’t give him the chance. He used his right leg to kick the man into the elevator.
