Chapter 126: Chapter 126: Chelsea, Remarry Theodore Grant

The memory was so insignificant that if Sebastian Forrest hadn’t mentioned it, it likely never would have crossed my mind...

As I stared in utter astonishment, Sebastian Forrest’s lips curved into a smile. "Back then, I thought to myself, ’This girl has some real personality.’ So I stood backstage and watched as you put on a brave face and finished your speech..."

His voice was gentle, tinged with a soft laugh. "I don’t know when it started, but as I kept watching, you found your way into my heart..."

My lips parted instinctively, but I realized I had absolutely no idea what to say.

So I could only hang my head and bite my lip in silence.

But Sebastian Forrest didn’t seem to mind. He pointed to the photos on the wall of the corridor not far away. "Actually, from the very beginning, the reason I took all these candid photos of you was to confess my feelings. It’s just that..."

His voice trailed off at that point, and he didn’t say any more.

But for some reason, I knew what he was going to say.

It’s just that—

Back then, I just had to fall for Theodore Grant, and I got swept up in a frantic pursuit of him. Naturally, I was blind to anyone else’s affection.

"So, I just kept collecting these photos without even realizing it..." Sebastian Forrest said with a smile, turning his gaze back to me. "But thankfully, they’ve finally served their purpose."

When my eyes met his, I quickly looked away, a sudden warmth spreading through my chest.

But what little rationality I had left told me I couldn’t reciprocate...

Love between adults isn’t comparable to the impulsive crushes of one’s youth.

There are far too many things to consider.

I couldn’t even begin to understand why Sebastian Forrest would choose to confess to me under these circumstances...

For him, this love was a disaster waiting to happen.

And mutual affection would escalate that danger into a full-blown catastrophe!

And yet—

I looked into Sebastian Forrest’s passionate, bright eyes. He had a look on his face that suggested if I just nodded, we could walk side-by-side, hand-in-hand, and embark on a journey to happiness together...

’How could that possibly be true?’

I could barely resist the urge to demand if he had any idea what he was doing.

The Forrest Family would never allow a divorcée to marry into their family, and what’s more, I was carrying a child whose father was unknown...

The thought of the baby was like a bucket of cold water being dumped over my head, chilling me to the bone but also instantly sobering me up.

Just then, a phone call came in, successfully rescuing me from the situation.

It was from my older brother.

I instinctively looked up at Sebastian Forrest, but before I could say anything, he gave a slight nod. "Go on, answer it."

I nodded quickly and answered the call.

"Hello, Brother..."

"Chelsea, where are you right now?"

"I... I’m still out. What’s up?"

My brother sounded hesitant. "Come home first. I have something to tell you."

"What is it?" I couldn’t help but frown, wondering what he needed to say that couldn’t be discussed over the phone.

"Just come home. You’ll find out when you get here."

I had no choice but to agree. "Okay, I’m on my way."

After hanging up, I turned to look at Sebastian Forrest. He was standing by the window, and when he saw I was done with my call, he smiled. "Come on, I’ll take you home."

...

Neither Sebastian Forrest nor I spoke on the way back. For some reason, now that everything was out in the open, I didn’t know how to face him...

Before, we were just a senior and junior from school.

But now—

’What a headache.’

Soon, the car pulled into the underground parking garage of my apartment complex.

"Don’t feel awkward. We can act the same way we always have," Sebastian Forrest said, seeming to sense my predicament. He smirked. "I’ll do the pursuing, and you just live your life. Don’t worry about it too much. You’ll get used to it."

"..."

’Get used to it...’

’How could I possibly get used to something like this?’

I honestly didn’t know what to say and could only force a smile, but my face felt stiff.

After the long elevator ride upstairs, I quickly said, "Bye," and rushed through the door into my apartment.

The moment I shut the door, I leaned back against it and clutched my chest. My face felt like it was on fire.

"Chelsea, what’s the matter? Why is your face so red?"

Just then, my aunt, hearing the commotion, came out of a room. She looked at me with a puzzled expression and reached out to feel my forehead. "Do you have a fever?"

"No." I quickly stopped her hand. "I just ran up here, and the elevator was sweltering. I’m just sweating from the heat."

My aunt looked skeptical, but I couldn’t tell if she believed me or not.

Afraid she would press the issue, I quickly changed the subject. "Where’s my brother? Is he back?"

"He’s back. Lying down in your room!"

I couldn’t help but frown. Ever since we were grown, Mom had been particularly strict about my brother and me sleeping in separate rooms.

She had repeatedly and strictly forbidden my brother from even setting foot in my room.

Perhaps because of this ingrained habit, hearing that my brother was lying on my bed made me feel a little uncomfortable.

But I knew this apartment only had three bedrooms.

Sasha and I each had one, and my aunt and uncle slept in the third.

My brother was injured and needed to lie in bed, so it was only logical for him to use his own sister’s bed for a while.

With that thought, I suppressed my-discomfort and headed for my room.

But when I saw my brother lying on my bed in his filthy clothes, I felt like I was about to explode.

"Brother, why are you lying on my bed with your dirty clothes on?"

My brother’s brow furrowed. He instinctively glanced down at his filthy clothes and pouted. "You have the nerve to complain? After the ordeal I just went through, you think I have the energy to change? You can just wash the sheets and duvet cover later, can’t you?"

I couldn’t help but take a deep breath before looking at him. "You said on the phone you had something to tell me. What is it?"

My brother pressed his lips together, his expression turning serious. "Chelsea, you should remarry Theodore Grant."

"What?" I couldn’t believe my ears. "Brother, what did you just say?"

My brother frowned. "What are you making such a fuss about? Didn’t you hear me? I said you should remarry Theodore Grant."

I shook my head instinctively. "Absolutely not."

’After everything I went through to finally divorce Theodore Grant, how could I possibly go back to him?!’

’Did Theodore Grant get to him? Did he threaten him?’

’Why would he suggest something so stupid?!’

"Did Theodore Grant threaten you?" I asked.

My brother waved his hand dismissively, sounding impatient. "No. I just think he’s a good guy, and you two are a good match. Besides, you’re pregnant with his child now. You should remarry him, even if it’s just for the baby’s sake."

"Pregnant?"

At that exact moment, my aunt, who had been standing nearby, stared at me in utter shock. "Chelsea, you’re pregnant?"
