Online Game: I Started with Max Charisma and Caught the Goddess's Eye-Chapter 387: We Are People Who Enjoy Sharing
The situation in the Imperial Capital also had a significant impact on Shelter 102.
After finishing his conversation with Fuzzsir, Drumph's face showed signs of growing anxiety.
"It's very likely that the Imperial Capital won't hold out much longer. Should we urge the people at Zenith Technology Company to speed up their preparations?" He turned to Luca, who was not far away, and asked.
"Since Zenith Technology Company has already decided to cooperate with us, I don't think there will be any issue if we prompt them. If you've made up your mind, then go ahead and take action," Luca replied indifferently.
To him, this was not something that needed a great deal of thought.
Drumph nodded, "Then I'll go ahead and urge them."
He quickly contacted Nova, the commissioner from Daskhollow Base.
Nova, without hesitation, agreed to Drumph's request.
"No problem at all! Since the situation in the Imperial Capital is far worse than we expected, let's start taking action earlier. I'll bring my team to Shelter 102 tonight."
Drumph was overjoyed by Nova's response.
"Thank you so much for your decision! If there's anything we can assist you with, please don't hesitate to let us know. I'll do my best to meet your needs!"
"Is that so?" Nova asked, smiling.
"Of course! Since you've shown a willingness to cooperate, it's only natural that I show my sincerity as well," Drumph replied earnestly, hoping to build a strong working relationship with Nova.
"That's good to hear! There's just one person I'd like to meet," Nova said.
"Who would you like to meet?" Drumph asked, a bit curious.
"Professor Leipoder, he's at Shelter 102."
Nova mentioned Professor Leipoder.
Drumph didn't have any specific impressions of Leipoder. He had only seen some basic information about him in the internal intelligence of Morning Star.
"If Professor Leipoder is indeed at the shelter, of course, I'll allow you to meet him," Drumph said, though with some unease. However, he ultimately agreed, because he had already made the commitment, and it would be difficult to backtrack now. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
After finishing his conversation with Nova, Drumph relayed the details of the discussion to Luca.
Luca's expression instantly turned cold as ice.
"How could you have agreed so easily? Professor Leipoder is an extremely important figure! He possesses the technology for artificial monsters, a technology that Zenith Technology Company desperately wants to obtain! Nova must have some ulterior motive!" Luca's words stunned Drumph, and he felt a strong sense of regret.
"What should we do now? I've already promised Nova. Should I go back on my word? If I do, Nova might not help us at all," Drumph said dramatically, his voice filled with anxiety.
He genuinely didn't know what to do. If what Luca said was true, he could have inadvertently put humanity in even greater danger.
Luca didn't respond immediately. He furrowed his brow and began pacing back and forth, deep in thought.
In Luca's mind, backing out wasn't the best option. Doing so could easily make Nova suspicious, and he didn't want to appear weak in front of her.
After thinking carefully for a moment, Luca finally came up with a plan.
"She'll be arriving tonight, won't she?" Luca asked Drumph.
"Yes! She told me she would be here tonight, and she's bringing all of her subordinates with her," Drumph replied hastily.
"Good! We still have time to prepare!" Luca said, a confident smile spreading across his face. "You don't need to stay here any longer. Go ahead and start getting ready to welcome them."
Although Drumph didn't fully understand Luca's plan, he chose to trust him in the end.
After Drumph left, Luca immediately went to find Professor Leipoder.
He needed to share his plans with Leipoder before Nova arrived.
Time passed quickly, and before long, the evening descended upon Shelter 102.
As darkness fell, Nova and her subordinates arrived at the shelter. Nova brought a large contingent of personnel with her this time.
Not only did she bring most of the guards from Daskhollow Base, but she also brought along four massive artificial monsters.
As soon as these enormous artificial creatures appeared, chaos erupted in the shelter.
The shelter's soldiers immediately prepared for battle. Had it not been for the communication between Drumph and Nova, it was highly likely that the two sides would have clashed as soon as they met.
