Chapter 145: Let’s See What You’ve Got

As the three stepped onto the eightieth floor, the atmosphere instantly changed. A suffocating aura of hatred filled the air, making Leo’s chest tighten as a wave of dread crashed over him.

His instincts flared. Danger was imminent, causing him to become aware of a danger. Without hesitation, Leo spun around, grabbing Veladra and Astra before hurling them back toward the safety of the entrance.

’’Get back!’’ he shouted, his voice sharp and commanding. ƒreewebɳovel.com

Just as that happened, a monster crashed into him and created a crater because of the force. The two demon women panicked. They went to rush toward him, but a roar stopped them in their tracks.

Astra’s eyes widened as she muttered with fear creeping into her voice, ’’Devils! How are they here?’’

When Veladra heard this, she panicked. ’’Master is out there!’’

The Demon Queen nodded in acknowledgment, but before she could act, his voice rang out. ’’Don’t you dare come! This thing is as strong as I am.’’

Climbing out of the smoking crater, Leo shook his head, brushing off the debris clinging to him. As he steadied himself, his eyes locked onto the figure before him, a towering, ten-foot-tall humanoid with rippling muscles.

Its features resembled that of a demon, but there was something far more sinister in its presence, a darkness that seemed to radiate pure evil. Leo’s smile grew as his battle lust exploded.

A blur caught his attention as a group of devils rushed toward Astra and Veladra. When Leo saw this, he exploded toward them and crashed into the first devil, the sheer impact sending it flying into a wall with a sickening crunch.

Without missing a beat, he whirled around and unleashed California Smash on the second; the force obliterating it in an instant. ’’Get back!’’ Leo barked as he shoved Astra and Veladra toward safety.

His aura flared with unrelenting energy, and his eyes burned with determination. ’’This fight’s mine.’’

Leo launched himself at them, trading thunderous punches with the trio of devils. Each strike sent shockwaves rippling through the air, the ground trembling beneath their feet. The dungeon echoed with the deafening booms of fists meeting flesh.

While fighting, one enemy snuck toward him from behind and he felt pain shoot through his side as one devil raked its claws across his flesh. He hissed through gritted teeth, his mind cursing, ’Damn it! That hurts!’

Refusing to falter, Leo’s eyes flared with determination as he channeled his energy into a single devastating blow. ’’Supernova Punch!’’ he roared, his fist igniting with blinding, fiery energy.

The impact was catastrophic. A thunderous explosion erupted as it connected with the devil’s chest, sending all three creatures hurtling in different directions like rag dolls. Leo straightened, his breathing heavy, but his resolve unshaken.

’’Who’s next?’’ he growled, his fists still crackling with power.

The devils circled Leo like predators, closing in on their prey, their crimson eyes glowing with hostility. Their claws gleamed in the light, and their guttural growls sent a shiver down his spine.

Leo stood tall, his fists clenched and his aura blazing like an inferno. ’’Come on, then,’’ he taunted with a smirk, causing the ground beneath him to crack. ’’Let’s see what you’ve got!’’

With an unearthly screech, the first devil lunged, its claws slashing toward his face. Leo ducked under the swipe, countering with a bone-shattering uppercut that sent the creature flying.

Another devil seized the opening, pouncing from behind, but he spun around, his flaming fist crashing into its ribs. The impact released a shockwave that echoed through the dungeon, slamming the devil into a nearby wall.

The third devil roared, its claws raking toward his torso. This time, it landed a glancing blow, drawing blood as pain flared through Leo’s side. He gritted his teeth, refusing to give ground as blood stained the ground below him.

’’Nice try,’’ he growled.

He jumped back, raising his fists, and then charged forward with blinding speed. Leo unleashed a flurry of punches, each strike landing with the force of a cannon, driving the devils into a chaotic retreat.

But the devils recovered, their movements becoming more coordinated with their attacks. Leo’s frustration boiled over, and with it, his strength surged. His strikes grew fiercer, driven by his temper.

