Chapter 111: Don’t Worry Helen

’’I know and I feel the same way, but apart from that, it’s good that you’re coming with us,’’ Leo said with a chuckle. ’’I can show you the view from above.’’

When the blonde elf heard this, she nodded with a smile before answering, ’’That sounds delightful, but I have to go prepare. So I will see you at the Valley Fortress when we arrive.’’

Leo quickly stood up and hugged the shocked woman, who happily accepted the gesture with a big smile. Afterward, Lirael left the room and the girls’ chatting became louder as they left the bathroom.

The trio bid their farewells, reminding him to meet them in the Monster Realm whenever he was free, as they would head there after completing their training until they started the journey to the Elven Empire.

Leo agreed with a bright smile, embracing each of them warmly and sharing a heartfelt kiss before he left. When stepping out of his bedroom, Helena and the princesses, which made him smile, met him.

He stepped forward after making sure the coast was clear before wrapping the three in a hug, which made them smile. After doing that, Helena commented, ’’The girls here are joining the heroes on the diplomatic trip to the elves.’’

’’Don’t worry Helen, I’ll look after them and make sure they return home,’’ Leo reassured the older woman. ’’I brought Tavi back when our caravan was attacked.’’

The empress beamed as she responded, ’’I trust you, handsome, just be careful out there. Things are getting dangerous, especially in the north, among the elves and demi-human realms.’’

Leo nodded with a confident expression as he spoke, ’’I hope there’re loads of monsters and demons wandering around. They will help me level up even more.’’

Following that, he said his goodbyes before leaving the palace, only to bump into Dorian, who was standing in the garden. The emperor smiled when he saw him, but Leo felt something was off about the older man.

He shrugged and greeted him, ’’Morning Dorian, I’m going to make the road safe for the others. How is the army doing across the empire?’’

The older man sighed before revealing, ’’They are doing good Leo, but it’s becoming a nightmare on the north border where the passes are under constant attack by the demons and their monster hordes.’’

Leo nodded in understanding. ’’I’ll clear out the passes to help out the soldiers. I may get a spell that will build a wall across the passage. It would help with security,’’ he revealed.

Dorian smiled before speaking, ’’Thank you, Hero. Once you get back, your reward will be here waiting.’’

’Oh, you don’t know what’s coming when I returned,’ he thought with an internal chuckle.

After thanking the older man, Leo took off, launching himself into the sky with incredible speed. As he headed north, his velocity pushed the limits, creating a deafening sonic boom that echoed across the empire.

Hours later, he ended up standing on top of a hill while watching a monster horde passing by as they went to attack a small farming village. Leo smiled before he started flinging spells at the enemies.

Explosions ignited across the landscape, engulfing the creatures in searing flames. Without missing a beat, Leo summoned thunderbolts, crackling arcs of raw energy that tore through the sky.

The bolts struck the ground with deafening force, unleashing shockwaves that obliterated the remaining monsters. As the smoke cleared, the once-overwhelming horde lay in smoldering ruins, the air thick with the scent of ash and ozone.

Leo descended, his power leaving the battlefield in eerie silence. Following that, he took to the air and started soaring through the skies of the Duskwood Empire; the wind rushing past him as he scanned the shadowy forests and mist-covered hills below.

Spotting movement, he dove sharply, his eyes locking onto a pack of snarling beasts. With a wave, he unleashed a torrent of fireballs, each one finding its mark and erupting into blazing infernos.

The creatures howled in agony before falling silent. Continuing his flight, Leo encountered more monsters along the way. Thunderbolts crackled from his fingertips, striking with pinpoint accuracy and scattering his enemies like leaves in a storm.

Once Leo was done with the fighting, the moon appeared high in the sky. He was hovering above a massive lake that was littered with blood as he killed a bunch of crocodile monsters that were attacking caravans that passed by.

Their bodies were floating on the surface as smaller creatures started eating the dead beasts. He shook his head and started flying toward a nearby mountain and landed on the peak to get some rest.

After scanning the surrounding area, Leo realized he was safe, and started setting up the tent that he had got from the system. Following that, he climbed inside before pulling out some blankets and wrapping them around his body.

’So warm,’ he thought while pulling out some ale and drinking.

Leo gazed at the star-filled sky, its brilliance casting a gentle glow over the world below. The serene beauty lulled him into a deep sense of peace, and he soon fell asleep. Outside, the wind howled through the heights.

But within the cozy confines of his tent, he remained warm and secure, untouched by the chill. While sleeping, the local towns and villages that Leo had saved along the world started looting the monsters’ bodies.

Thanks to Leo, the people were safe, and word of his deeds spread like wildfire. Those who had glimpsed him shared their stories with merchants and travelers, carrying tales of his heroics far and wide.

The following morning, Leo woke with a long yawn, stretching until he felt a satisfying crack in his back that made him sigh in relief. Stepping outside his tent, a crisp, chilly breeze that brushed against his face greeted him.

Once waking up, he sent the tent back to his Item Box before taking off and flying further north. Leo quickly noticed the landscape became more wild, and the settlements had giant walls that protected the people up here.