"I'm terribly sorry, I should have informed you beforehand that I'd be bringing the monsters," Nova said with a smile, apologizing to Drumph.
On the surface, she seemed to be apologizing, but in reality, it was more of a demonstration of power.
Nova wanted to make it clear in this way that her power far surpassed Drumph's.
Drumph nodded expressionlessly.
"You don't need to apologize. After all, the stronger your abilities are, the more you can help us," Drumph responded in a standard, emotionless tone.
"Where's Luca? Isn't he coming to greet me?" Nova looked around but didn't see Luca anywhere.
Just as Drumph was about to say something, Luca's voice came from nearby.
"Of course I'm here to greet you. I was just making the final preparations. After all, we're about to depart."
Luca smiled as he spoke.
Nova smiled back and nodded, but instead of speaking to Luca, she turned her gaze to Drumph.
"Can I meet with Professor Leipoder now? You promised me before that I'd be allowed to meet him."
As she spoke, Nova glanced at Luca from the corner of her eye.
Luca's expression remained calm, which made Nova feel a little uneasy.
In her mind, Nova thought: Did they make extra preparations? Could it be that even if I meet Leipoder, I won't be able to gather any useful information?
Though Nova felt a little uneasy, her expression remained unchanged.
"Of course, you can meet with Professor Leipoder now. I'll take you to him directly!" Drumph said, leading Nova toward Leipoder.
Luca did not follow them.
Luca was too distracted by the four enormous artificial monsters that Nova had brought.
These four massive monsters were vastly different from the ones he had encountered before.
The artificial monsters he had dealt with previously were all extremely unstable.
This instability didn't just show in the monsters' physical strength, but also in their emotional states. Artificial monsters were typically very aggressive.
But the monsters Nova brought seemed unusually calm.
"Zenith Technology Company must have developed technology to control the monsters. Perhaps, for Zenith Technology Company, the only technology they haven't fully mastered yet is the mass production of artificial monsters," Luca thought to himself, forming a rough guess.
He believed that Zenith Technology Company might only have one final technological hurdle to overcome before they could mass-produce fully controllable artificial monsters.
If such a situation were to arise, the power of Zenith Technology Company would become unimaginable.
Luca spent an entire hour observing the artificial monsters.
It wasn't until Nova and Drumph appeared again that he reluctantly shifted his attention away.
At that moment, Nova's face was dark with displeasure.
Drumph, on the other hand, wore a faint smile.
Upon seeing this, Luca was certain his plan had been a success.
Professor Leipoder had likely followed his plan and kept up the pretense with Nova.
In the end, Nova probably hadn't gained any useful information from Professor Leipoder.
To confirm his suspicions, Luca deliberately approached Nova.
"Well? Did you accomplish your goal?" he asked.
Nova forced a smile. "Of course! My conversation with Professor Leipoder was very beneficial to me. I not only have to thank him, but I also must thank you."
"Thank me? Why would you thank me?" Luca asked, curious.
"Only with your permission was I able to meet with Professor Leipoder. Of course, I have to thank you," Nova said, her eyes locked onto Luca's.
Luca smiled in response. "You don't need to thank me. After all, I'm someone who enjoys sharing. I'm happy to share Professor Leipoder's knowledge with you."
"I'm also someone who enjoys sharing. I can share the knowledge I have with you as well," Nova quickly added. "For example, the knowledge I have about these four artificial monsters I brought."
The conversation came to an abrupt halt as both of them stared into each other's eyes.
The atmosphere became a little tense and strange.
The others, including Drumph, were unsure of what to say.
From their perspective, Nova and Luca's conversation was odd. Although they were exchanging thanks, the tone of their voices made it clear that they were testing each other.
As time passed and Drumph began to feel the need to say something to break the awkward silence, Nova and Luca suddenly shared a smile.
This only made the others more confused.
"You truly are someone I admire, and I'm very much looking forward to our upcoming cooperation!" Nova said enthusiastically to Luca.
Luca's face broke into a wide smile as he replied, "Of course, I'm also very much looking forward to working with you. I'm confident that our cooperation will yield excellent results."