He deflected a flurry of claw swipes, his muscles tensing as the strikes came faster. Then, with a burst of mana surging through him, he saw his opening. ’’California Smash!’’ Leo roared, pouring an immense amount of mana into his fist.

When his strike connected with the lead devil, the impact triggered a fiery explosion that shook the battlefield. The blast’s force obliterated the devil instantly and flung the remaining two against the dungeon’s stone walls like rag dolls.

Leo straightened, steam rising from his fist, his fiery aura flickering around him as his anger fueled his power. ’’Stay down,’’ he growled, his voice low and menacing.

They didn’t heed his warning, rising to their feet with murderous intent, forcing Leo to dash forward, closing the gap just as the first devil lunged at him with its claws. He sidestepped the strike, his movements sharp and instinctive.

In the same breath, he delivered a devastating punch to the devil’s torso, the sheer force shattering its ribs with a sickening crunch and sending it crumpling to the ground. Before he could follow up, the second devil seized the opportunity.

Its claws struck true, puncturing his chest. Leo’s eyes widened as pain exploded through his body, and he staggered back, blood spilling from his mouth as he coughed violently. He dropped to one knee, clutching his chest, his fiery aura flickering but refusing to extinguish.

Through the haze of agony, his glare remained fierce. ’’Not... done yet,’’ he growled, forcing himself back to his feet despite the searing pain.

Blood poured from the gaping wound in Leo’s chest, soaking his clothes, and despite his will to keep fighting, the wound refused to heal. His body screamed in protest, but his focus sharpened when he noticed the second devil barreling toward him.

Realization struck, he was too slow, too injured to dodge. But then, out of nowhere, a flash of movement. Veladra appeared, a confident smile on her lips, her eyes gleaming with determination.

’’I got you, Master,’’ she called, her voice filled with resolve.

Seconds later, Veladra cast a powerful shield that absorbed the devil’s brutal attack. Leo watched in awe as she took the full force of the strike. Her body skidded back, her feet grinding against the stone floor as she braced herself.

She stood her ground, her yellow eyes locked onto the devil, daring it to come closer. Just as the enemy prepared to strike again, a deafening roar rang out. Astra unleashed a torrent of flames.

’’Back off!’’ she screamed, her voice burning with fury.

A stream of scorching fire slammed into the devil, engulfing it in an inferno of red-hot flames. The intense heat pushed the creature back, blistering and blackening its skin. But Leo knew it wasn’t enough as he struggled to stand.

’They won’t be able to kill this menace. I need to finish it,’ he thought while gritting his teeth.

His vision blurred, fading at the edges as the overwhelming pain from his wound clouded his senses. Just as his knees buckled, a figure appeared before him, his grandfather. The old man stood tall with that same warm smile Leo had seen so many times in his childhood, a beacon of strength.

’’Get up, my boy!’’ his voice boomed. ’’Those women are fighting for you, and they’ll die if you don’t finish this!’’

The words struck like a jolt of lightning, tearing through Leo’s haze of pain. His heart pounded in his chest. With a primal roar, Leo pushed himself to his feet, the blood-stained ground beneath him trembling with the force of his rising fury.

His aura erupted, blazing with an intensity greater than ever before. His body howled in agony, but he pushed through the pain. He refused to let them die to these vile creatures who tried to kill him.

’’You’re right,’’ he growled through clenched teeth. ’’This ends now.’’

Leo’s body was a mess, his wounds worsening with every breath. But none of that mattered. The devil stood before him, roaring in defiance, its claws twitching in anticipation as it went to attack the demon women.

He could feel his body breaking down, but ignored it. With a growl, Leo surged forward, his footsteps pounding the ground like thunder. Every movement was agony, but the pain only fueled his rage.

Astra and Veladra watched in horror as he closed in on the devil with the goal of killing it without care for himself. The two women stood frozen. ’’Leo... don’t do it!’’ the Demon Queen cried, fear gripping her heart as she watched him push past the limits of his body.

When reaching the devil, he gathered every drop of mana, his fist glowing with a star as the power caused the pain to intensify. The devil’s claws swiped at him and slashed across his face.
